If you sleep with him now, and you get your job back; then two months later he wants you to sleep with his dog - What will happen then?
Politics / Re: I Saved Nigeria N244 Million, I Could Have Stayed In A Five-star Hotel-Etteh by WWJD(m): 1:19pm On Sep 21, 2007
I didn't read/hear the statement, but I think she meant the hotel bill would have been 682m + 244m which is 872m.

trust me nigeria pays crazy hotel bills like that
Romance / Re: I'm Attracted To My Married Boss by WWJD(m): 12:50pm On Sep 21, 2007
This is what the bible says(Prov 6: 25-29)

25 Do not lust in your heart after her [his] beauty
or let her [him] captivate you with her [his] eyes,

26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread,
and the adulteress preys upon your very life.

27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap
      without his clothes being burned
?

28 Can a man walk on hot coals
      without his feet being scorched?

29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife; [woman's husband]
no one who touches her [him] will go unpunished.

This is what I say

When everyone finds out, nobody will give you your due credits, respect for your accomplishments in the company.  Also what can a married man offer you? Not his heart/love because it belongs to someone else.

What can the attraction lead to? sin, doom, disgrace, shame, sin, low self-esteem.

Conclusion

The fact is nothing positive can come out of it.  Always think long term not short term.
Career / Re: Sleep With My Boss Or My Resignation? by WWJD(m): 12:29pm On Sep 21, 2007
Thank God for technology [phones, PDA, mp3, i-pod etc], simply record audio or visual conversation, set him/her up if you have to.

Then you get him/her to promote easily maybe double promotion the you force him/her to resign (of course except he owns the company).

sounds like blackmail but it really isn't

Role model = Pastor Sam Adeyemi

but don't go often anymore because its quite far from where I stay now but my heart is constantly with the church + read the weekly message on the net.

@ehie07 you sound more like a church goer than a christian, no matter the church you go don't get carried away by what you see.  Sprituality is a thing of the spirit (get it?  Spirit - u-ality) and not a church thing

Long live Sam Adeyemi

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: I Owe This To God.2 Jobs Last Week After 3 Years by WWJD(m): 12:51pm On Sep 11, 2007
Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.

I know exactly what you are talking about, the key is to realise you have probably not done anything now that you have not done in three years. TH esupernatural force behind it should get all the glory as you gave rightly done.
Religion / Re: Where Is Lady Evangelist Bola Odeleke? by WWJD(m): 11:29am On Sep 10, 2007
She remarried (so she changed her name) another pastor and now divorced (so I don't know what name she uses now). She still pastors her church around Okota (but I don't think it is as big as it used to be).
Religion / Re: Nigerian Christians Are Worse Than Nigerian Pagans In Crime And Evil by WWJD(m): 11:43am On Sep 05, 2007
@Orikinla, regarding your first post, I can't draw a line between your definition of a Christian & a church-goer.

A church-goer is not automatically a Christian, and you rightly quoted that ' by their fruits you shall know them'. The scenarios described (from their fruits) sounds more like those of church-goers. It is probably true that most people are plain church-goers who do not have a personal experience with the Lord and are not Christians.

If the above is true, your title should have been something like "Nigeria church-goers are worse than Nigeria pagans in crime and evil".

In my personal opinion the title is misleading as it suggests that true Christians who worship the Lord our God in spirit and in truth are worse than pagans.

Nevertheless, I totally agree with the contents of your post, a look at the fruits of Nigeria when compared to the number of Church-goers is also a testimony of your post,
Religion / Re: Is God A Sleeping God? by WWJD(m): 11:06am On Sep 05, 2007
@iyeyemi No matter how holy you are (even pastor, bishop) trials and tribulations must come.

I find it amusing that you refer to the Job story as conveniently made up bible stories: Made up by whom, me, you or the pastor? The bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit and has been tested and trusted over the years.

God is supreme, above all, the alpha and omega, the King of kings no matter what you say, think or do.

The only lie you have believed all these year's is that you can achieve anything by yourself.

Did you read my first post on this topic?
Religion / Re: Is God A Sleeping God? by WWJD(m): 10:30am On Sep 05, 2007
@ Iyeyemi, being a devout churchgoer does no guarantee your salvation but a personal experience with God.

Whatever you go through can not be worse than what Job experienced (read the book of Jon from the beginning to the end again and again), you will discover that when Satan was dealing with Job, my God was not in the equation but allowed it to happen so he can take the glory at the end of it. What you are experiencing right now is similar to what Job experienced when he cursed the day he was born. What you need to do is go past this and look forward to the end.

A true devout Christian would know that the bible clearly says that trial and tribulations would [certainly] come but in all we should be steadfast in our faith and in all situations we should thank the Lord.

Maybe you should search much deeper within and honestly do a self-review and realignment to see if you are truly working according to the word of the Lord and obeying all his instructions to you.

When the Love / salvation of the Lord came it came free, but when the blessings(health, protection, wealth, prosperity, peace, provisions etc) came they came with a condition which is that we obey all his commandments (Read Deuteronomy 28). What you are going through could be as a result of not fully obeying the Lord (towards the end Deut 28).
Religion / Re: My Parents Wants To Hear God's Voice Before I Marry by WWJD(m): 1:42pm On Sep 04, 2007
If I get the picture right, your dad is your pastor and he doesn't want you to marry a particular guy.

From what I believe. your parents wanting to hear the word of God might be an excuse, according to a book I read (How to find the perfect will of God) God usually reveals instructions (regarding action or inaction) to the individual involved and not through a third party.

I think what you need to do is find out the real reasons your parents does not want you to marrry him. Then you seek the face of the Lord and Hear from him yourself.
Your parents are probably asking themselves some of these questions, think about the answers they probably arrived at.

1) Is he really a christiam / born again
2.) Is he working or what is the source of his income. Legal?
3. Your own visible level of maturity
4.) Are you through with your education?
5. ) Do you really know his family members / history
6.) Would he hinder or enhance you spiritual life?

The bible categorically says that christians should not marry unbelievers.

I have being a daily guest of Nairaland for a long while now, and I have read a number of disscussions and none has moved me to the point of registering to drop a point but this one.

The GOd I worship is the 'I AM THAT I AM' he nevers sleeps nor slumber.

The bible says in the presence of God there is fulness of joy, so if you don't experience joy in your life that means God is not present in your life/situation.

Below is a story that explains it all!

[b]Did God create everything? THIS IS GOOD!!!!!

You'll love this student's retort to his atheistic
professor. Wonderful & useful logic when witnessing to
nonbelievers.

A University professor at a well known institution of
higher learning challenged his students with this
question. "Did God create everything that exists?"

A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"

"God created everything?" The professor asked.

"Yes sir, he certainly did," the student replied.

The professor answered, "If God created everything; then
God cr e ated evil. And, since evil exists, & according to
the principle that our works define who we are, then we
can assume God is evil."

The student became quiet & did not respond to the
professor's hypothetical definition. The professor,
quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that
he had proven once more that the religious faith was a
myth.

Another student raised his hand & said, "May I ask you a
question, professor?"

"Of course," replied the professor.

The student stood up and asked, "Professor, does cold
exist?"

"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists.
Have you ne ver been cold?"

The other students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not
exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider
cold is in reality the absence of heat. Everybody or
object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits
energy, & heat is what makes a body or matter have or
transmit energy. Absolute zero (-460F) is the total
absence of heat; & all matter becomes inert & incapable
of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We
have created this word to describe how we feel if we have
no heat."

The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"

The professor responded, "Of course it does."

The student replied , "Once again you are wrong sir,
darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality
the absence of light. Light we can study, but not
darkness. In fact, we can use Newton's prism to break
white light into many colou rs & study the various wave
lengths of each colour. You cannot measure darkness. A
simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness &
illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space
is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this
correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what
happens when there is no light present."

Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does
evil exist?"

Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I
have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the
daily examples of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the
multitude of crime & violence everywhere in the world.
These manifestations are nothing else but evil.

To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir,
or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply
the absence of God. It is just like darkness & cold, a
word that man has created to describe the absence of God.
God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what
happens wh en man does not have God's love present in his
heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no
heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

The professor sat down.
The young man's name--Albert Einstein A true story.[/b]
