So lagos was receiving its allocation for those months abi? who dey lie now, how do you differentiate seize from withheld?
Monthly allocation due to LASG was never seized. Lagos got all her monthly allocation as at when due like other states. Only the LGA allocation that was seized and it's for some months.. That was during the 2nd tenure of OBJ administration. Go and check your facts very well.. LASG even went to court because of it..

PoliticsRe: Senators Fight And Torn Apart Again ! Over Oil Blocks by Xapio: 3:36pm On May 20, 2016
Good to see that most southerners are gradually waking up from their slumber.. I'm not surprised that some northern senators who spoke are against/ partially in support of the bill... We the SE and SS are in total support of the bill. The zone producing the oil should own 60% of the oil blocks and others should share the remaining %40.. State governments of the oil producing state should also own at least one oil block.. I'm 100% in support of the bill. angry

Am actually see this as a great opportunity for Nigeria right now to get off oil. years ago it took Obj to deny lagos state its monthly allocation for the state to begin to think internally and today Lagos is the only state that does not need FG allocation to survive and pay its workers regularly. If obj had not been that cruel, perhaps Lagos would have been owing many months salary like other states, forget the economic capital ish, states like delta, akwa ibom and rivers should be giving Lagos a run for its money if they know what they are doing and are thinking inwardly like Lagos state.

Now is the time for Nigeria to get off oil if we are truly serious, oil is not a renewable resource in the first place, if many of the developed countries today are not oil producing nations so what's our problem, even african countries like kenya, ethiopia before we even talk about south africa are not oil producing nations yet they have functioning national air carriers that are world class.

Nigeria wake up, Life is not all about oil. This is our last opportunity to get off oil finally.
OBJ never seized Lagos State monthly allocation. He only withhold LGA allocation for some months.. make una de lie with the fear of God na.. Haba

PoliticsRe: FG And Labour Set Up Committee To Review Fuel Price And Minimum Wage by Xapio: 12:12am On May 18, 2016
Anabel:
Smart dialogue. Let them feel you wanna take action but you won't take it. mind you, it was when Nigerians started complaining of the whole point of the strike, that was when NLC added increment of the minimum wage to the list of their discussions.
So how should they make FG feel they wanna take action?... And for minimum wage, that's a fat lie.
NLC tabled the issue of minimum wage increase to 56k on May 1st, worker's day, get your records right. And what did the FG said? How many times did they invite them for dialogue about it? How many times in the history of Nigeria has FG invited NLC for talk on workers welfare if not when they embark on strike?..
You people should just stop attacking/antagonizing NLC, I don't know who you are working for but I can assure you that you are shooting yourself on the foot by setting a bad precedence.. By the way, all government workers are already praying for the strike to come so that they can at least rest.. If you are not on a fixed salary, you won't understand what is happening..

PoliticsRe: FG And Labour Set Up Committee To Review Fuel Price And Minimum Wage by Xapio: 11:28pm On May 17, 2016
Anabel:
This is not about supporting APC, this is about seeing NLC for the fraud they are. Where have they been all these months that people have been working with no salaries. Where were they when NUPENG and PENGASSAN were holding Nigerians for ransom in the name of not supplying oil. When anything happens, the unions will just believe that all they have to do is punish the masses and the masses will complain to the govt. They only see the masses when they see something they wanna sink their greedy teeth into quickly. It won't work. If no one goes to work, they should be sacked. There are too many unemployed people in this country for some people to start talking about sitting at home
So in your own view, what do you think NLC should do to ameliorate the suffering of the masses, and in what way should they go about it? Mind you, NUPENG is not in support of the strike but PENGASSAN is in support of it. NUPENG is not in support because they are already mounting FG to increase their (NUPENG) minimum wage to 90k/month..
PoliticsRe: FG And Labour Set Up Committee To Review Fuel Price And Minimum Wage by Xapio: 11:13pm On May 17, 2016
seunmsg:
I am strongly against the fuel price hike but the proposed strike action by NLC and TUC is not the way forward. The labour movement should engage the government constructively instead of declaring a strike that we all know won't be effective due to the factionalisation of NLC.

Labour should use this opportunity to negotiate for a meaningful reduction in the pump price, substantial increase in minimum wage and the immediate payment of all outstanding promotion arrears and 28 days allowances instead of embarking on a fruitless strike action.
How will NLC negotiate for a meaningful reduction in the pump price, substantial increase in minimum wage and the immediate payment of all outstanding promotion arrears and 28 days allowances if they did not go on strike? Is it not when they embark on strike, then FG will invite them on a roundtable talk/negotiation?... Sometimes I don't understand how you APC supporters reason.. You have been vocal in support of NLC but recently, you are gradually shifting ground because you feel you are on your own.. Man up and stand by what you believe in..

PoliticsRe: Fuel price hike: FG, Labour meeting ends in a deadlock by Xapio: 11:23am On May 17, 2016
MVLOX:
We are saying same tin.... My point is that they should take a stand... And that is for an increment in minimum wage... Since the government is now free from the burdens of subsidy
The problem is that the government refused to come clean.. Osinbajo came out to say that they've not removed subsidy rather, the increment was as a result of oil importers sourcing their FX from parallel market. According to them, the new fuel pump price was calculated based on N290/$ so, what that means is the if the FX price keep increasing, the fuel pump price will keep increasing. Another angle is that the FG placed a cap of N145 on pms and my question is, what if the oil importers source their FX at a higher rate and will not be able to make profit on N145 pms cap, what are they (both FG & oil marketers) gonna do? .... If they refuse to import, that means bigger fuel scarcity is looming.. In fact the whole thing is shrouded in secrecy and so, the FG must come clean. angry
PoliticsRe: Fuel price hike: FG, Labour meeting ends in a deadlock by Xapio: 7:46am On May 17, 2016
MVLOX:
NLC should just focus on using this opportunity to get a higher pay package for workers rather than asking for a reverse in pump price....for all knw the pump price matter can always come down in the future....
How will they focus on higher pay package? Is it not through this strike, then FG will call them for negotiation and there, they will reach a compromise.. Mind you, NLC condition to FG is either they increase minimum wage to N56,000 or reduce the fuel pump price.. I am with NLC angry ..
PoliticsRe: Fuel price hike: FG, Labour meeting ends in a deadlock by Xapio: 7:43am On May 17, 2016
Very good.. The strike must go on. N145/litre is wickedness angry ... FG should rather fix the price at N100/ltr
