Christianity Etc › Re: Bishop Oyedepo To Plant 10,000 Churches In 2020 by wman(m): 12:39pm On Jan 12, 2020 |
chronique: I don't know what Christianity is turning into in Nigeria but one thing I know is that some of these people running churches are becoming daft by the day. I'm not going to talk about Oyedepo cos in fairness to winners chapel, you don't see their branches littering the place up and down. But I have a problem with RCCG where I worship. I attend a small local church that is few buildings away from my house and we are still struggling to build the church to look beffiting. But guess what? In December, RCCG went to plant another church on the same street. This is a street that has less than 40 buildings/houses and already has at least 3 churches on it(including 1 RCCG branch). The various streets leading to this my street also has at least 3 different branches of RCCG. These branches are never filled up on sundays and the only one that gets filled is the very small one that looks like a kiosk. When I assess the whole thing, I begin to wonder if the people responsible for doing these traded their brains for food and money. How do you keep engaging in capital projects that are not fully utilized? How do you plant a new branch of a church on a small street that has a struggling branch of the same church? These days, if you want to see people display acute stupidity, just go to the church. I have the same problem with RCCG. In my house, you can hear the sounds of 3 RCCG churches on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The once large communal RCCG church in my area is now a shadow of itself. The members have been split into different tiny churches. A lot of these churches struggle to fuel their gens and cater for other expenses. You'll see numerous RCCG churches less than 5 minutes away from each other. It's just crazy. You ask the members, they'll tell you the General Overseer has a vision. |

This is messed up men. Same way America mistakenly shot down an Iranian passenger plane in 1988. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air_Flight_655The good thing is that Iran will find it hard to get allies to take any further action against America. This should reduce the possibilities of a war. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Why Is It So Hard To Find A Job In Nigeria? by wman(m): 1:36pm On Jan 10, 2020 |
franchasng: Because there are no enough jobs to employ the available Nigerians ready and willing to work.
And the reason for the above is because Nigerian government for many years refused to make policies that encourages the startup and growth of small scale and medium scale businesses and industries.
The resultant effect is the skyrocketing rate of unemployment and under-employment in Nigeria today, and it will continue for the next centuries to come until Nigerians develop sense and start voting the right leaders with right vision and goal.
In Nigeria, a young man or woman will have a beautiful business idea and skill....but he or she cannot get capital to kickstart his or her viable business idea unless he or she is from a rich family background that can fund his or her business ideas.
Nigerian banks will claim they give small business loans, but the collateral is out of reach of young entrepreneurs, and even the interest rate can kill big/established corporations like Google, Microsoft or Facebook if at all they succeed in taking the hell-fire bound loans offered by Nigerian banks.
What about basic amenities that support and encourage the growth of businesses like steady electricity supply, good road network, affordable internet, etc, do they exist in Nigeria NO!!
It is small scale and medium scale businesses that grow a nation, not the big companies....any booming economy you see anywhere in the world, go and check, there are uncountable number of successful small scale businesses.
Nigerian government need to focus on helping more small and medium scale businesses and industries to spring up and grow faster....that's the only way out, not through N-Power or increase in minimum wage. You need more big businesses to solve unemployment. A big business will hire hundreds and thousands of people that small businesses won't hire. The basic problem is that the big businesses are folding up. Companies are pulling out of Nigeria. Go to Ikeja Industrial Estate, a lot of companies have left. Companies like Nestle, Unilever and P & G have moved some product lines to Ghana and other African countries. So, they laid off the casual workers that run those factories in Nigeria. Check out any developed country, it is the big businesses that hire more. Countries try to attract big investors to their country to reduce unemployment. Opposite is the case in Nigeria with unfavourable policies. Small businesses have now replicated each other to the extent that they are no longer as profitable as they should be. Everywhere you see multiple barbing salons, tailors, canteens, shoe makers, photocopying centres, bakeries, pure water companies, drink sellers etc. Many of the owners have faced reduced profits. Because, lack of innovation is making everyone to sell the same thing. Big businesses are the solution. Not small businesses. |

daddytime: Iran has sent a message to the US and it's allies that their missiles can evade the US air defence system after all, and this should call for worry from all involved.
This is a huge statement. The air defence system covers North America and not US military bases around the world. |

Good sub from Lampard.
Only that it leaves our weak defence more porous.
But we needed the sub to gain control of the midfield and the game. |

I'm creating this thread for everyone to update others on gaming events and happenings in Nigeria.
It will be a good way to boost gaming in Nigeria and boost the attendance of gaming events in Nigeria.
Also, those who are looking to challenge others with their gaming skills and prowess will get events that they can attend.
It's also a good way of letting others know what Nigerians are working on concerning game development in Nigeria.
I'll try to keep the thread as updated as possible regardless of how tight my schedule is.
Please don't post random gaming news or ads. |

Jesse25: Foolish Nigerians talking about American as if American or the donald trump cares about then... The most stupid once are the once saying "God bless America " when they can't even repeat such gestures to their sick country who need it most, my question is why is Nigerian taking this news personal.. Because American politics is more interesting and educative than Nigerian politics. Politics is fun and relaxing for many of us. We'll rather discuss politics than argue who is better between Ronaldo and Messi or Davido versus Wizkid. Plus American politics affect the rest of the world. It affects our import/export, our GDP, the ability of many Nigerians to emigrate and the money we receive from our brothers in Obodo Oyinbo. Do you know that last year, about $16B came into the country from relatives based overseas. That is a significant contribution. |

Unfortunately i can't help your situation either. He gave a very solid argument. You couldn't counter him. Now you're resorting to the 'he's bitter' line. What has this administration done with all the money borrowed so far? 4 years, 7 months and counting. What infrastructure is on ground compared to the budget and promises? |
