Politics / Fulani Group War Message Is Fake by WizzyVine: 11:27pm On Oct 21, 2020 |
On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, a claim emerged that the Fulani Nationality Movement (FUNAM) has taken responsibility for the attack meted out to #EndSARS protesters by some hoodlums in Apo district of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city. According to the six-paragraphed claim, operations against the #EndSARS protesters will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, October 21, 2020. The statement said: “We hereby order all our cells across the country to mobilise for a battle we have all waited for since the past years.” FACT: Investigations by the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) traced the original message to a post from a blog titled Jungle Journalist. The message has since been posted on Nairaland and shared on WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter. Also, in 2019 CDD conducted a fact-check exposing FUNAM as a faceless group that emerged in 2018. The group had then claimed to be responsible for attacks in the midst of the farmer/herders crisis. While it has become clear that FUNAM does not exist, the group has been used as a weapon to stoke ethnic tensions as far back as 2018, as is being used now to stoke tensions after unidentified attackers burned vehicles in the Apo/Mechanic Village axis of Abuja on October 19. CONCLUSION: There is no group known as FUNAM and not responsible for the attacks on #EndSARS protesters in Apo district of Abuja. This is an attempt at stoking ethnic tensions, and should be ignored. Politics / Endsars: Please Beware. SARS Are Still Alive And Hunting Youths by WizzyVine: 10:50pm On Oct 21, 2020 |
Please be careful, advice our youth and teens to delete any End SARS pictures on their phone and they should not wear any shirt or paraphernalia that suggest End SARS. All will be well. *** Just as I left the hospital. Before I got to the intersection. They pulled before us in a black Toyota Sienna. Blocking us from moving further. These men. In black and blue jeans. And black tight t-shirts. Heavily armed. Sunglasses as usual. Climbed out of the vehicle. My driver exhaled heavily. "These people again." Eight men. Two moved toward the Taxify. Gun raised. Cocking their rifles as though they had caught some criminals. I sat calmly. If you are a young man who frequents Taxify or Uber in Lagos, you'd probably get used to that embarrassment. I had nothing with me just my phone. And the medication I had gotten from the hospital. I was so weak. Massive headache. While they approached I asked my driver. "Who are those guys?" "Haaa. Bros, na SARS o." I said. "I thought they have banned these guys?" He looked at me. "For wia. Na today?" I sighed. The two approached one on each side of the car. I kept my hands in plain sight and made no sudden moves. One of the men shouted at my driver. "You no go wind down? Abi you want us to beg you?" The Taxify driver quickly hit the window button as he screamed forcing a smile. "Aaah officer of the law no vex, sir! I throw way salute." The one who had shouted approached my window. I was looking away. He shouted. "Oga, you no dey greet person abi you no see us?" I slowly turned my head and looked at him. "Officer, good afternoon, sir." "Afternoon. Who are you?" I was about to answer. He shouted. "Oga, come down?!" One of his folks standing a few steps away shouted. "Who be dis person wey no dey hear us? Na one of those protesters? Devil go welcome am for hell now if he be one of those protesters." He cocked his gun and approached my Taxify. It was a lonely road. No onlookers. A few cars passed by the other side of the lane. I gently got down from the car. I greeted again. Both of them. "Officers, good afternoon, sir." My driver came out and said. "Na my passenger! I pick am from that hospital down the road." The one who had asked me who I am shouted at him. "Shut up! Did we ask you anything? You dey mad? Your moda!" Then he turned to me. "Oga, who are you?" "My name is Kyrian Chiemelie, sir." "What do you do? Wetin dey your pocket?" "I am a writer, sir." "Journalist?" "No, sir. Author, scriptwriter, filmmaker, sir." "Oga, wetin dey your pocket?" "My phone, sir." "Bring it out." I dug out my phone. "Unlock it." "Why?" The other one shouted attracting the rest, pointing his gun at him. "You are asking us questions? Are you stupid?" I said. "No, sir. But none of you has the right to search my phone. I didn't do anything wrong." One shouted, running toward us. "Who dey yarn that rubbish? Na one of the protesters? Shoot the modafuvker!" The other one said. "We never know na when we search him phone we go know." The Taxify driver said to me. "Please, unlock your phone. You know what is going on already." The one pointing rifle at me shouted. Eyes widened. Dark lips. Unsmiling face. "Oga, unlock your phone for the last time!" As I used my fingerprint he snatched my phone from me immediately. Handed it to the last folk who approached us. He seemed to be the leader. He started to go through my phone as he said. "What did you say you do again?" "I am a filmmaker, sir." "Actor?" I shook my head. "Basically writing." He looked at me. "You look tired." I said. "I just dey come back from the hospital. The one down there." "Wetin dey do you? COVID-19?" "No, sir. Na stress and little sickness. My doctor has given me some tablets, I will be fine in a couple of days." As he scrolled through my phone the others watched. Gun pointed up, down. A few at me. I remained chilled. He asked. "And you are not one of the end SARS protesters." I remained silent. One of them moved toward me as though he wanted to hit me his rifle. I dodged. "Oga, dey ask you, you dey ignore am." The man said. "Leave am. Make I see end SARS pictures on his phone first and he is gone with the gun." I was still silent. A few minutes later. One said to the one with my phone. "Oga, did you see any pictures of end SARS on his phone?" "I never see one." I said. "Sir, can I go, please? There is nothing on my phone." He looked at me. "Are you teaching us our job?" "Not at all, sir. But there is nothing on my phone. My doctor said I should not stand too long." Two laughed. "You dey tell us na. We wey no get doctor make we die. We wey dey use chamist cure our infection and malaria." I didn't say a word. One of them approached me and showed me some images on his phone. Dead bodies. Fresh corpses of youth, both male and female. Lying by the bush. Blood gushing from bullet wounds. I looked at him, in fear. He said. "Shey dem dey shout end SARS we no dey catch anybody again o. But na make we see pictures of end SARS for person phone the person is gone. Dis ones wey you dey see so na some of the protesters o. Shey dey don die like dis? Dey will keep dying." One shouted at him. "Why you dey tell am this thing? Why you dey leak our secret? Do you know who he is?" "Shey he talk say na filmmaker? He won't do anything." Goosebumps rushed over me. In actuality of how these guys are killing in reckless abandon. The one with my phone said. "I no see anything for him phone. He is free to go." He handed my phone back to me. Then said. I took my phone and said. "Thank you." As I headed back to the Taxify, a Lexus Jeep was approaching behind us. They rushed immediately and flew it to stop. The Taxify driver got in and we started to drive off. While I looked behind, watching as they dragged five guys out of the car. About three wore t-shirts. Boldly written 'EndSARS'. The Taxify turned right at the intersection and I couldn't see anymore. He shouted. "Ah. These people are in trouble." But I heard it barely ten seconds later. It was loud from a distance. Pooo! Pooo!! Pooo!!! Three gunshots. . Ikeja By Kyrian Chiemelie Offor |

olumide4christ: You're right but the situation here is quite different. First, no one said Eniola Badmus was killed yesterday. The report only said there was someone in the video that looks like her. The report didn't speak with authority that Eniola Badmus was killed. Now, regarding the Sanwo Olu matter, the federal government cannot perpetuate that magnitude of military action without the foreknowledge of the state government. There's evidence that Tinubu was aware, hence Sanwo Olu cannot feign ignorance. Sometimes, if you cannot extract facts through logic, you will succumb to lies. The following questions are pointers: 1. Who ordered the taking down of the cameras? Federal government? 2. Who ordered the switching off of the lights? Federal Government? 3. Can these orders be carried out without the involvement of the State Government? For all we know, the Federal government is the highest power in the federation but the states are autonomous. The Federal Government cannot make such an incursion into Lagos without Sanwo Olu being privy to such as action. And, we know that the Federal Government cannot order the State Government. Such an action can only come following a mutual agreement. |

olumide4christ: I'm really touched by the fact that Sanwo Olu visited the protesters several times before the massacre. However, what message did he pass to them? Did he just tell them to disperse? Or did he inform them of the coming bloodletting? Many protesters have been killed by hoodlums of late, what did Sanwo Olu dó about it? In Oyo State, violence resulting to deaths of some persons erupted in Ibadan. Seyi Makinde immediately deployed Operation Burst to defend the protesters. As the governor of Lagos State, Sanwo Olu should have done everything to defend his citizens. He knew what was coming but left them to their deaths. This is the very Crux of the matter. Sometimes, it is much more profitable to betray higher authorities and lose your favour with them than to stay loyal and cause many lives to be lost. 1 Like |

olumide4christ: My brother. Let it be known today that if Buhari has addressed the nation for just 3 minutes, the protests wouldn't have taken this sorry dimension. The protesters needed to do something to ensure Buhari talks. Remember, they didn't start by blocking roads. Additionally, they want the government to know that their demands are beyond ending SARS. They want a sane country governed by sane people. Okay, if you say the protest isn't peaceful anymore because of the new dimensions it has taken, I concur, but may I ask you if sending soldiers to kill the armless youths in their prime is the right response for a responsible government? |

Iamgrey5: Man, stop arguing. Buhari and Buratai are far away from Lagos. We all know that Tinubu and Sanwo Olu are accomplices. We have intelligence on how Tinubu ordered the lights at the Lekki toll gate to be switched off before the massacre yesterday. The attacks on Tinubu isn't a blind one. |
Crime / Re: BRT Buses In Oyinbo Reportedly Set On Fire By Hoodlums, Lagos (Video) by WizzyVine: 10:16am On Oct 21, 2020 |
Kingdemu: Take away your unreasonable quote. The Youths killed yesterday were unarmed and were not violent in any way. The hoodlums that were paid by politicians to unleash violence in the city were protected by security agents and there was nothing done to them. Peaceful protesters gathered at Lekki with no weapons and no violence. Soldiers attacked and shot at the defenseless youths after switching off the lights to cover the truth. If you quote this nonesense with your distorted view of the said constitution on the streets, angry youths would not hesitate to give you what you deserve. 1 Like 1 Share |

Buhari gave the order for sure, but Sanwo Olu and Tinubu are accomplices. They shall not go unpunished. As they have caused pain and mourning to many families. Pain and mourning shall not depart from their generations. They switched off the lights but heaven still exposed them. They will weep for this that they've done. RIP to the departed heroes. Nigeria will never forget your sacrifice. |

LegendHero: It is not a matter of forming liberal. It is a matter of standing for the truth, whether it affects you or others. If Peter Obi were a Yoruba, and his complicity in the James Nwafor saga is as clear as it is today, Yoruba will not defend it. Defending such is hypocrisy, and where hypocrisy reigns, nothing good can come out. We refuse to dine with hypocrites or dance to their tunes. If we defend falsehood, expecially in such hierarchy of cruelty where human lives have been wasted for nothing, then, we deceive ourselves. We cannot and never achieve the sane country for which we now clamour. A nation built on integrity, selflessness and respect for human lives is all we need. Any tribe that considers tribal affinity above these is a joke. 2 Likes 1 Share |

sbaks: I think you're wrong in your judgement. The protest is against police brutality done to all Nigerians. Robbers, Fraudsters, Lesbians, Homosexuals, Yahoo boys, etc are all inclusive in the term "All Nigerians". This isn't about the innocence or guiltiness of the victims, there is no room for police brutality in whatever shade or form. However, when a group singles itself out to make a statement that seems to lay the emphasis of the protest against a particular sect, it gradually leads to distraction. The said LGBTQ do not have to say it. Everyone is included. Police brutality is wrong even against a confirmed criminal. That is the point. LGBTQ should not seek to turn the focus of the protest on themselves. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Thanks so much ma. Solid support is all we need. We must all unite in one spirit and in one mind to speak with one voice to pull down the strongholds of slavery and oppression that has bedevilled our lives. We need the support of respected and influential people at home and abroad to nip this epidemic leadership in Nigeria to the board. When the people become one man, and speak with one voice, they become unstoppable. - We are tired of bad governance. - We are tired of corruption at all levels - We are tired of fake promises - We are tired of irresponsible senators and representatives - We are tired of failed judicial systems - We are tired of insecurity - We are tired exploitation and extortion - We are tired outdated and useless education system - We are tired of animalistic policing - We are tired of....
