Here, the more SHL tests you take, the more you get familiar with them and the higher your scores become. The reason for this is that the tests are repetitive! There is an illegal strategy that UK peeps finally figured out. I will tell you the strategy...I know you want to hear...Okay, the strategy is that they target companies that specifically use SHL tests and then they apply to say about 20-300 of these companies. The trick here is that they get to take a minimum of 20 SHL tests. And as I earlier said, these tests are repetitive so that the more one does them, the higher the chances of getting better scores next time. SHL tests are the same around the world, so you too can easily employ this strategy. In fact, start applying to those UK companies today. Some of them invite applicants for the SHL online tests almost immediately, so you can use this opportunity to practice very well before your company of choice asks you to take the SHL test.

Companies that use the SHL tests are Barclays, JP Morgan, ICAP, Tullett Prebon, ExxonMobil, Trafigura, Renaissance Capital, Royal Bank of Scotland, BNP Paribas, Nomura, Nationwide and many others. Apply to these firms. At least one of them will invite you for an SHL test almost immediately. Use this chance to solidify your knowledge of real SHL tests. Do you mean that SHL tests do not change as to say that the test taken in one company will be the same for another? Please kindly clarify further.

Secondly, can i apply to a UK based company in consideration for a permanent position even as am based in Nigeria? What challenges would i have in getting such foreign jobs right here from Nigeria?

Has anyone heard about the Bloomberg Institute and its assessment test? They claim the test provides a leverage for employers to make recruitment decisions regarding candidates for the financial services sector worldwide.

They are coming to my school here in Nigera this June to conduct the Bloomberg Assessment Test. I will like to know how relevant they are in the Nigeran terrain? Has anyone taken this test before? Do employers here in Nigeria recognize this test as being relevant in their employment decisions?

Can we share ideas on how one can ace GMAT, GRE, SHL and all other employment tests?

I tried my hands on some sample gmat questions sometime ago, and i must confess, it was looking so daunting for one to make very good scores under a limited time, but i still feel one can do very well if the right strategy in tackling them is adopted.

So am using this opportunity to call on those that have taken these tests at one time or the other and have passed them or have scored very high in them to please share their strategies on how to go about passing these tests with high scores. Contributions from everyone will be welcomed.

I have this question which am seeking answers on relating to my project work. The question goes like this: "If there is a likely boost in the use of e-payment channels by organisations in their transactions, what are the likely challenges to be faced by auditors when carrying out their audit functions (with emphasis on information systems/IT audit).

I would really appreciate comments from everyone as i look forward to making this project a memorable one.

If this is sound, the controls around the electronic payment which you have tested will give comfort in relying on that as evidence. Then the bank statement will show all transactions thus making it easier as there are fewer cash/cheque transactions to vouch.

Guess you took the term "paper trail" literally?

yes, they do follow the money as evidenced by source documents which somewhat facilitate the audit process. But in a cashless society, some of these transactions may generate little(in the case of Pos) or no source documents(in the case of web/mobile payment platforms). So in such cases, how would the auditor still carry out his audit of say, an organisation makes payment for supplies worth N2m through a web based payment channel? These are the areas i really want to get more insight in.

In view of the fact that the central bank is currently pursuing a cashless policy in the economy and requires individuals and businesses to embrace the initiative. This has prompted my decision to take up a project work on ''the roles of auditors in a cashless economy''

You can start writing them while still in school, lots of guys these days become chartered before graduating, so dont be left out.
You can always register for ICAN/ATS using your O/L results (check www.ican-ngr.org for more details) and ask around for lecture centres around you or better still prepare to study on your own. Peace!

Thanks again for the info. Though am currently in my finals and hope to be a corper someday. I'd definitely want to partake in such programme only hoping it would be available and also in full swing in other orientation camps around the country if i dont get to be posted to Lagos for my service.

I just got thru with ICAN and intend registering for ACCA. But my ACA certificate is not yet ready(which i need to claim exemptions) since i dont intend doing induction anytime soon.

I want to know whether i can register and claim exemptions from F1-F9 with just my ICAN result slips without any hitches. And wd also like to know the best route to register, whether online or from their office in Nigeria, cos i was at their office and they said the ACA certificate is compulsory to submit for registration but someone told me that i could still register and claim exemptions from F1-F9 with my result slips if i register online, how true is that.
