The south west still has hope with such people coming out to be truthful and sensible to this contraception called Nigeria. How can you force a people to live side by side with you, yet you still persecute them and hate them for being who they are. You still punish them for daring to fight a war with you. This marriage would never work! It is destined to fail from the get go.
Those opposed to coming to the table to decided our faith as a nation are unity beggers and they would soon arrive. |

abescom: The [s]problem is igbo. You call yorubas your enemy when they do not support you, hate the hausas and then expect support.
You practicise politics of hatred everywhere you go. People are paranoid of you lot as you simply have not shown any reason why you should be trusted. Or what makes you think I will trust and support someone who calls me his enemy without any just and sensible reason.
And be fair, are you guys united? How many of you supported Orji's move to becoming president? Things will change for you lot when 1. You accept the fact that what happened during the biafra war is in the past. 2. No one is your enemy, everyone is merely fighting for themselves 3. You decide to unite to get the presidency and find way to win the support of others. Until then, forget it.[/s] Nonsense trash! Go and school your kinsmen |

Reno is spot on! Why can't an Igbo man rule this God forsaken country? How can we claim to be one people yet they oppress the Igbo's for fighting for their rights to govern and control their resources. This nation is doomed and can never work. Without equal rights and justice no country can prosper. |

God bless nwodo for this speech! Nigeria as a country has failed to deliver good governance and the benefit democracy to it's citizens. Sadly, this failed nation still treats the south Easterners as a conquered territory especially under this APC led bigoted government. Therefore with the status quo still in place after 50 years of the war, the agitations shall continue to grow louder so the affected people can control their resources and destiny. |

Mujtahida: [s]Chai you funny oooo. Me: Dilector Mazi Kanu, come let this Eastern clown entertain us. Chidi, please quickly release that that gibbon called xcolanto from the cage. Dilector is here for African night entertainment. Me:Oya repeat after me::Afonja, Almajiri, Unity beggar, Dilector, Biafra. Me:Mazi you can see how well trained this my gibbon is, very intelligent too. Mazi (sipping his palm wine) : yes, yes I like it's name xcolanto. Very unique. Where did you get this quality ape from? Me: I bought it during my sojourn in the East, from a skilled traps man who told me he caught the unfortunate thing in the Oyi forest near the Ogbunike caves where it was abandoned by its mother. I brought it to the city and endeavoured to give it some bit of training. Dilector, look, see, it's showing a rare piece of skill. Mazi Kanu : ewoooo, I want one like this ooo. (removes banana from his pocket and xcolanto runs to him) hian! The thing is hungry sef Me: yes dilector. I see it has taken easily to you. Usually it's very aggressive and hostile to other people. I think I have an idea. Mazi Kanu : please I am all ears (removes his snuff box and taps on it several times, opens it and dips his little finger into the brownish stuff and expertly uploads a generous amount straight into his hungry nose, grunts and clears his throat with water dripping from his red eyes) Mazi : Chai mama Nkechi gave me the really potent one. This snuff is better than the drugs those young lazy louts take to Singapore, Malaysia, Burma and end up in being killed. Why can't they stay back home and push snuff? Me: You are right Mazi. As I was saying as you can see this xcolanto is very talented, it can do all sorts of stunts Mazi : you don't have to say that again, my eyes have seen something today Me:well well, I am thinking that given that your aspirations for Biafra is slowly coming to fruition, perhaps you can take this gibbon with you back to the East to entertain the crowds there. Of course xcolanto would feel quite at home because I know it would instinctively know that the East is where he belongs. I must tell you that sometimes this thing would wail, cry and make all sorts of noise in the night and I used to feel it was crying for its native land. So please here's an opportunity for me to do double favors :to gift you xcolanto and at the same time give xcolanto the opportunity to return back to the East so that I can rest Mazi : this is wonderful and really thoughtful of you. Truly we need such spectacular gibbonic displays for our entertainment. How much are you selling? Me: Haba Mazi we would do business on other things but not this one. Take it, it's a gift. Money is not everything all the time. Mazi : you are right ooo, thank you, thank you. Me: let's continue to enjoy tonight's show. Me: xcolanto repeat after me: Mazi, Aboki, Afonja, Unity beggar. Roll on the ground, roll, jump, jump Mazi Kanu (he is beside himself with happiness and laughs heartily) This gibbon would be a star in the East. Me: sure, sure, a celebrity in the land where the sun never sets[/s]. My boy! Your up early to start begging for unity again? Your life most be useless to everything around you. Keep begging for this is your destiny on earth I see you brought your almajiri brothers from Zaria with you.. Oya good morning let me hear you say one nijeira. Begging beggars |

Mujtahida: [s]Yeah you clearly misunderstood me. I meant the Igbo as a distinct ethnic group with its variations. But still your piece was enlightening.
I am very well informed about our tribal and ethnic diversity. I was fortunate to have grown up on the Airforce Base in Makurdi where all the tribes lived in almost perfect unity and harmony. I had Ibos, Hausas, Tivs, Ijaws, Efiks, Angas, Idomas, Igedes, Ogajas, Yorubas, Fulanis , Itshekiris, Binis, Isans, Urhobo etc as friends, neighbours, church members or classmates and even till date though we've all separated to different places, we still feel like kith and kin. Our retired parents still meet regularly.
Growing up I thoroughly enjoyed reading Chinua Achebe, Ola Rotimi (thought he was yoruba but later discovered he is from Rivers State) Elechi Amadi, J. P Clark, Christopher Okigbo, Gabriel Okara, Odia Ofeimun, Cyprian Ekwensi, Wole Soyinka, Dan Fulani, Zaynab Alkali, Abubakar Gimba, Flora Nwapa, Buchi Emecheta, Eddie Iroh, Onuorah Nzekwu, Chukwuemeka Ike and so many others I can't remember now (especially in the pacesetters and YAW series). I had my Uni in Zaria, served and spent six years in the south West, travelled to and spent time in pH and Calabar. I simply don't know how to be tribal or ethnic in my thinking and outlook and most people who grew up in a more cosmopolitan setting (particularly Barracks or Base people are like that too. I am a Nigerian. Till date just by looking at a person or hearing them speak I can correctly guess which tribe or ethnic group they belong to.
Regarding your point on enlightenment: for example many don't know that not everyone who is from the north is an Hausa man. They don't know that in the North you can find Jaba, Kagoro, Kataf, Tangale, Kanuri, Angas, Baju, Tarok, Miango,Nupe, Gbagyi, Berom, Zuru, Maguzawa etc etc or that even Hausa itself has linguistic variants. In short the North is as ethnically diverse as the south if not more.
Some bit of enlightenment( as you have rightly suggested) along this lines truly helps to broaden one's outlook. We are just being cheated by our elites. As diverse as we are I believe Nigeria can work and there's enough, more than enough to go round for everybody but truly the present set up is warp up. It's no good[/s]. Total B.S! Here you go again calling other ethinc groups to yourself begging for unity! I see you have links to the north. Little wonder you beg so much for unity.. That is what holds sway over there with your kids begging up and down. Now I know your almajiri inclined doing what you know how to best. Oya write me an epistle and beg some more!
