NYSC / Nysc Appeals For More Funding To Train Corps Members On Entrepreneurship Skills by wnycom: 10:49am On Jul 19, 2015
Trains 500,000 corps members in 3 years
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Tuesday said it has trained over 500,000 corps members under its reinvigorated Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme since its inception in 2012.

The NYSC said out of the total number of trained entrepreneurs, over 1,600 had become full-time entrepreneurs, managing businesses with varying degrees of success across the country.

The scheme’s Director, SAED, Mrs. Mary Dan-Abia, who disclosed this in an interview with The Guardian in Abuja recently, appealed to the Federal Government to fund its skills acquisition and entrepreneurship programme to reduce unemployment among youths.

Dan-Abia said more youths would have been trained by the scheme, if it is fully supported by the Federal Government, particularly in the training of manpower and establishment of skills centres.

According to her, the Federal Government’s support is vital, as it would also help the youths roaming the streets in search of job placements to acquire skills for self-employment.

She dismissed the insinuation that many graduates were not resourceful, stressing that some of them had displayed great entrepreneurial skills but lacked the financial support to establish themselves.

Dan-Abia noted that the management of the scheme was worried by the statistics of unemployment among graduate youths in the country.

She said the NYSC SAED programme was unique as it emphasised on imparting skills and knowledge that would make beneficiaries self-reliant and resourceful.

Dan-Abia identified lack of resource persons, poor funding and other economic factors like accessibility to loan facilities as some of the challenges facing the programme.

The director said the corps remained committed to supporting the Federal Government’s policy aimed at addressing the problem of youth unemployment.

“The NYSC, through the programme and engagement of more stakeholders, hoped to assist graduates to depend less on non-existent government employments.

“NYSC supports corps members to develop good business proposal that could be supported by the Bank of Industry, Bank of Agriculture and the Central Bank of Nigeria,” she said.

The director said the NYSC was not specific about the kinds of training to give to the participants, stressing that the different areas of the economy were covered in the programme.

Dan-Abia said the NYSC would continue to contribute its quota towards building a team of vibrant and resourceful graduates that would be ready to support the task of nation building.

Career / Itf Begins Two Million Annual Jobs Scheme For Nigerian Youths by wnycom: 1:37pm On Jul 15, 2015
THE Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has finalised a structure that will provide two million jobs for Nigerian youths yearly, through its skills acquisition and employment creation programme.

The Director-General, ITF, Mrs. Juliet Chukkas-Onaeko, disclosed at the weekend, that the Fund planned to achieve the feat by collaborating with the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA).

She spoke at the unveiling of the ITF-NECA Technical Skills Development Project for Ruff ‘n’Tumble/Betti-O School of Fashion Design, in Lagos.

She said: “The plan is to train two million youths annually and put them to work. Already, we have hit the ground running to ensure that we even do much more. We are also coming up with the youth lounges at all our offices across the nation because we want to better engage the youths.

“If we catch the youths and direct them to focus on productive skills and businesses, we would be doing this country a lot of good.”

According to her, this is in line with the passion of the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to reduce the unemployment level in the country through job creation.

She added that the Fund had also concluded a survey to determine the top 100 businesses of interest to youths in a bid to sharpen their skills in preferred areas and also help actualise their goals in the area of providing job opportunities that will benefit both the youths and Nigeria at large.

She applauded the complimentary roles played by NECA, which had created more training facilities across the country using its member-organisations’ training facilities to train the youths.

“What we do is that we reach out to companies that are already contributing to the ITF and have a structured system and a state where they can carry out training programmes within their facilities. We work through NECA, engage them and shortlist them to provide training for our youths,” the DG explained.

In her remarks, the Project Director, ITF-NECA Technical Skills Development Project, Mrs. Helen Jemerigbe, noted that prospects for employment under the skills programme were very high.

“The skills being addressed by the project were identified through a survey. The programme is so big that we need so many more Nigerians to participate in it,” she said.

Currently the ITF is in the process of finalising the first National Skills Gap Assessment survey for the country, in partnership with the United Nations Development Organisation. It is a nationawide skills gap assessment to first uncover what skills are lacking in the labour force, what skills are needed by employers in the market now and what skills will be needed in the future.

President Muhammadu Buhari said Thursday in Abuja that his administration will take all necessary actions to significantly improve the operating environment for domestic and international companies in Nigeria as part of its efforts to boost employment in the country.

At an audience with the new Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Sadanobu Kusaoke, President Buhari said that the Federal Government, under his leadership, will welcome greater investment inflows from Japan and other developed nations in support of its plans to revitalize the Nigerian economy and create more jobs.

The President told Mr. Kusaoke that his administration will particularly welcome more trade and economic cooperation with Japan in the manufacturing, technology and agricultural sectors.

“We look forward to a stronger partnership with your country in many areas, especially in technology, which is now the major driver of job creation across the world today,’’ President Buhari told the new Japanese ambassador who was at the Presidential Villa to present his letters of credence.

Career / Samsung, nlng Train More Nigerian Youths On Shipbuilding To Enhance Local Content by wnycom: 11:33am On Jul 02, 2015
Samsung Heavy industries Nigeria, in partnership with the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, has sent over 60 Nigerian youths for training at the SHI shipyard in Geoje, South Korea.

This is coming barely one month after the company trained about 57 Nigerians who were certified as shipbuilders and other aspects of ship development.

The beneficiaries left the shores of Nigeria on Friday last week, and according to SHI, the move is aimed at pursuing the local content policy of the Federal Government in the oil and gas sector,

The General Manager, SHI in Nigeria, Mr. Frank Ejizu, said that the company remained determined to driving the local content initiative through empowering Nigerians on training programmes to bridge the gap in engineering proficiency in the country.

He said, “The initiatives are actually human capacity development. We have a project with NLNG, which calls for training Nigerians in Korea for manning the NLNG vessels. So, that is why we had shortlisted these youths to go to Korea for training.

“The enlisted youths would be trained in different aspects of shipbuilding, fabrication, painting, scaffolding, welding, naval architecture, ship design, fittings, mechanical and maintenance and other related shipbuilding development.

Career / It Expert Urges Nigerian Youths To Make Use Of The Opportunities In Digital Tech by wnycom: 5:14pm On Jul 01, 2015
Director of Information System Academy, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Dr. Pius Onobhayedo, has urged Nigerian youths to take full advantage of the opportunities in the digital technology to create jobs for themselves.

Onobhayedo, who also teaches digital technology at the PAU, said most Nigerians had consigned themselves to being social media consumers, without exploring the value chains in the digital evolution.

He described the technology as the biggest innovation of all time, saying citizens of developed countries were thinking of the value they could add to existing platforms while Africans, including Nigerians, had chosen to remain mere users of other people’s ideas.

He said, “I do not like talking about social networking sites because they are just an aspect of the underlining innovation – digital technology. Besides Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatApp, Instagram and several other existing platforms, more will be created. The biggest thing is probably not yet in the market. Whatever it is, I don’t know. But the innovators have not rested.

“It is up to Nigerian youths to remain a consuming community, which is what those who created the networks want, or join the innovators. When all you do is to chat and network on different sites, you have missed out the opportunities in the unlimited digital space.”

He urged youths to look beyond the social media buzz in order to see the prospects digital tools held for them. According to him, when people over-concentrate on social media, they miss the most critical aspect of the trend – financial empowerment.

Onobhayedo described digital advancement as a convergence of three worlds – knowledge, people and service. He regretted that Nigerians spent more time on different platforms, thus enriching foreign countries, than they do creating things that have lasting value.

“Each time you go on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, you want to meet with people; you want to see their profiles. That is essentially a world of people. But when you go to Google Search Engine, you are in another world – that of knowledge. And when you visit Konga, Amazon and Jumia, you are in the world of service.

“They all hold different opportunities, and they are driven by innovation. But you would have found out that most Nigerians are largely consumers across the different categories. Though a few Nigerians are tapping into the systems, the opportunities are still largely untapped. There is nothing you cannot sell on the cyberspace today, making the service community a green area for job opportunities,” he stated.

Onobhayedo, who holds a PhD in digital communication, said the next set of Nigerian billionaires would come from tech-savvy entrepreneurships if the evolving opportunities were harnessed.

He urged relevant stakeholders to encourage the younger generation to begin to migrate from consumption to the innovation aspect of the new media.

He noted that the technology had negative effects, but urged Nigerians to pay more attention to the gains, as no country could stop the evolution.

Unique ideas, he said, were the major drivers of the development of the Internet. Hence, he said Nigerian youths would need to think outside the box to create fast-selling products and applications that were revolutionising the Internet.

The tech expert observed that some local big firms might be consumed by digital evolution unless they migrated seamlessly and adopted principles that supported their success stories online.

“You cannot afford to erode your brand identity due to digital evolution. But unfortunately, that happens regularly. Companies lose their glamour and names because they do not transit properly.

“You must put your brand identity into consideration when adapting, otherwise there could be unintended consequences. Standardisation of processes is key. That is what every company must do when transiting,” he explained.

Education / Tetfund To Invest N180m Tackle Youths Restiveness In Anambra by wnycom: 4:55pm On Jul 01, 2015
THE Tertiary Education Trust Fund says it has concluded plans to invest N180m on “Boy Child Education” programme at Federal Polytechnic Oko as way to check youth restiveness in Anambra State.

A member of the Board of Trustees of the Fund, Chinedu Onu, stated this on Tuesday at the polytechnic when a team of TETFUND officials visited the Rector of the institution, Godwin Onu.

The BOT member said TETFUND had already allocated N180m to develop skill acquisition centres in the polytechnic, explaining that his team was in the institution to inspect location for the project.

Onu said the programme was aimed at creating opportunities for male children who did not have the opportunity to further their education because of the rigorous process of gaining admissions into the tertiary institutions to get certificates in their chosen careers.

He added that under the arrangement, the programme would bring youths together to train as carpenters, mechanics, masons, bricklayers, hair dressers and sharpen their skills and knowledge on their careers.

According to him, certificates from the institutions will be awarded to participants.

Five tertiary institutions in the country, according to him, have been chosen for the programme in the South-East, and the pilot scheme starting in Okopoly will be run by the private sector.

He said, “Federal Polytechnic Oko is a child of TETFUND because of its financial discipline and hard work. Virtually all our programmes are implemented in full capacity here. So the Rector who is in a hurry to develop this place makes our work easier.

“This institution should serve as an example to other institutions whose funds are trapped due to their inability to execute previous jobs. We are impressed with the speed of development in the institution.

“I must also commend the cordial relationship that exists between the Governing Council and the management as it creates a conducive atmosphere for speedy development of the area,” he added.

The rector of the polytechnic said he was elated by the choice of his polytechnic for the pilot scheme of the programme noting that engaging the youths through such programmes would curb crimes like armed robbery, kidnappings and cultism.

Nairaland / General / Youth Group Urges President Buhari To Protect Mdgs Projects Across The Country by wnycom: 1:32pm On Jun 29, 2015
A group, Africa Youth Patriotic and Development Mission (AYPDM) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to consolidate on the various community projects under the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) across the country. Mr Adefila Kamal, the Executive Director, AYPDM, made the call at a news conference in Abuja on Sunday to draw support for the achievements of the MDGs with the help of development partners.

He said the government of President Buhari should safeguard the achievements of the MDGs by offering adequate protection to projects executed under the programme in different localities across the country. Kamal said the Federal Government should provide fund for conditional grants for the realisation of the MDGS in order to facilitate its mandate.

The director commended the efforts of Mrs Precious Gbeneol, the immediate past Senior Special Assistant to the President on MDGs, and development partners such as USAID, DFID, UNDP and UKAID, among others, who contributed to the achievement of MDGs in the country. He urged development partners to continue to support the MDGs, adding that this would help to fast track the overall achievement of the goals.

According to him, the MDGs are common factors that bear a broad spectrum of impact on the masses and the government should do all within its power to support it. He said “efforts have been made by the immediate past head of the grants scheme through innovative projects and programmes which include the village health workers scheme, rural women empowerment. “Others include access to safe drinking water and ensuring access to quality education is eased for the common man.” Kamal urged the incumbent head of the Conditional Grants Scheme (CGS) to consolidate on the sterling records attained by his predecessor.

He advised heads of communities where the projects were located to ensure the security of the facilities for which government and international partners had spent large amount of resources in funding.

Politics / Youth Group Support Customs Boss Advice To Fg On Proposed Monthly Youth Stipend by wnycom: 5:47pm On Jun 26, 2015
The Organization for Youth Betterment and Empowerment found this piece on Vanguard and we think this is a good advice to the Federal Government to rather use the proposed monthly youth Stipend to create employment and lure youths into agriculture and production.

The Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has dismissed reports that the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dikko Inde Abdullahi, allegedly kicked against the removal of printed textile materials from import prohibition list during the recent forum between the Service and Textile Value Chain stakeholders.

The NCS dismissal is contained in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller Wale Adeniyi,

Adeniyi stated: “The attention of the Nigeria Customs Service has been drawn to a story published in a newspaper which misrepresented the Comptroller-General of Customs Dikko Inde Abdullahi as having criticized the Federal Government’s plan to pay a monthly stipend of N5,000 to unemployed Nigerian youths.

‘’ The report also insinuated that the CGC kicked against the removal of printed textile materials from import prohibition list during the forum between Nigeria Customs Service and Textile Value Chain stakeholders.

“The Comptroller-General was quoted out of context and grossly misrepresented, hence the need to make clarification in the interest of those who may have been misinformed.

‘’The CGC never criticised the proposed stipend payment as recently announced by His Excellency, the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

‘’As a loyal public servant of proven experience, he could never have criticised an idea that seeks to bring welcome relief to the teeming unemployed youths in this country. Contrary to what was reported, the Comptroller-General welcomed the idea as a medium term strategy with the ultimate goal of encouraging our youth to embrace the production sector.”

Adeniyi explained that while proffering options to revamp the ailing textile industry, the Customs had lamented the neglect of agriculture, especially cotton production, which had in the past created huge employment for the youths.

Jobs/Vacancies / Association Of Miners Moves To Create 300,000 Jobs Yearly by wnycom: 9:46pm On Jun 24, 2015
Miners under the aegis of Mining Association of Nigeria, MAN, have resolved to create about 300, 000 jobs in the sector. This was disclosed by the Chairman, MAN, Alhaji Sani Shehu, at a news conference with theme: “Mining is the Answer,” where he said that the association has also developed a five-year Strategic Development Plan, SDP, for the mining sector.

He said the SDP will help create as well as contribute up to 10 per cent to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP. He said Nigeria has at least 33 viable solid minerals deposits, all of which contribute less than one percent to the GDP as compared to 10 percent generated from the sector before oil was discovered.

Shehu said: “The solid minerals industry is witnessing a renaissance and its relevance to Nigerian economy can no longer be downplayed, especially at a time when critical, diverse investments are needed to enhance the economic empowerment of our people.

“The Miners Association of Nigeria, MAN, has developed a five-year Strategic Development Plan for the mining sector which would create 300,000 jobs annually as well as contribute 10 per cent to the GDP. “The vast occurrences of solid mineral resources in each state of the federation are yet to be accorded due attention; collective and affirmative action is desired in order to fully exploit the enormous prospects that exist.

“South Africa, which is less endowed than Nigeria in this regard, depends on solid minerals exploitation for 18 per cent of its GDP and has created over one million jobs.” The MAN boss also recalled measures taken by the former administration to reform the mining industry by creating institutions which provided a platform for the sector in line with industrial best practices.

He said even with the reform, the sector still had challenges of inadequate skilled labour, inadequate geological and bankable data, multiple taxation as well as inadequate logistical support and a host of others. He appealed to the government in the area of reliable geosciences data, and also urged the new administration to include the solid minerals sector under the local content law, which will enable human capacity building and facilitate mining cooperatives into clusters.

Meanwhile, he stressed the importance of adequate funding for the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, for its departments to be strengthened to perform optimally according to their statutory functions. He also called on the government to promote local manufacture of mining equipment and create the enabling environment to allow operators to access funds more easily and at single digit interest rates.

On Saturday, the youths screened no fewer than 12 indigenes of the region as possible replacement for Kuku as the Chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Implementation Committee.

The position of the Ijaw youths was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of their summit in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and signed by Ebikuro Ayaowei of the Niger Delta Youth Coalition.

The Ijaw youths, drawn from various groups in the Ijaw nationality, said Daunemuagha was the best among the pack of 12 names being considered as possible replacement for Kuku.

They, therefore, advised President Muhammadu Buhari to accept Daunemuagha to work with his government, insisting that Daunemuagha’s choice would promote confidence and sincerity of the administration towards the region.

They said their screening was carried out with due consideration of the policy statement made by Buhari during his inauguration.

Their communiqué noted, “The coalition of Ijaw youths and groups endorsed Famous Daunemuagha as the most qualified Niger Deltan for the position of Chairman, Presidential Amnesty Programme, given his background, commitment and the active role he played in the Niger Delta struggle.

“The coalition is therefore calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint Daunemuagha as his Special Adviser on Niger Delta and Chairman of PAP.”

Jobs/Vacancies / Unemployment Rate Rose To 7.5% In First Quarter Of 2015 – Nbs by wnycom: 9:58am On Jun 08, 2015
The National Bureau of Statistics on Sunday released the country’s labour statistics report for the first quarter of this year, stating that the unemployment rate had increased from 6.4 per cent at the end of the fourth quarter of 2014 to 7.5 per cent.

In the report made available to our correspondent, the NBS stated that the increase in the number of the unemployed by 861,110 persons or 18.43 per cent between the fourth quarter of 2014 and the first quarter of this year was responsible for the increase in the unemployment rate.

It stated that in the first three months of this year, the labour force population increased to 73.4 million from 72.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2014, representing 0.69 per cent increase.

This, it noted, implied that 504,596 economically active persons within the age bracket of 15 to 64 entered the labour force.

The report stated, “Within the same period, the total number in full employment (did something for at least 40 hours) increased by 0.88 per cent. The number of underemployed in the labour force during the review quarter, however, declined by 6.46 per cent, resulting in a reduction in the underemployment rate to 16.6 per cent (12.2 million) from 17.9 per cent (13.1 million) in Q4 2014

“The number of unemployed in the labour force, on the other hand, increased by 861,110 persons or 18.43 per cent between Q4 2014 and Q1 2015 resulting in an increase in the unemployment rate to 7.5 per cent in Q1 2015 from 6.4 per cent in Q4 2015.

“Accordingly, there were a total of 17.7 million people between ages 15 and 65 either unemployed or underemployed in the labour force in Q1 2015.”

The report added that the fact that the number of people that became unemployed (861,110) in the first quarter of 2015 exceeded the number that entered the labour force within the same period (504,596) was an indication that some persons previously working in full employment lost their jobs, while others previously underemployed and doing temporary, or part-time work ended whatever they were doing and accordingly now did not have anything to do for at least 20 hours a week during the reference period.

The NBS had last month revised the country’s labour statistics, stating that as a result, the number of those unemployed had dropped from 16.07 million or 23.9 per cent in 2011 to 4.67 million or 6.4 per cent at the end of the fourth quarter of 2014.

The bureau had, following the recommendation of a committee chaired by Prof. Sarah Anyanwu of the University of Abuja, adopted 20 hours per week for the computation of the unemployment rate as opposed to the 40 hours per week previously used.

The Statistician-General for the Federation, Dr. Yemi Kale, had during the review said the old methodology presented a major challenge to the bureau as those who worked for less than 40 hours were classified as unemployed.

Ekiti youths under the aegis of Ekiti Youths Advancement Forum (EYAF), have shown their support to the new peace deal initiated by Governor Ayodele Fayose to resolve the on-going crises in the state house of assembly involving the 19 APC lawmakers.

In a statement signed by the secretary of the group, Miss Oluwatoyin Adeniyi, the group said, the meeting held by the two parties as a good sign of democracy and the best interest of Ekiti people. The impeachment moves by the APC lawmakers is not the best motive for the state as this causes panic and dissatisfaction among Ekiti people.

The group said, since the 19 APC lawmakers have less than 2 weeks to complete their tenure, the lawmakers should take the governor’s peace deal in the best interest of Ekiti people, as this will give the lawmakers more political advantage in the future.

The group describe, Governor Ayodele Fayose as a magnificent peace loving leader, committed to sustainable democracy and peace of the state, while urging political parties in the state not to take advantage of unfortunate events happening in the state right now as a cheap political point, but to support the state government and Ekiti people to overcome this trial time.

Politics / Yoruba Youth Group Backs Saraki For Senate President by wnycom: 7:31pm On May 27, 2015
The Yoruba Youth Assembly on Thursday pleaded with the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to direct their representatives in the 8th Senate to elect Senator Bukola Saraki, as the next Senate President.

The group, in a statement by its spokesperson, Mr. Rotimi Opeyeoluwa, said the APC should make Nigerians proud by presenting to them the best person for the office of the Senate President.

The group said, “The APC cannot afford not to give the nation the best from within its ranks for the post of the Senate President, and with due respect to other contestants, Saraki is the best man for the job.

“Saraki represents an opportunity for the Senate to live true to its finest hour since the return of democracy in 1999. A natural leader with a flair for the welfare of the people, Saraki will make a definite mark in the annals of our country.

“It is time for a new generation of leaders to take charge of the Senate. Saraki is in that mould and to see him lead the Senate would be like watching a grand master in charge of an orchestra.”

The YYA noted that electing the right man remained a great task that the recently elected senators must take cognisance of, on account of the high expectation of Nigerians for quality governance.

It noted that the required synergy, which the Presidency would need, must resonate with the thinking of the leadership of the National Assembly, especially the Senate leadership, for the strategic partnership needed to forge a sound working relationship in the interest of the country.

The jostling for senate leadership, according to the youths, had provoked a floodgate of commentaries on the suitability or otherwise of perceived front runners.

The group said, “Several names are being bandied around but one that stands out on account of his level of preparedness is Senator Abubakar Saraki, the scion of the late strongman of Kwara politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki.

“Given the majority status of the APC in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, it is expected that the party would, in line with the time-tested tradition of both chambers, elect one of its own as the Senate President and the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives respectively.

“For the Senate Presidency, one name that has remained a recurring decimal in all of the permutations is Senator Bukola Abubakar Saraki, a political giant by all standards.”

Nairaland / General / Nigerian Police Sabotage Hausa's In Ekiti To Burn Ado-ekiti Main Market by wnycom: 6:40am On May 22, 2015
It will be recalled on wednesday there was a fight between the drivers and the Hausa's in Ekiti, the governor intervene and people thought normalcy returned to the town. The Hausa's threatened reprisal attack yesterday and people fled the market and the governor declared curfew from 6pm to 6am, but it is unfortunate the hausa's succeeded in burning part of the market. On driving 4 kilometres as at 1.30am from Adebayo area to the Market place, we didn't meet any police enforcing the curfew.

And only met few police at the scene of the targeted market. Why can't the police protect the market and enforce the curfew?

Politics / Ekiti Apc Should Apologize To Ekiti People – Ekiti Youth Group by wnycom: 4:51pm On May 05, 2015
A youth group named Ekiti Youth Advancement Forum {EYAF} has called on the All Progress Congress in Ekiti to apologize to the people of Ekiti for misrepresenting and subjecting them to various false claims since the 2014 gubernatorial election in the state.

In a statement signed by its public relation officer, Miss Oluwatoyin Adeniyi, the group described what is happening in the state as unfortunate, simply because the All Progress Congress in the state refused to accept they failed Ekiti people when given the opportunity, in turn Ekiti people voted them out.

The People of Ekiti have maintained their dignity and uprightness by always voting out any party that did not live up to their expectations. It is disheartening to see a political party misrepresent Ekiti people because they are trying to satisfy their party leaders at the national level. Politics should not be played to blackmail the electorates whose support and votes will still be sought after.

The group said, rather than APC in Ekiti to accept they failed Ekiti people who voted for them in 2007 and 2011 respectively, they are busy using media to pervert people of Ekiti saying they voted for stomach infrastructure. It is unsuitable to choose selfish interests of some leaders in their party over Ekiti people whom they will ask for their votes in coming elections.

The electorates should be the priority of any political party. It will be recalled that Ekiti has only 3 commissioners right now, because of unwillingness of APC lawmakers to work with the governor in the state, which has been hindering the governor to work efficiently in serving Ekiti people that elected him.

EYAF further said, it will be well deserved for Ekiti APC to respect the wish of Ekiti people and allow peace in the state. Ekiti people want a stable and peaceful environment after the tensed election period. Hence, asking for the impeachment of the governor people massively voted for and who have barely stayed in office for 6 months is uncalled for by the APC lawmakers which only have four weeks to complete their tenure, which is causing panic in the state.

The APC lawmakers should embrace the peace dialogue opened by Governor Ayodele Fayose to work towards the development and peace of our dear state.

The selfish interests of some leaders at the opposition party in the state should not be made a priority over Ekiti which belongs to all of us. We will be delighted to see elections well contested in the state and not the type of politics that will drown a party like APC in Ekiti.

The opposition should stop playing politics of the media to satisfy their national leaders or some of their members’ personal interest, the politics should be at the grassroot for people that will vote for them in elections. It is unfortunate that the media will not vote for this party, rather it is the same people they traumatized by saying they voted for stomach infrastructure that will

Jobs/Vacancies / Tan To Start Industrial Park For Job Creation by wnycom: 10:26am On May 05, 2015
PLANS are underway by the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) to establish industrial parks across the country for employment generation purposes.

A statement issued in Abuja by its Director of Media, Afam Ilounoh, said the 2015 general election might have gone, but Nigerians also witnessed the public advocacy arm of the campaign organization.

He added: “The primary objective TAN is advocate for good governance and the transformation of Nigeria. However we will continue to build on the legacies of President Jonathan.

Apart from this, TAN will embark on its other objectives, which are establishment of industrial parks in six geopolitical zones of the country before doing the same in every State of the federation.

As we speak now our foreign partners have shipped the first phase of the park, which will be installed at the regions that are ready to partner with us to provide job and training for their teeming population. The industrial park will also serve as a vocational training centre for the youths on different things among which is waste to wealth mechanism, business management and others.”
