Politics / Re: Inter-ethnic Marriages Or NYSC Which Can Promote National Integration Better? by wyette: 8:59pm On Jan 05, 2014
Inter ethic marriage is good (I'm a staunch supporter). NYSC on the other hand brought me close to many tribes, cultures and customs. If NYSC did not have the inherent flaws which we all know of it would have been a perfect tool to unite our Nigeria

Hi sweets,

I admire you and your courage. I was in the very same (almost exactly identical) situation at some point.

Let's talk.

Romance / Re: After 3 Abortions, He Will Marry Another Lady This Month by wyette: 10:13am On Dec 27, 2013
Hi Lady,

Your tale is actually a sad one. It's quite easy to judge your considering you have killed 3 innocent babies. Do you not feel bad about that? What exactly do you want now advice on getting the guy back?

He won't come back to you. Trust me on that.

My candid advise to you is to seek atonement for the lives you have taken. The guy's betrayal is just secondary and I don't even think that is what you should be concerned about.

You sort out yourself first. The guy will get his due at the set time. There is the existence of the law of karma.

This is my bit.

Take care sweetie. I know you are hurting. Be well.

Religion / Re: Should Students Be Paying Tithes. by wyette: 1:37pm On Oct 22, 2013
Joeadamxx: My grouse is not only about the payment of tithe. Recall that for O&G workers, resident tax in states like Lagos and Rivers is about 25% of income. Now we are told you must pay 10% to "God" as tithe. So that is 35% of my money gone. The the church is expecting you to also give offerings every sunday, that could probably take another 5 -10% if you go to church every Sunday in a month. On top of this, you are expected to still contribute to the purchase of infrastructures for the Church. Now tell me at the end of the day, how much will be my take home? Also, to ask the pertinent question; If tithe and offerings are to ensure "God's" works are progressing uninterrupted, why then do the parishioners still expected to contribute to the building of the church, buying of organs e.t.c.?

Please I want this to be a new thread, I need answers as I am losing my faith fast...........

Hello friend

Do not lose your faith. God is not wicked nor is He mean. Again this is my very personal opinion, I believe that as injunctions/laws go thithes are compulsory. 10% is fixed. God specifically asked for it (in His word).see:

Malachi 3:10 - Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].
It is a form of "insurance cover" so to speak for us as individuals (opening doors of blessings) and so that the servants of God will not suffer (the part about meat in mine house). I make it a point of duty to ALWAYS pay my thithe

Offerings in my opinion are volountary you give this if you have and if you desire to further "give to God". See:

Matthew Chapter 6- 1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

2 Corinthians 9:7 - Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
Proverbs 19:17 - He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Now I realise that some of our religious leaders place a lot of emphasis on giving so much so that it seems just so tasking, I encourage you not to lose hope but to obey the Lord you God as seen from His word. I personally do not give more than I can afford as offering. This does not mean I do not give when it is convinient for me. There are Sundays I do not give anything at all, but on some occacions I have taken up large projects in the house of God and single handedly too.

The bottom line is that God sees your heart. He knows if you give Him because you love His work or if it is so that people can see you.

This is my perosnal opinion. Anyone who has a different opinion should just share. There is no need to insult me or my belief. Notice i did not pass any insults to any1 either. This is my "personal" view and i am entitled to it. Please be mature enuf to understand this.
Religion / Re: Should Students Be Paying Tithes. by wyette: 11:31am On Oct 21, 2013
Yes students should pay thithe, from their pocket money and allowance (in my very personal opinion). It is not your place to judge if your pastors have private jets. Just Obey the biblical injunction. My personal testimony:

In the university I got only N500 (five hundred naira only) per week as allowance. (my parents tried but could afford more). I tried to always pay my thithe N50/week.

After uni without writing application for job, I got a placement in one of the "big four" first salary N110,000k per month and It has since increased. I passed from uni in flying colours. In an economy where work is hard to find. Not only that I got the job during service and this company kept my position for me for more than a year. If God had not work it out this way I would have been too "old" for the job after service.

God is indeed faithful. I can go on.

This is my testimony. anyone who has a different opinion just share. no need to insult me or my belief. notice i did not pass any insults to any1 either. this is my "personal" view and i am entitled to it. be mature enuf to understand this.

For the guys that have 2.2 there are recruitments once a while for support staff and those with 2.2 are considered.

I wrote this post as far back as 2010 but I keep getting 419 mails from yahoo, yahoo guys. That there's a girl who inherited her fathers money and need help to get it out and that I should pay some money get it out and then keep half of the huge sum. they send pictures of fine girls. very funny. two guys sent in mails, different names, different story, different country, same picture. LOL. it was hillarious.

please note that i am not greedy, I am not looking for quick money. i work hard for what i earn and will not part with it foolishly. so stop trying. i am trully ashamed for some of our youths.

please do not mail me for info on KPMG anymore as I have since resigned and now work with another company.i have responded well to genuine queries and helped the ones i could especially about the interview and test process. but now i'm done. you will always find this post about KPMG on nairaland but i hereby withdraw my offer to help. thanks for understanding. i wish you all good luck in your careers.
