IgbereTV reports that Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has congratulated the world boxing champion, Anthony Joshua and said that the Ogun State-born boxer has done the nation proud by reclaiming all the titles in the re-match with his opponent, Andy Ruiz Jr.

He also lauded Joshua for his determination, hard work, resilience and focus, which he described as virtues ingrained in the DNA of Ogun people.

The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin on Sunday, said, “I congratulate Anthony on this successful outing.

“May he continue with the winning streak ad infinitum.

“The world heavyweight championship in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night ,kept sleep away from the eyes of many admirers of AJ worldwide, especially, people of Ogun State.

“The Sagamu-born boxer outclassed Andy Ruiz Jr over 12 rounds to compensate them and reassured us that hard work pays.

“My joy is unquantifiable; our government has always classified sports as not only a unifying factor but [also as] socio-economic imperative.”

The governor attributed the rematch outcome to the manifestation of God’s love for the people of the state who, he said, prayed ceaselessly for AJ that the nightmarish experience of New York earlier in the year be reversed.

He added, “God still answers prayers. We return all glory to God almighty for granting our hearts’ desires and ceaseless prayers for our brother, Anthony Joshua, to regain the IBF, WBA and WBO titles.

“All of us in the state, irrespective of our religious affiliations, prayed for his success.

“That the feat happened in Saudi Arabia doubly excites me. God answered us.

According to the governor, Joshua has made us proud by exhibiting these traits and the ‘can-do spirit’ of Ogun people.

“This victory should inspire other aspiring champions of Ogun State origin to do more.

“On our part, we will provide the necessary incentives to all our ambitious young men and women to become world champions in all considerable areas of sports, not only in boxing.

“We are poised to fix our stadia, upgrade facilities, train sportsmen and women, motivate coaches and develop talents, starting from the grassroots.”

United States senator, Cory Booker, has joined Senator Bob Menendez, a ranking member of the US Senate's Foreign Relations Committee, in condemning the rearrest of Omoyele Sowore in court.

On Friday, Menendez had said the brutal manner in which Sowore arrested was a blatant miscarriage of justice and promised to have his country intervene on the matter.

Booker, who also reacted on Friday, described the situation as dangerous and promised to assent to any move that will uphold the rule of law in the country.

The 24 members of Zamfara state House of Assembly have received official vehicles from the state government an official has disclosed.

Malam Yusuf Idrid. the Director-General. Press Affairs to the Coy Bello Matawalle disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gusau on Tuesday.

NAN reports that each of the lawmakers received one Toyota Camry 2010. V6 Limited Edition. Idris,who did not disclose how much the vehicles cost the government said the vehicles were presented to the lawmakers by the Governor last week.

You know provision of official vehicles to the state lawmakers is a constitutional provision this is part of the commitments of the present administration in the state to improve welfare of the lawmakers to ensure effective legislative and executive relationship in the state

This is in addition to other vehicles given to the Principal Officers of the House earlier by Governor Matawalle, he said.

Idris said the state government under Gov. Bello Matawalle is committed to maintaining a pod relationship with all arms of government for the development of the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the state House of assembly. Malam Mustafa Jafaru-Kaura denied the allegation that the vehicles were given to the lawmakers on loan. Jafaru-Kaura said each of the 24 lawmakers of the House is entitled to one official vehicle. 'Apart from one official vehicle to each of the 24 lawmakers. each of the Six Principal officers of the House is also entitled to Prado Jeep the PRO said. An official of the state House of assembly who spoke to NAN on condition of anonymity said the 24 vehicles cost the state government N420 million.

According to him each of the vehicles was procured at the cost of N17.5 million.

A Facebook user, Deborah Ifunanya from Enugu State showed off the Marital items she received during her bride price ceremony at the weekend,praizenews report.

While some Facebook users stated that the ceremony called IKPANRI is a normal traditional ceremony practised in Awgu, Enugu State, others agued that it shouldn't be practised anymore as the bride has the right to wave it off for her man. Some even complained that the items is too much for a Man to provide.

Have been wondering if there is a difference between the two. My reason is this: we believe that Jesus is God and in St. Paul's letter he said " Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ"

Also Elizabeth filled with the Holy Spirit said " who am I that the mother of my Lord should visit me".

So people is there any difference.

With the way our electoral system is going,it's clear PDP/other political parties may not win any major election due to brazen rigging.

The best option is to push for signing into law the amended electoral law.

If not no opposition party especially PDP will win.

For PDP: Forget about the amended electoral law, forget about 2023 presidential election cos u will not win.

If u like prepare the hardest, u are wasting time and energy.

At worst u go to tribunal and waste more moneyeeeee!
