⚡Russia has reportedly removed S-300V4 surface-to-air missile systems from the disputed Islands of Etorofu and Kunashiri which are off of northern Japan. Satellite imagery analyzed by Yu Koizumi showed the air defense systems visible in September 2022, but have likely been re-deployed to be used in the war with Ukraine. Additional long-stored equipment from the Far East is speculated to have been packed and sent out west as well.

⚡At night, the Russian Armed Forces hit an auto repair company with Ukrainian Armed Forces equipment in Odessa. The Ukrainian side reports that as a result of a loitering munition attack on the facility, “valuable cargo transport” was destroyed, and a fire broke out at the repair plant. ⚡Russian Armed Forces Advance on Multiple Fronts near Kupyansk. In the ongoing conflict, serious battles are unfolding for the control of Synkivka, as reported by war correspondents. Our forces are exerting efforts to push the adversary out of this populated area, although a complete takeover is yet to be confirmed. Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are constructing defensive fortifications beyond Synkivka and mobilizing reserves. ⚡Russia's new Black Sea naval base alarms Georgia. The Kremlin's plans have raised fears that the base could drag EU-hopeful Georgia into Russia's war in Ukraine and harm Tbilisi's own plans for a port on the Black Sea. "We unanimously and firmly condemn Russia's occupation, militarisation and other actions aimed at annexation of the occupied regions of Georgia, a new expression of which is the opening of a permanent Russian naval base in Ochamchire port," read the MPs' statement. Weeks earlier Abkhazia's de facto leader, Aslan Bzhania, had confirmed an agreement had been signed with the Kremlin on a permanent naval base in the Black Sea port of Ochamchire. Abkhazia is internationally recognised as part of Georgia, but it has been under the control of Russian and separatist forces since the 1990s. Georgia's foreign ministry has condemned Russia's plan as "a gross violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia", although authorities in Tbilisi have played down the significance of the permanent naval base, describing it as not an imminent threat. 1 Like

⚡Argentina's new government says it will weaken the value of its currency by more than 50% against the US dollar. It is part of the "economic shock therapy" that President Javier Milei says the country needs to fix its worst crisis in decades. Economy Minister Luis Caputo also announced deep cuts to public spending. They include a reduction in fuel and transport subsidies and the freezing spending on some major government contracts and advertising. Mr Caputo said he had inherited the worst economic legacy in Argentina's history and he was taking steps to avoid hyperinflation. "We are going to be worse off than before for a few months, particularly in terms of inflation. And I say that because, as the president says, it is better to tell an uncomfortable truth than a comfortable lie," Mr Caputo said in a televised address. Argentina is battling soaring inflation, with prices rising by around 150% over the last year.
