Enigma: ^^^ In other words, are you agreeing with the mumus, erm, people who made "Vatican I" that people who do not submit to the authority of the Roman Catholic "popes" are heretics?
Meanwhile as to this your statement "The lord said to Peter. Your ar Peter and upon this rock i wil build my church and the gate of hell wil not come over it":
Even some very senior Roman Catholics including Roman Catholic "church fathers" say that the "rock" is Peter's confession of faith. Going to the "church fathers" more generally (i.e. including those who are NOT Roman Catholics) you will find a division of opinion: some say the rock is Peter's confession of faith; others say the rock is Jesus Christ Himself.
I can give you lots of examples but for now think about this statement --- from a Roman Catholic "church father".
Per Ambrose of Milan:
"He, then, who before was silent, to teach us that we ought not to repeat the words of the impious, this one, I say, when he heard, ‘But who do you say I am,’ immediately, not unmindful of his station, exercised his primacy, that is, the primacy of confession, not of honor; the primacy of belief, not of rank. ...
This, then, is Peter, who has replied for the rest of the Apostles; rather, before the rest of men. And so he is called the foundation, because he knows how to preserve not only his own but the common foundation. ...
Faith, then, is the foundation of the Church, for it was not said of Peter’s flesh, but of his faith, that ‘the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.’ But his confession of faith conquered hell. And this confession did not shut out one heresy, for, since the Church like a good ship is often buffeted by many waves, the foundation of the Church should prevail against all heresies."
Now see one more thing that he says; I pick this because it is what I have been telling you as the basis on which a Christian can call another Christian --- brother!
".... this general faith – that Christ is the Son of God, and eternal from the Father, and born of the Virgin Mary."
You see! Nothing to do with any "popes"!
RUBBISH.!! No wonder my fellow brothers has been ignoring ur post since all dis while. But let me make it clear to you. As a faithful Catholic which i am and(by God grace)wil ever be. I accept the one faith of the Catholic Church and REJECT the non-catholic beliefs CASE CLOSE! |

What about the people on the Christian Chat thread? Are you also not able to call them your brothers and sisters?
If so, I say to you again: then, who is causing division?
funny you lets see it dis way.. The lord said to Peter. Your ar Peter and upon this rock i wil build my church and the gate of hell wil not come over it.. On him (Peter) he builds the church and to him he gives the command to feed the sheep. If someone should desert the chair of peter(which u did) upon whom the church was built, can he stil be confident that he is in the church |

chidachris: My dear brother pls be informed that the bible never originated from the catholic church. Mind you the bible was compiled in the 4th century by a group of 70 scholars called the septungans while the catholic church was officially reported to have started in the 5th century with pope gregory I (590 - 604 AD) as the first pope. The only reported version of the bible to have been written by the vatican is the good news bible (published by missionary of st. Pauls) with deutronomical books. I'm a catholic myself so let's get facts straight see them.. Ndi catholic |

Enigma: I believe in the commemoration of the last supper that Jesus Christ instituted. I also believe in the biblical teaching to confess our sins to one another. (EDITED)
OK: now so are you able to call me your brother or are you only able to regard me as one of the "separated brethren"?
Let me be upfront: I am ready to call you my brother --- if you believe in Jesus as the Son of God and God the Son born of the virgin Mary?
So what say you?
when u ar ready to answer my questions, then we can talk |

Enigma: @woky
In case you missed it, I reproduce below a question that I first asked you yesterday. Any answer? -----------------------------------------------------
@woky
Bros, I hope you will answer me one question. Again, this is meant to help us understand the causes of all this denominationalism.
Also please note that I will be most grateful to hear an answer that you have thought through yourself rather than one based on what any institution or body might have said historically.
Question:
Myself and two other friends believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and God the Son born of virgin Mary. We meet regularly to pray and sing hymns together. Would you call us {your} brothers or would you call us {your} "separated brethren"?
{Please, kindly give reasons/explanation for your answer, thanks.} Despite the fact dat we both profess faith in christ our head, bt do you belief in the BODY AND BLOOD of CHRIST(Holy Eucharist) , do you believe in the Sacrament of Confession Answere the above questions 1st |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do Many Catholic Girls Find It Difficult To Offer Good Hand As Sign Of Peace by woky: 9:53am On Oct 17, 2013 |
boik: I have noticed over the years that many of our fellow Catholic girls find it difficult to offer a good or proper handshake when the Priest says 'let us offer each other the sign of peace'. Many of them just reluctantly offer you their hostile fingertips and keep a straight face. At times I can't seem to understand what they feel like. The guys are always willing to offer the gesture. I don't know but I think if a Pastor in a Protestant Church says something like that everybody(girls and boys) will key in fully and cheerfully. Our Catholic girls why na?? good observation bro, lets hear 4rm the gals.. |
