Politics › Re: Pressure Mounts On Yahaya Bello, Set To Dump APC For Accord Party- Kogiflame.com by WonderManly(m): 1:58am On Apr 25, 2019 |
IHANLU: Governor Yahaya Bello’s hope of securing the ticket of his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the November Kogi governorship election is under threat as a result of criticism of poor performance.
The governor due to uncertainty that becloud his ambition for second term is set to dump the party for Accord party.
It was reliably gathered that Bello who is presently facing a difficult task to secure the party’s governorship ticket has been petitioned by individual, groups and even members of his party before the National Working Committee of APC of bad administration.
The APC flags hosted in the premises of government house including the one hosted at the main entrance gate to Lugard House have been removed.
The Accord party secretariat was allegedly renovated by the governor. Although the Accord party was his alternative party in 2015 when he lost the APC governorship primary to late Prince Abubakar Audu.
According to sources, Bello was said to have disclosed to some of his closest allied in his cabinet that some cabal in Aso Rock advised him to move to another party since forces were against him for the ticket.
According to him, he has been assured of their support if he contest the governorship election in another party.
The sources also disclosed that the governor of Benue State, Samuel Otom a good friend of Bello also advised him to dump APC for another party so that he can contest for the November 2 governorship election.
Our reporter also gathered that the National Secretariat of the party received over ten petitions submitted by individuals, various groups and also within the party demanding that Bello should not be given ticket for second term.
One of the group who made their statement available to our reporter, a concerned group under the name Kogi Rescue Mission (KRM) are of the opinion that Bello’s “abysmal style of leadership has further subjected the state to political and economic hemorrhage.”
The group who embark on a peaceful protest led by its President, Hon. Ali Dan to the National Headquarters of the APC with numerous placards which carried various save our soul (SOS) messages, the group described the Yahaya Bello led administration as a threat to people’s welfare and the economic prosperity of Kogi state.
In their protest letter to the national leadership of the party, the group highlighted various anti-people activities of the state government ranging from suicidal deaths amongst the state civil servants whose salaries have not been paid for many months, institutional dearth in the land, misuse of state resources, hunger and perceived molestation of people who believed not to be supporters of the present administration in the state.
“Salaries of civil servants for November and 60% of December, 2017 are yet to be paid, this is despite receiving #20 billions as bailout funds, over #21 billions from the Paris Club refund and money from the monthly federal allocations as well as the internally generated revenue.
“As a result of non payment of salaries, about 3 civil servants took their own lives because of their inability to meet up with their family needs, while over a hundred have died due to lack of funds to continue treatment,” the protest letter read. Dan Ali who spoke on behalf of the protesters also said that, “Businesses have folded up, people are leaving for another state to seek refuge and workers have become paupers, feeding from hand to mouth. You will believe me that on no account will the people support and vote for a Governor that operates draconian policy of this nature.”
Hon. Ali who decried the dearth of public institutions in the state also told APC national leadership that, the state workers have been turned to IDPs without recourse to dignity of labour as enshrined in the Labour acts.
“Workers in Kogi State are now living like IDPs, Kogi State has become hunger/poverty capital of the country as nothing seems to be working due to the sorry state of salaries.
“In Kogi state today, there are no public primary schools for the past 2 years as they only exist in structures without teachers to teach the pupils due to non payment of salaries, no primary health centers for the past 2 years, pensioners are not been paid for the past 12 months, there’s no judiciary for the past 8 months due to non payment of their salaries and no development any where in the state.
Everything in Kogi state is in comatose and the people of Kogi state are despondent,” he added. He also appealed to the National Leadership of the APC not to risk the party’s ticket to Governor Bello, adding that, with his appalling style of leadership, the ruling party has no electoral destiny in the state.
“We are calling on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, the APC National Working Committee led by his excellency Comrade Adams Oshiomole and the National Leader of the APC, His excellency Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu not to risk the ticket of the APC for Yahaya Bello.
“If there is Integrity in our party, the APC, that means Bello will not feature in the forthcoming Kogi State s Governorship election with APC ticket. At the moment Kogi State is owing over #140 billion naira and the Governor recently applied for another loan of #30billion naira from the Central Bank of Nigeria which will make debt profile of the State to rise to #170 billon naira.
“Once again, we are crying for the help of President Muhammadu Buhari and the national working committee of the APC, led by Adams Oshiomole and the national leader of the APC Bola Ahmed Tinubu to salvage Kogi state from this extreme slavery Alhaji Yahaya Bello led adminstration.

Politics › Re: 25 Blunders Of Governor Rochas Okorocha by WonderManly(m): 8:22pm On Apr 22, 2019 |
ngoziclara: ONWUASOANYA FCC JONES
Governor Okorocha of Imo State will be completing his Constitutionally allowed two terms of eight years in about five weeks from now. Many writers and commentators have taken different lines in reviewing his performance in these eight years.
The governor, as the most talked about politician in Nigeria today has expectedly gotten more reviews than any outgoing or re-elected governor. For the purpose of succinctness, I will outline just 25 out of over 1000 blunders of the governor, that have earned him as much hatred from retards as he is loved by progressives. This is Easter, and I will not lie. Before God, all I have put here are true and verifiable:
1) For twelve years of PDP’s reign in Imo State, there was not a single government built hospital in Imo State, except the Imo State University Teaching Hospital completed by Udenwa. Governor Okorocha in eight years built about 30 new Specialist Hospitals, including a world class Ochiedike Diagnostic and Dialysis Center and a Cancer Palliative Care Center.
2) As at 2010 when Governor Okorocha campaigned for the governorship of the State on the promise of free and qualitative education, every single soul in the PDP today dismissed him as a liar and openly told the world that free education was impossible anywhere in the world.
3) Governor Okorocha did not only implement the free education policy as he earlier promised in Primary and Secondary Schools, but also went a step further to implement same in universities, making Imo the first and only State in the Federation to implement a free education policy. Even Federal Government owned tertiary institutions pay school fees till date.
4) Governor Okorocha employed over 30,000 new civil servants in Imo State without asking anyone of them to pay a dime as application fee or sorting money before they could get the jobs. During Ohakim, the less than 1500 original beneficiaries of the 10,000 jobs fraud paid application fee and a number of them were said to have paid bribe to some top government officials at the time in order to get the jobs. Till date, even Federal government jobs are mostly paid for.
5) Governor Okorocha created over 200,000 jobs through the private sector, by making Imo conducive for private sector investments. Governor Okorocha opened up huge opportunities in the real estate sector, thereby creating a slew of jobs and wealth making opportunities for the youths. Data has it that more than 10,000 new buildings have sprung up in the last eight years, in the Owerri capital city alone. Imo State has also been rated as the biggest building materials market in Nigeria and the fastest developing State in Nigeria after Lagos and Abuja.
6) Governor Okorocha has given youths more opportunities in government than any other governor before him or any other governor in Nigeria.
7) Governor Okorocha’s administration has built over 1000 new classroom blocks in the last eight years.
Governor Okorocha built 12 new tertiary institutions in the State and upgraded Imo State University, which was the only State owned university to a higher standard.
9) Governor Okorocha employed more than 2,000 teaching and non-teaching staff in Imo State University and became the first and only governor in the history of the State to initiate and complete any structure in that university.
10) Governor Okorocha established the new Imo City Schools, Imo Girls’ College and Imo Boys’ College in Owerri.
11) Governor Okorocha is the first governor of Imo State since 1999 to create brand new roads. More than forty brand new roads were created across Imo State within the last eight years. These roads include; the 1st to 5th Inland roads, the new Jacob Zuma Road and several others.
12) Governor Okorocha built the first road tunnels in Imo State. These tunnels have gone a long way in decongesting traffic in Owerri and reducing the rate of traffic accident on the roads of Owerri.
13) Governor Okorocha completed the first ever flyovers in Imo State. The Okigwe road and Orlu road flyovers are indelible legacies of the Rescue Mission administration under Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
14) Governor Okorocha created new sets of millionaires and power brokers in Imo State, mostly from among youths who did not have wealthy backgrounds, but are capable and competent.
15) Governor Okorocha allowed press freedom, the way it has never been experienced before in Imo politics. Governor Okorocha is the most insulted governor in the country, yet, he is the most friendly with his critics.

Since when has Senate President and Speaker become the decider of a Presidential Choice Sell your nonsense to the hypocrites.....But when Tinubu supported Lawan and Gbaja in 2015, did he want to remove PMB in in 2019? It is you MESU, a glaring disaster that he was trying to prevent and he was right about you. You almost destroyed the party but the people destroyed you. Tinubu is making frantic efforts to ensure that the sun of a disaster like you doesn't rise twice in one day! Every sensible person knows that the ONLY reason we Buharists support Lawan and Gbaja is because we don't want a NASS that will make it difficult or impossible for PMB to perform and thereafter turn around to accuse PMB of not delivering on his promises and join forces with enemies to destroy the party!

hisexcellency34: Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state and Senator Dino Melaye, the lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district in the National Assembly cannot work together because their ideologies for joining politics are different.
This was stated by Kingsley Fanwo, the Director-General of Media and Publicity to the governor while responding to claims by the Senator challenging Bello to invite President Muhammadu Buhari to the state to commission projects, saying the governor is yet to initiate and complete any project since assuming power more than 3 years ago.
According to Fanwo, while Bello is in politics to develop the state, Melaye’s intention for coming into politics is to share money and blackmail others. “On Dino Melaye, we always try to avoid giving him undue attention. The ideologies are different. Yahaya Bello is in politics to develop, Melaye is in politics to share and blackmail”.
“So, there is a very sharp difference between the two of them and that is why it is difficult for the two of them to work together because the ideologies are quite different”.
He, however, appealed to Melaye not to plunge the state into crisis with his governorship ambition.
“Now that Melaye said he wants to be governor and he is campaigning, I hope he will give peace a chance and not throw our state into crisis because as a government, we have invested so much insecurity and whenever there is crisis, it always leads to a reversal of the gains we’ve recorded in the area of security of lives of our people”. https://www.independent.ng/why-yahaya-bello-melaye-cant-work-together-fanwo/

Politics › Re: Keyamo Is Right! WAEC Certificate Not Compulsory For Presidency! by WonderManly(m): 3:04pm On Apr 18, 2019 |
vixpal: Although one requires a minimum of a first degree to work as a Teller in a bank or to even be considered for the post of a security guard in some companies, regrettably, one does not need a WAEC Certificate to contest for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
CLAIM: You do not need A WAEC certificate to become the President of Nigeria
CONCLUSION: TRUE
FULL STORY:
The Spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress [APC] Presidential Campaign Council for the 2019 Presidential election, Festus Keyamo, kicked off a storm in the polity when he declared on a Channels Television programme that one does not require the West African Examination Council [WAEC] certificate to become the President of Nigeria.
Keyamo, who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria was responding to allegations that his principal, the President, does not possess the WAEC certificate.
Keyamo told his interviewer that the President possesses the certificate, a fact attested to by the fact that officials of WAEC came to the Presidential Villa to present the certificate to the President.
He, however, went on to say that a WAEC certificate is not a requirement for qualification for the office of President.
Is Keyamo right?
The answer is in the affirmative as the supreme law of the land, the 1999 Constitution (as amended) supports his position. Section 131 of the Constitution states the qualifications for the office of the President.
According to the section: “A person shall be qualified for election to the office of President, if:
He is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; He has attained the age of 40 years; He is a member of a political party He has been educated up to at least school certificate or its equivalent” DUBAWA has deliberately highlighted “at least school certificate or its equivalent.” The logical question that follows is to ask what is meant by the underlined words.
To understand this and put the issue in perspective, DUBAWA examined the interpretation section of the Constitution.
This is Section 318 of the Constitution. According to the Section: “School Certificate or its equivalent” means:
A Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, City and Guilds certificate; or Education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or Primary Six School Leaving certificate or its equivalent and – (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years and
(ii) attendance at courses and training institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totaling up to a minimum of one year, and
(iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and
4. any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission.”
Conclusion:
Although one requires a minimum of a first degree to work as a Teller in a bank or to even be considered for the post of a security guard in some companies, regrettably, one does not need a WAEC Certificate to contest for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
