Hi Nairaladers,

I've noticed these acen-like spots on my face since around 5 years ago. Then, I didn't pay much attention cause I was erroneously convinced into believing it was caused by eating too much oil. Well, I cut down my oil consumption totally and those spots remain there.

The shocking part is they exist only around my eyes. The remaining of my face is smooth except around my eyes.

I have used several ointments including Ytacan and Funbact- A, still no difference.

Recently, somebody prescribed an ointment called "RETIN-A" for me but before using it, I wish to seek advice from the good people of this forum.

Please, do I go ahead to buy the RETIN-A or there's a better option?
I need advice, please.

Completed piece. Bic ball point on Lambeth cartridge paper 170GSM
Second work in my ongoing series #hairseries
Title : Morgan freeman
Size: 23.5cm*29.5cm
Duration: 60hrs approx

My bad habit of leaving an almost finished work incomplete played out here.
Lately thoughts of why I stick to small works for my hyper realism ran across my mind, I discovered I really am not patient enough to work on large works yet. This work had elements of bitterness and sweetness while working on it, learnt much about patience and I know I am a step closer in conquering my imperfection.

Family / Re: HELP! My Brother Is Too Dull by wrose(m): 5:50am On May 29, 2020
Gundel001:
Hi good day my fellow Nairalander please I will really need your experience about this issue. Please help me read to the end as it is a little bit long.
My junior brother is 14 years old and to be sincere I haven’t seen anybody as dull as him. I don’t know if it is natural but I just can’t understand why someone at that age could still be struggling with very simple arithmetic. My brother can’t write 1 – 150 correctly at 14. He seems too dull; note he attends one of the best private school around our area, though I know you might say maybe education is not his way but even if you want to drop out from school you should know some basic things like money, time, multiplication and so on but my brother doesn’t know anything I must say, even to write his name correctly is a problem. It is making everyone unhappy lot of money is being spent on lesson teachers and other things for him still no improvement.
I am a student of one of the top federal University in Nigeria same as my other siblings even at both secondary and undergraduate level we were always above average so I can’t say his problem is genetic. I really wants to know what is the problem with him nairalanders. After I finished secondary school I once taught some pupils in primary school though there were dull ones too there but with time I could see improvement unlike my brother i always try to teach him from time to time but it kind of frustrating as he doesn’t even seems like he will ever grab anything and he doesn’t behave like he wants to learn anything,, he makes it seems as if he is not interested book or arithmetic at all …we all tried talking to him endless time to always read any time he his less busy but he never does except he is being forced. He rarely talks, he loves to keep to himself always, he doesn’t have interest in anything unlike we the others that are die hard football fans, most times my mom will tell him to even go out to play and mingle he will not still want to go, he prefer to stay at home seating all day without reading or doing anything, even if it is to draw or play football he wont
This matter is not making everyone happy at home we don’t even know the solution to his problem again, as in imagine having a child that is 14 years old that doesn’t know the difference between 17 and 71 it is just so bad….. we don’t know if his case is mental or spiritual. please nairalanders I know there are child experts in the house or anybody who have experienced something like this before what do you think is the problem and possible solutions to the problem your contributions are welcome
lalasticlala mynd44 please help me push this pleaseeeeee

Your brother is likely suffering from dyslexia since he has problems differentiating between numerics like 17 & 71 as u claim.Autism isn't the problem as some people claim here, infact, autism should make smarter. I d advise u see a specialist

In normal circumstances, life provides a binary option of 1 or 0.

But there is no certainty for certain so that's the reason we invented probability.
Lol I know bro. Since u said 2/3 was wromg which is clearly what I lld have gone for I had to device another means. 2/3 would be the answer then, can't be 1/2

Provide reasons for your answer.

The probability is 1
Travel / Re: Nigeria Is A Failed Miserable Country by wrose(m): 8:18pm On May 20, 2020
cronsberg:
See this one o. I am the op in question and yes I am 30 years old, and yes I do know the realities of life probably more than you. You see, I never said to make it in an instant, you are just the one mouthing it, and you think I don't know the cost of travel? Maybe you are highly mistaken o as I have travelled abroad severally, so I know all the expenditure and peculiarities involved. Again, stop presuming, I am certainly not depressed or anything, to the contrary, I am in the Nigerian sense living very good, I have a very good paying job, I have my own manageable ride etc but you see, I am not delusional. I can clearly with my own two eyes see that this country is disgusting and disfunctional. You talked about using 5million to setup solar power in my house instead of travelling with it, what then is the use of the government if I will have to provide electricity by myself? Also you thinking as a typical Nigerian will conveniently not think of the rest of the people. If I am able to provide electricity for myself, what about the remaining citizens of this country? you see where the Nigerian mentality is so messed up right? And if you were exposed enough, you will realize that it's not only about electricity. What about health? should I also build a hospital for myself too? what about quality education? what about security? water supply? Maybe I should sink my own borehole right? if I will have to do all these by myself, what then is the benefits of being a Nigerian? and again, if I can afford to provide all these to myself, what about more than 90% of Nigerians that can't afford such? I will live you with this, it's not a matter of how much you will spend to immigrate, or whatever, it's about dignity of life, future prospects for your children, comfort of life and so many more. Nigeria has failed it's citizens woefully
Apt bro!!. You clearly wrote my mind.

cheesy Ma, there is no profession or handi work that doesn't have money. It all depends onthe amount of exposure to useful and vital knowledge and information on the finacial and money making aspect of that profession. Sadly this isn't always emphasized in art school. Most times they are always concerned with building their skills and creativity and leave them to sort themselves on how to make money. How do I know this? I never went to an art school (I am a self-taught artist) and with what I have observed, all of those other ways of making money as an artist that I listed earlier are done mostly by self taught artists because of the exposure and freedom, as u get to learn exactly what u want to and no academic curriculum is shoved up ur ass.
Trust me, those artist u know that u think and maybe are poor would most likely contain a greater percentage of those who finished from an institution, or those who aren't taking art as their means of livelihoodThe problem is ignorance and neglect on their part on how to make money off their skills.
I was once like that but now it is a different story grin

Artists with all their talent live from hand to mouth !
Haha, that is a misconception and stereotype. I agree with you that that a good number of artists live from hand to mouth but trust me when I tell you a good number too are making a hell of a money from it. It goes beyond making portraits and commissioned works for people. Most times that what people here in Nigeria think that is how all artist's make there money. I can agree back in the olden days there was less tech development hence that mentality. Thank God for technology as this has made artist sell their skill easily through:
- Selling their personal works through art collectors round the world where art is valuable
- Selling art courses as a tutor on great sites like udemy and others
-Selling their art prints to people around the world
