FoodRe: Some Have Food But Cannot Eat VS. Some Can Eat But Have No Food? by XavierSmiley: 8:00am On Apr 14, 2013
fluid26: *Let 'condition A' represent 'having food to eat but without the ability or means to do so.'
*Let 'condition B' represent the reverse case...i.e. Possessing the ability and capacity to eat, but no available food.

I believe condition A is far worse. The condition is usually permanent and cannot be easily remedied. The food is right there before you, but you can't touch it. You can't chew. You can't swallow. You can't drink. You can't eat!

If you are 'rich enough' to seek alternative means of ingesting it (e.g. using tubes and intravenous lines), then you wouldn't know what the food tastes like. Is taste not an important part of eating? What about jaw movement? Chewing and grinding food particles with strength, purpose and glee! That victorious feeling you get as it goes down your oesophagus...lol cheesy

Condition B is bad, I agree, but is quite short-term and is easily remedied through hard work, stealing or begging...lol.

PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Amnesty And The Quran by XavierSmiley: 8:11am On Apr 07, 2013
Ken4Christ: donroxy, and all those try to defend Quoran please answer these questions.

1.Do you think the Allah of your Quoran and The God of The Christians are the same God? If they are the same, why do they give contrary instructions?
2. If they are not the same, are there two supreme God in the universe? If there are no two supreme God, then one of the Gods must be a false God. You judge for yourself only after examining the attributes of both in the two books.
3. If the Allah of your Quoran is the true supreme God and Mohammed his holy prophet, why will he chose to reveal himself through the writing of only one man who claimed God sent him. In the court of law, do they accept the witness of one person to judge a case?
4. The said man Mohammed wrote in the Quoran that your Allah shall make those who follow Jesus to be superior, what do make of this? Behold! Allah said: "O jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the falsehoods) of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #55)

5. Even your leader said he was not sure of what will become of him nor all those that follow him. Does it mean, all Muslims have no sure destiny? If you want to persuade me to be one, what is the incentive? Is it uncertain destiny?
Say: "I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but that which is revealed to me by inspiration; I am but a Warner open and clear."46 verse 9

I strongly persuade you to convert to Christianity and all those trying to destroy this country including the Boko Haran with the following reasons
1. Jesus was the only man who lived without any record of sin. He is therefore the only person that can save mankind from sin and reconcile them back to God.
2. Jesus was sure of his destiny and he promise all his followers he is coming back to take them home. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:1-6)
3. Jesus was the only person who died for the sin of the world and rose again from the dead to prove his divinity. It is wise to follow the one that has conquered death not the one that could not come back from the realm of death.
4. The same Jesus says God has giving him the power to judge the world. So no one will escape Jesus. If you do not receive him as your Saviour, you will meet him as your judge. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: (John 5:22)
5. No one till date has been able to dispute the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Simply denying it does not make sense. You have to prove it.
6. The character of his followers ever since this crises began shows we have a godly spirit. I do not think that two mosque will go down before this country is turned into war. Judge who has more godly character.
7. The Bible is the only book that gives a comprehensive account of the creation of the world. If your Quoran was the only book given by God, the whole world would have been in the dark. God cannot have two constitutions. No nation has two constitutions. The Bible is still the most reliable because your Quoran even makes reference to some of the books - the book of Moses and the gospel.
It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind, and He sent down the criterion (of judgment between right and wrong).
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #3)

We need peace in this country. Education has enabled us to read and find out the truth for ourselves. If the quotes from Quaran has turned some fanatics into murderers and you say they are misinterpreting the Quoran, I suggest you Muslims should sit down and tell Allah to produce a revised edition that is free from ambiguity. Too many lives have been lost. We cannot afford to continue this way. I escaped several deaths while schooling as a student in the North. The killings did not start today.
And so not even a single "Muslim Faithful" can provide answers τ̲̅ȍ these questions or atleast deny the facts presented...smh..Ʊ guys better turn τ̲̅ȍ Christ...He's the only one who preaches peace, His lifestyle among men was peaceful... Even τ̲̅ȍ the point of death, He was without sin.. Of cos He had the powers τ̲̅ȍ rain down fire on His accusers, yet that He might claim the glory, He never did... Little wonder why God declared "Behold my Begotten Son, listen τ̲̅ȍ Him"...Come τ̲̅ȍ think of it, will a Supreme God need "Human intervention" τ̲̅ȍ fight his battles or τ̲̅ȍ pass justice? №!!! If the god of the Quran is God indeed, why does he insist on fight, fight, fight for urself. Jehovah said in the Bible, "Vengeance is Mine! ¶ will recompense!". He never encourages fight because He is Supreme! He is God! He is Real! He is able! He is not an idol, Neither is He man's invention! He created man and is able τ̲̅ȍ destroy if need βε̲̣̣̣̥! He needs № man τ̲̅ȍ fight for Him! He can fight for Himself!

baynix: Bro.. C'mon Stop Being Bias! They Are Nt Fightin For Muslims In The North!! They Are Against The Will Of Allah!!

Like OP Said, If Amnesty Is The Only Solution That 'ld Bring Peace.. Then We Shld Welcome It!

Am Actually Against The Amnesty.. Buh No Choice For Our Clueless President!
¶'m a Christian...but sincerely-speaking ¶ have nothing against Islam and muslims cos ¶ have a lot of them close τ̲̅ȍ ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥ even in my extended family (especially the learned and exposed ones). But one thing...as beautiful as the OP paints Islam, the Islam practised in d South West is far different from d Islam in the North especially in the core North...and when ¶ refer τ̲̅ȍ the North/Northerners, ¶ don't refer τ̲̅ȍ the educated and exposed ones, but τ̲̅ȍ the "un-learned" mallams, the almajiris, the "abokis" (¶ don't mean τ̲̅ȍ βε̲̣̣̣̥ sarcastic, just being specific)... These ones, as a result of their illiteracy and lack of exposure, live as animals, they don't value human life at all. ¶ served in the North and saw how meaningless life is τ̲̅ȍ them...so meaningless that many Muslim corpers in my time had τ̲̅ȍ stop attending their mosques (during the 2011 elections)... Why? Cos they noticed that the typical, illiterate Muslim Northerner is VERY tribalistic... Little wonder y you find Fulani "Muslims" killing their fellow Muslim Brother cos he's Hausa...life τ̲̅ȍ them is meaningless.. Religion, τ̲̅ȍ them is "an eye for an eye".. № peace! They don't even own/read Qu'rans... They are like Zombies believing whatsoever is being taught...hook line and sinker.... Its only the educated ones amongst them and the ones who have lived among "human beings" that do more researches, read Good Islamic books and all... Islam in the North is based on Sharia Laws... When in the North, while we were running for our lives during an upheaval, a little girl in Hijab shouted "come and burn them, corper! We go burn you!!" ¶ was so shocked cos firstly, she's a "girl" (ought τ̲̅ȍ βε̲̣̣̣̥ soft-hearted), secondly, she was less than 15yrs of age (yet she had this mean heart), thirdly, she was on HIJAB!!!! That was the peak for ♍ε̲̣̣̣̥, cos the Hijab depicts her commitment. ¶ don't hate Muslims but the truth is if these bombings have been the other way round, Christians bombing Muslims, ¶ can outrightly say that ¶ KNOW MUSLIMS WON'T HAVE BEEN PATIENT FOR THIS LONG!!! And they sure wouldn't βε̲̣̣̣̥ talking amnesty at all!

smile4kenn: I feel so honored to be the
first comment. All of my hard work and
dedication has paid off. Getting the top
comment has been a dream of mine for
many years, and I would like to thank those
who have helped me along the way. First
and foremost I would like to thank God for
giving me this opportunity. Next, I would
like to thank my girlfriend. She had been
patience with me while I attempt to make
the top comment. I would also like to thank
my pet tadpole for surviving against all odds
for over a week. Next I would like to thank
the squirrel that lives in my backyard for
climbing trees because that gives me
inspiration that I need to get through the
day to make the top comment. This is a
special moment in my life and I would like to
thank any of my unmentioned friends and
family that have helped me along the way.
This moment will be a moment that I will
never forget. I just remembered a few other
people I will like to thank; Facebook, my
light in my room bc i wouldn’t be able to see
the keyboard without it, the internet for
letting me go on nairaland, my house
because without it I would be homeless, and
last but not least I would like to thank all the

of their day to read this. I cannot stress how
much of a big deal to me this is. I have been
trying to be the first comment on a post for
years, but that has not been possible until
this amazing day. Hopefully my good luck
will continue, but this is undoubtedly a rare
occasion. If you asked me how I did this, I
would say, you can achieve anything u set

Just wanna add that its also left τ̲̅ȍ the woman (wife, and mother) τ̲̅ȍ create a balance... Remember, Ʊ were first a "wife" τ̲̅ȍ u® husband before Ʊ became a "mother" τ̲̅ȍ u® children... Create time for u® husband... Treat him as u® FIRSTBORN cos indeed he is. You'll send him out when Ʊ'r all about "my children, my children, my children"... ¶ believe a man who gets enuff and "timely" attention from his wife will never get jealous about his children, and even if he does, he'll curb it, knowing so well dat his wife creates ample time for him and shows it "openly" dat he comes first before any of her children regardless of their sex. Men have 2 phases - they are BABIES and they are KINGS; as babies, they love τ̲̅ȍ βε̲̣̣̣̥ PAMPERED and CUDDLED; as kings, they love τ̲̅ȍ βε̲̣̣̣̥ WORSHIPPED and REVERED. He's u® FIRSTBORN and your LORD!!! Treat him as one!
FamilyRe: Are Fathers Jealous Of Their Kids? by XavierSmiley:
Wow wow wow!!! Am so loving this thread. Well, in my opinion, men get usually jealous, not necessarily envious. Can Ʊ imagine my close-to-70yr old- dad being jealous of our mum especially whenever ¶ and my siblings are all home and all-over our mumhuh Jealousy in men is very common and dats y u'r fond of hearing them spit out bitterly "go and meet YOUR MOTHER", or "your mother this..." "Your mother that..." especially when its so obvious Ʊ've been pampered by u® mum. The reason is cos mums are the Care-Givers, we drink her milk, sit in her laps, strapped τ̲̅ȍ her back, her body is very soft τ̲̅ȍ the touch when compared τ̲̅ȍ that of our fathers, she's concerned when things go wrong and is ever so listening... So her kids tend τ̲̅ȍ flock around her as the Care-Giver... Her body provides the early "toys" kids need τ̲̅ȍ handle with and also the early "table" they dine on... So y won't fathers βε̲̣̣̣̥ jealous.. Little wonder y many songs have been written for mums and so few for dads.. Songs like "iya Ni̶̲̥̅̊ wura iyebiye", "mummy o o o wa pelaye", "Asha's song; So Beautiful - mama mi o roju ri", even movies like Mainframe's "Maami".... Abeggi!!!! tox2k: Congratulations y'all! May you all prosper inasmuch as you were employed based on merit and through due process. I served with INEC in 2011, worked tirelessly and selflessly in their ICT Dept, but evidently Nigeria does not appreciate diligence yet. I pray we get there someday. Congratulations, once again.Fortunately, what I am doing now is far better.
Sounds to me more like "envy" dan prayers. Hold on to what u'r doing which is "far better". I also served "tirelessly and selflessly" in the 2011 elections, in the very remote areas of the North.. I saw guns and knives, had to even run for my life at some point... Or u think u single-handedly worked for INEC?? There were several others like us too o. Na God do am, no be man. This goes to all those "yabbing" Nigerian soldiers and Nigeria as a nation... Its more so pathetic that at this stage of our lives as Nigerians, especially when Nigeria needs all the prayers and support she can get from her citizens, majority still choose otherwise. Its unfair to yourself to be negative about Nigeria. America is what it is today cos of the respect from the citizens, the oneness is pursuit and the constant prayers.. God bless America! How many times do u pray for ur country or u don't know everything "Nigeria" is you! YOU are Nigeria! A nation is not a nation without PEOPLE. Nigeria is not NIGERIA without citizens! U curse Nigeria, you curse yourself. How would a right-thinking person go online to ride heinous things about his own country..its like washing your dirty linens in OSHODI! Or you think America has no dirty linens?? They have but choose rather to keep it from public consumption. On my take on BH, how long did it take America to fight terrorismhuh It didn't take them a day now?? It took them YEARS.. They're still on it till date. Abeg let's support Nigeria, let's BELIEVE in Nigeria... Its the only home we have.. Let's talk positive, let's see positive, YOU are the NIGERIA you curse or bless!

I served in one of the Northern states of Nigeria and during the 3 weeks orientation camp, an "aboki" was caught by the soldiers in camp... Can u believe the "aboki" was FULLY kitted in NYSC uniform?? When we all suffered for between 4 to 10years for a university degree just to be QUALIFIED to put on the uniformhuh Where I respected the soldiers more was when I found out the guy was ARMED wit guns and knives! His intention was definitely murderous. Oh boy! See beating!!! And dis one nah on top NYSC uniform, no be soldier own ooooo. Of cos I'm not justifying the "barbaric" beating of civilians.. I hold on to the fact dat misrepresentation should be dealt wit "formally", not on d streets. If indeed its an offence punishable by law, then let the Law takeover... We are human beings for God's sake! No wonder it is said that "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"... The power of the military is vested in their guns! Once with dat gun, they'd do and undo... Sooooo pathetic!

My respect for Nigerian soldiers began during my nysc days.. They indeed proved their worth by protecting us while we were in camp. There was this ethnic Jukun-Igala clash then in a part of North-East Nigeria that led to blood-shed, burning down buildings and structures and all that. However, we corpers were living all so peacefully unaware of the war going on outside... And although our camp had no major fence but thick forest which would provide a ready source of camouflage and hideout for whoever plans to harm us, we were safe.

Towards the end of the 3-week orientation camp, at about the 2nd week, I came across Soldiers mercilessly beating up a "disguised-corper" with assorted arms and weapons. It later came to our understanding that the man in question wasn't a corp-member at all but had his own "harmful" intentions against corp-members. How he got the corper outfit, and how he got into camp and mixed up is a mystery; yet the Soldiers kept him on a close watch, singled him out and disarmed him. In fact, we were so guarded that we later heard we had SSS assigned to us to ensure our safety at all cost - which they did!

It was not until the 3 weeks of camp ended that we all came out of camp to see burnt-up structures, and signs of the aftermath of serious bloodshed. We also found out that these same soldiers (our platoon commandants and friends at camp), also risked their lives for 3weeks, sleeping in the surrounding thick forest, bitten by ants, rain, sun and exposed to the cold, securely our lives while we enjoyed ourselves in reckless abandon, oblivious to the war looming around us. No one is perfect and no job is without its challenges! The Nigerian Army are well-equipped and well-trained (in my own opinion)...

Kudos to Nigerian soldiers!!!

All we need is ONE VOICE, ONE PRAYER, ONE BELIEF... that Boko Haram is history! Pray for Nigeria! Pray for the Nigerian soldiers! Pray for JTF! Long life Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Gratia: This is absolutely correct! it is disheartening to know that I have one here as a fellow corper, what a shame!
You're right. I had one as a fellow corper when I served 2 years back. The sad thing's she's a "she"...quite beautiful but can hardly express herself in proper spoken English Language without bursting into fluent pidgin. Worse still, SHE'S A GRADUATE OF MASS COMMUNICATION!!! Because of her qualifications, she was deployed to teach ENGLISH LANGUAGE in a Senior Secondary School (SSS3, to be precise), to tutor them for their forth-coming WAEC exams!!!

You walk into her classroom only find wrongly-spelt words on the blackboard, while she teaches English Language in Pidgin English. So pathetic indeed!!!

And she did this all through her service year since the principal of the school wasn't even literate enough to detect her errors. Only God knows how the performance of her students turned out to be in the WAEC exams for that year!
