Health / Care Of The Kidney by Wummmy01: 9:48am On Feb 18, 2020

Good morning lovely friends . Its good to have you with me today. I hope you've been enjoying the ride? Today we shall continue to care for our Kidney because its highly important!! At times we do some things ignorantly, forgetting that our actions or inactions can make or mar our health, that's why this enlightenment is very important.

*10 Common Habits That May Harm Your Kidneys*

It's not too late to unlearn these damaging behaviors. Here is a list of ten common habits that you might not realize are putting pressure on your kidneys.

*1. Overusing Painkillers:*

Over the counter pain medicines, such as NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), may alleviate your aches and pains, but they can harm the kidneys, especially if you already have kidney disease. Reduce your regular use of NSAIDs and never go over the recommended dosage.

*2. Abusing the Salt Shaker:*
Diets high in salt are high in sodium, which can increase blood pressure and, in turn, harm your kidneys. Flavor your foods with herbs and spices instead of salt. Over time, you may find it easier to avoid using added salt (sodium) on your food.

*3. Eating Processed Foods:*
Processed foods are significant sources of sodium and phosphorus. Many people who have kidney disease need to limit phosphorus in their diets. Some studies have shown that high phosphorus intake from processed foods in people without kidney disease may be harmful to their kidneys and bones.

*4. Not Drinking Enough Water:*
Staying well hydrated helps your kidneys clear sodium and toxins from the body. Drinking plenty of water is also one of the best ways to avoid painful kidney stones. Those with kidney problems or kidney failure may need to restrict their fluid intake, but for most people, drinking 1.5 to 2 liters (3 to 4 pints) of water per day is a healthy target.

*5. Missing Out on Sleep:*
A good night’s rest is extremely important to your overall well-being and, it turns out, your kidneys. Kidney function is regulated by the sleep-wake cycle which helps coordinate the kidneys’ workload over 24 hours.

I will love to round it up here, to be continued tomorrow. Pls do not forget that prevention is better and cheaper than cure.

You are the only true custodian of your health. Stay blessed and healthy!! Much love

Bonjour dear healthy me networkers. How was the weekend, hope twas enjoyable? How was your night too? I pray that this new week will usher you and I into great blessings and unlimited favor.

Today we will continue our discussion on one of the vital organs in our body which is the KIDNEY. Today I will be sharing with us *tips for healthy kidneys*. I hope you will get value in this post

The kidneys are important organs that affect many other body parts, including the heart.
Follow these tips to keep them working efficiently:

*Avoid extra salt*
Eating a lot of salty foods can disrupt the balance of minerals in the blood. This can make it harder for the kidneys to work properly. Try swapping out processed foods (which usually have a lot of added salt) for whole foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, lean cuts of meat, nuts

*Exercise*
High blood pressure is a known risk factor for chronic kidney disease. Regular exercise, even for just 20 minutes a day, can help reduce blood pressure.

*Stay hydrated*
Drinking plenty of water helps the kidneys perform one of their most important functions: removing toxins.

*Use medications with caution*

Regularly taking certain over-the-counter medications, such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, can cause kidney damage over time. Occasionally taking them is fine, but work with your doctor to find alternatives if you have a condition that requires managing pain, such as arthritis.

*Know the risk factors*
Several things can increase your risk of developing a kidney condition. Make sure you regularly have your kidney function tested if you have diabetes, are obese, have high blood pressure, have a family history of kidney disease

That will be the end of our discussion today. Pls ensure you take good care of your kidney. Drink enough water, exercise daily, avoid salty foods and use medications with causion. Do have a blessed day ahead

Our body is our temple and we need to take care of it. Think of your body as your physical shell to take you through life. If you repeatedly abuse it, your shell will wear out quickly.

Life is beautiful and you don’t want to bog yourself down with unnecessary health problems. Today, your vital organs may be working well, but they may not be tomorrow (God forbid in Jesus name) . Don’t take your health for granted. Take proper care of your body.

How healthy are you? Do you have a healthy diet? Do you exercise regularly? Do you drink at least eight glasses of water a day? Do you get enough sleep every day? Do you live a healthy life?

Today I just wish to encourage you to put your health and wellbeing in proper check for great positive outcome this year. I pray that your health will not fail you in Jesus name.

Take action today

Remember: you are the only true custodian of your health

Prevention is better and cheaper than cure

Together we will

Do have a productive day ahead
