striktlymi: I believe the major concern for the Church is the loss of faith for both the individual getting married and the kids.
stil on this your "faithful catholic" matter.. Lol
tho its said that the church wil always requires the catholic party to be faithful to his or her faith..

as for/to the kids..

He or she wil promise to do all in his or her power to have their children beptized and raised in the catholic faith..

Anyways, i some how agree with you point because reverse could be the case as to what the church requires for the catholic party

italo: Of course, the Catholic Church teaches that anyone of any religious belief can be saved if he sincerely doesn't know Catholicism to be the fullness of truth.

...And a Catholic is allowed to marry any human being of the opposite sex who is not married to another person.

Only, the Catholic Church doesnt encourage inter-faith marriages for obvious reasons.
the catholic church doesnt encourage inter-faith marriages thus doesnt condemn it aswell.. What are their vital reasons for not encouraging inter-faith marriages??
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by woky: 11:14am On Dec 17, 2013
1corinthians 7:12-14

To the rest is say (i, not the lord ) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. For unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is they are holy .

My questions are:

Do the catholic church acknowledges the fact that an unbeliever can be save??
If YES, can you marry an atheisthuh

Dnt 4gt that love is strong when anwering the second question grin

To all

pls note that your catholic faith is more important than any relationship

lets try to marry a spouse that will understand our faith, because our faith is the foundation of our world

marry a spouse that will at least allow you to share your joyful expectation at christmas, your sorrow during lent and your glorious joy of easther

dont marry a spouse that sees the catholic faith and teachings as evil becous it wil affect the christain life/belief of ur children..
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by woky: 8:06am On Dec 17, 2013
italo: Still on the 'mixed-marriage issue.'

I would do everything humanly possible to marry a Catholic and avoid marrying a non-Catholic...but if it is God's will that i marry even an Atheist, so be it.

Here are some of my reasons for preferring a Catholic at all costs.

A faithful Catholic sees marriage as indissoluble but many other sects: some protestants, Atheists etc dont have a problem with divorce. E.g Chris Okotie. So if i marry one of them and she divorces me in court, i'll be in a dilemma because i'd still be married to her in the eyes of the Church.

A non-Catholic wife is very likely to teach the kids things that are contrary to the faith...and outright sinful.

A faithful Catholic will increase my faith while a non-Catholic might even weaken it...knowingly or unknowingly.

There are many more+
exactly what i would hav tell Sal.C supposing she said YES to the question i ask her

tho the church did not condemn interfaith marrage

Sal C: Is the above question meant for Sal Chuh
yes!
Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by woky: 9:36pm On Dec 16, 2013
Sal C: What's your stand on the issue?
my standhuh

Marriage is the process by which two people(man and woman) who love each other make their relationship public , official and permanent. Therefore marrages btwn non-catholics or what ever religion are considered valid

one question for you..

As a lady, can you marry a non-catholic?

Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by woky: 8:17pm On Dec 16, 2013
striktlymi: I am quick to speak out against any form of perceived or actual descrimination because it is quite wrong to see first, one's creed, culture, Religious or Irreligious affiliation etc before seeing the individual as a human being.

We are one under God and based on this premise, it would be grossly unfair to ask a Catholic single to base his or her assessment of a future spouse on whether the individual is a Catholic or not.

Our assessment of a future spouse should be based strictly on the individual's qualities and not his private orientation because a good husband or wife will NEVER deprive you of that which you hold dear.

The most Holy faith we share as Catholics is a gift that each one of us should cherish. Anyone who tries to deprive us from this gift can't be said to be a great marital candidate; just as we are not supposed to deprive people of what they hold dear.

Thus, assessing an individual for marriage based on the Catholic way could be done without necessarily descriminating the individual on the grounds of the individual's religious or irreligious affiliation.
hmmmmm..
