Welldone jare...na u be the Uber agent grin
Abeg give us update on this your S40, corolla don too cost and Hyundai/Kia aren't so strong for this business.

Cost of suspension parts links 6k 8k, back 6k a pair.
Ball joint comes with the lower arm assembly (ball joint, lower arm, 2 bushes) Tọks 12K (over a year ago) I'll update you on it cos I'll be needing it soon. Spring 8k( 1 side, bought about a month ago)
Shocks tọks over a year ago, 12k but it kept failing so I bought new for 55. No issues since. Back shocks used to be 7k for both, last month I got 1 side for 12k.
Shafts too, this one don stress me wella cos thy keep failing and I refuse to use the car with that shaft click and vibration, so I kept changing them once I hear or feel it, Tọks 12k. Saving for new ones 130k each, buying and shipping.

Any overheating issues? Overheating, fan fault only, changed the fan a few times, bad module, bad motor and cracked blade. The different reasons for each change. Aha, one of the coolant hoses cracked, leaking coolant, overheating. But I always catch it when the gauge starts to climb so it's never overheated.

How strong is the AC? Used to be fantastic, rarely needed to go beyond level 5 of 18 (for extremely hot day) but Naija hand don enter. Condenser 15k, compressor 40/50k

Any gear issue? None yet. Gear is 80k when I asked

How much is d engine? 250 300 I think, used to be 200ish

All these na pre bulaba o.

Parts and expertise is the problem. The really good mechanics are always busy, you literally have to book days ahead. Most parts, where available, are Tọks and can be hit and miss. And you have to get to Daleko every damn time, this is particularly annoying.

For little things I can order from abroad, I order whenever I have someone coming from there.

But, I love the car as much as I did when I just got it.

Abeg no vex for the plenty questions

Na UK go pay abi who go pay?

Whichever is the case, UK connection is there, it's a long trip and trip has started already, so no fret. U have advantage ur engine isn't on. What if you are in traffic, will u not be blasting AC for rider? U no get wahala.

In hindsight, i should have ended the trip. It impacted too much on my driving time
Business / Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by XGhost: 12:54pm On Jun 05, 2023
So I got a request, 1.3x... call rider, she says she's in the UK make i pickup some items, Igbo efon to Ikeja. I reason am, not bad, I'm on my way. Get to the address, call contact person, she says Ah that's not where she is o, she's at so and so, same Igbo efon. In my head I'm like ahhhhhh, after entering this water, won't make sense to cancel, also won't make sense to drive to new address for free, so I call UK woman and explain, tell her I'll start the trip o or she can cancel and order another ride. She says no problem.
I start trip and drive to new pickup, call contact person, this woman begin beg o, i should give her 10 minutes she's coming. WTF!!!!!!
Shey I cancel now ni??

Incidentally, I had to close, approaching Onikan after snapping that picture, I started hearing some funny noises from the leg, out of nowhere. I just drove
home. I de mechanic now, i think it's the linkage.

This morning I came out of the estate 5.30 to beat that Jakande traffic as I see say Northwest de sell, i sharply entered and filled up, 20k.

Decided to do some trips, noise or no noise, before the mechanic gets to the workshop. Na where we de be dat.

Good ish news, linkage is ok, but for some reason the bolt holding it is coming loose. This is the second time it's happening. Anyway, back to moving Lagos

You know you're wasting time on Uber. If na indrive, by that time you started, you'd have grossed 60k. cheesy

I no get power for drama, I like the peace of mind Uber gives me. Also, if I were to add Uber's commission to this, it should come be over 50k. Remember, Uber dashboard shows your earnings after commission so, nothing lost

Omoapena your corolla is consuming too much fuel if it indeed goes only 6kms per Liter. You should go for a live scan and tune up.

I use a vehicle with a 2.4L engine and it does 9kms per Liter.

A normal Corolla with the 1.8L engine should be getting at least 11kms per Liter so far the engine isn’t on its last legs.

This is accurate. I drive a 5 cylinder and this is what I've averaged today...breaks down to about 1.4ltrs per 10km. When I drove a Corolla it was doing 10km to the litre

Truth is ehaling should be for stop gaps. It is even sweeter if you drive your own car. And this is what I do. When I get better free time from work, I used to do the work like a full time driver.
Since December my approach to the hustle changed. Got a better offer elsewhere. So na to dey do ehaling sparingly. I have been to the Lagoos hospital on the island on several occasions, which will be hard for ehailing guys to afford. Thanks to HMO.
Anything aside side hustle, ehaling doesn't really pay, forget about those saying otherwise. I rest my case. If you like come fight me, I dey my house.

E-hailing driver's should have HMO. Axamansard silver plan is 75k p.a, bronze is 50 something. That's 150 for you and madam, or 2something for a family of 4. If you go dey born more than 2, wahala wahala

There's a plan as low as 12k with basic benefits.
With proper planning one can live a relatively ok life by Naija standards

Lolz...u used two days on the road abi.

.

U r bringing in other variables which can make this comparison impossible. Maybe u should also ask the speed he was driving while traveling.
The point I have made is crystal clear. Yours is based on theory and ideals. Mine is based on practicals and real experience. Most times real life experience is different from what u are thought in d classroom.

They are right pearl. A simple pointer to efficiency Viz reduced wear is evident when you compare highway mileage with city mileage in car reviews and even your daily use. You use more fuel in traffic than when it's a free ride. Your car runs at more ease on the highway and by extension less wear. In my car's manual stop and go driving is qualified as adverse driving conditions. Your car battery lasts longer if it's run for long periods as against short ones, your tires wear less on highway driving than city. These are documented facts.

Still in the biz, 1 year on. It's definitely not as cheap to run as a Japanese car but it is definitely no mate to the usual Japanese car. Most importantly, I'm still making money, and very comfortably too without working like a donkey. Average 70-100k NET weekly.
Will I choose this over a corolla? Yes, every single day.

Sorry this may be coming in late. I'm not really frequent on nl.

The pic was before you replaced alternator ?

That your temp gauge is looking high. Or is it the angle from which the pic was taken?

Probably the angle, the needle sits marginally off the halfway mark.
The whole job took less than an hour. Nothing complicated. Only difference is he had to go under to reach the belts.

Thanks so much for the candid response.

If I'm getting a civic, I'd probably just put in a droid screen and tune up the interior a bit...

Again, thanks.

The extras will be a nice touch, however most important is make sure the AC is always on point, car is always neat and smelling good.

Add 15 inch alloys to lift it up a bit plus swag, then with your android... Work don finish
