Mr Barb, Very sorry for your current situation. Be smart about it and you'd get your car back. Let me summarize the rift.

Clearly, you must have seen some dashboard screenshots of some drivers here. To them, it's a move to encourage others that it's possible to make certain figures per month( a position you've subscribed too) and which has never been an issue in my opinion. To this Group 1, emphasis is solely on the figures on the dashboard, with the idea that people should work hard. Anyone performing lower is termed lazy.

But another Group2 ( also made up of some subgroups with ideas not really in contrast to the major group) believes that specific amount made or displayed on that dashboard (200k,300k,or 400k) isn't the net income. Meaning you must have made expenses which you haven't deducted from that 200-400k. To this group, the actual profit is derived when you deduct these expenses and you're left with whatever. This group believes that detailed information should be provided in other to give new drivers and partners, a complete idea of what is involved in e-hailing.

Now, this is were you come in. Group 2 says that issues like yours won't be stated by members of Group 1. It's not deducted from the dashboard screenshots you see.

N. B, there were other issues promoted by different individuals(groups) but these are the two main groups here and your statements already shows were you belong.

Peace.

He clearly understands the pros and cons and the different dynamics that play in this hustle and he said IF ONE IS DILIGENT AND HARDWORKING WITH UNIFORM ISSUES

He understands

grin grin

Your mind is being sharpened with these experiences.

I thank God you escaped.

Never ever park on the road for anything. Even if your rider says he's on the road, look for a safe place to park. Always have that in mind.

Also, always central lock your car. Get used to it. Somebody comes down, lock. Someone enters, lock. Always lock, lock, lock grin

Lastly, learn to use your side mirrors all the time. Be vigilant. Always look out for any danfo or korope lurking behind when you want to park.

Above all, pray to your God not to let these people see you. Their wahala too much grin

In addition, as you're driving be very very observant, if there's a local government or lcda secretariat close by, be extra careful about where u stop. If you notice tow trucks around, be very careful where you stop. If you notice uniforms or local govt reflective vest/polo-wearing touts around the area... You know the drill.
If you're entering a street, check for one way signs, if there's none, take note of the direction most cars are facing whether moving or parked cars. Don't be afraid to tell your rider you can't stop or pass a certain place.
You'll be fine

Had to come back to this post. It's elicited different emotions in me, amusement, disappointment and finally pity. How you've arrived at the many conclusions is strange.
You said somewhere that you're married. Going by you logic I take it that you feel your wife is with you because things may be ok now, abi

This is the negativity we're talking about. Apparently it's not limited to e-hailing then.

You guys are changing narratives or forgotten so soon. Nobody ever said the job don cast,
Nobody said there is no money in the hustle
Nobody is discouraging anybody.
The thread has been peaceful let me not talk too much.
But the Genesis of all this started from

Generation 1sadpearl1910/kanuisagoat &me) Earn fixed amount
Some folks said you can earn a particular amount every month 400k and save up every year just like salary earners.
Others said you can’t predict your earning every week cos of unforeseen situations.

Generation 2sadthe whole thread scatter) uproar about posting dashboard or not.
Some folks said don’t post dashboard cos of insecurity and all
Others clamor for posting of dashboards.
Even dru23 drop money to support.
Okay, I’m indifferent about it but it will let us know the truth about consistency of earnings(unforeseen circumstances)
So it’s only you and CheerfulGiver that has been consistent in posting dashboard hence the mention. So let me sound like CheerfulGiver “if you don’t want me to call your name stop posting dashboard, as long as I see it I will analyze to proof my point not to discourage anybody or wish anybody evil”

Sweet trip don enter, sweet riders voice, later

No nau. It's you guys that have been shifting the post since.
First y'all said it was impossible, then it's not sustainable, then your body and car will break down. Now you've separated cheerfulgiver. At least you've accepted his own.

My position ESPECIALLY regarding posting dashboard has always been, don't legislate for anyone what they can and can't post. It's obviously viewed differently by different people.
Secondly, I have an issue with rent being 25k AND drivers still telling stories
Thirdly, be balanced in your narrative. If you have bad days you must also have good days, say it.
Then allow the reader weigh the pros and cons as per his own unique situation and then decide.

Now if someone comes here and sees cheerfulgiver's 200k a week and based off of that ALONE he thinks the job is easy and without its cons what do you think of that person. He's either a fool or a thief.

Third Mainland Bridge. Inward Island

Pitfalls during rush hour 6.30am-11.30am.

Offence. Shunting of lanes.

1. Adeniji Adele exit.
TMB typically has 4 lanes. As you approach Adeniji Adele, avoid the last lane rightward. Cars most times won't allow you to get back into the 2nd and 3rd lane. Before you know it, you are already at the Adeniji Adele exit intersection, grin the lastma guys lurk around harmlessly, once you get there, they pounce on you.

Action plan: maintain 2nd and 3rd lane. Once you pass adekunle.

2. a. Carter Bridge,
b. Osborne/ikoyi,
c. Tafawa Balewa square exit.

You will always spot a lastma guy with their rod of perdition carefully hidden in plain sight at Carter and Osborne. If there's mad traffic, At TBS exit on TMB, they park their van at the intersection and wait for whoever is going to shunt the line from the 2nd lane.

Action plan:
During rush hours, the 3rd and 4th lane are your safest points.preferably the 4th lane. Don't be ABSENT Minded especially during morning rush hours when entering these points.

Let's keep the flame burning.

This is good for those who genuinely innocently fall.
But you see those who deliberately drive without thinking or consideration for other road users I say good for them. Sometimes we are our own problems. Why will I fully functional completely sane human being deliberately do what's wrong??

I was only talking to my fellow lazyD, former lazyD cos he said he’s now with you in ant leagues. I can’t drive everyday morning to night again, it’s impossible. I did that in the days of farenhz, I broke down twice while driving never again. I will take a day off, even Pilot and hostesses, doctors take days off.
The only problem I have is that your followers dashboard is not as consistent as yours?
Every other person posting dashboard e.g XGhost is not same figure every month.
But when I was shouting untop my voice then it’s doable but not consistent pearl1910 will use you as yard stick. I can someone work Monday to sunday every month... how ? Na machine ?
I know d next thing they will say is they are consistent but won’t post dashboard unless there is money on ground.
So many people have followed u motivation and broken down but won’t be sincere to come out.

I don wake let’s hit d street before lazyD dem wake up.

First thing is, did I say my target is 200k?
My issue with you guys has always beenand will continue to be the constant pessimism. That, you have been very consistent with. So I ask you, is it that every time you come out to drive na tales of woe you de get? If that's it then I'd say it's not the same for me.

I'll also be the first person to say "to each his own". Do what works for. If you fall ill as often as you claim then I'd say something's not right. If you repair car as often or fall into uniform hands often, something's not right. These things don't happen to me as often. I haven't "settled" anybody in more than a year. Last I was ill was in January. Doesn't mean it won't happen too. You cannot carry a negative attitude to work and expect positive outputs. The universe does not work like that.
I also say every time some days are great and some days, not so. However one constant I will state everyday is, there is money to be made. The business never cast. I am making money. So much so I no longer target 10k net daily, that's too small. It's the mentality that's changing. It's the efficiency that's changing. I can now afford to take two days off and still meet the target. I get to spend time with my girlfriend everyday and still meet the target. I work less and make more, that's what I've taken from cheerfulgiver, it wasn't for me to make 200k a week.

We are not the same you and me, or me and cheerfulgiver. To each his own, let everyone do him. You like night work,I don't, I only drive at night weekends.
But I won't sit somewhere and tell someone who needs a fair and unbiased opinion to make what can be a life-changing decision that e-hailing is sh!t.

And Of course it's not the same figure everytime.
Below is the last 3 months. August is my first full month since cheerfulgiver showed up. Pay attention to the trajectory.

Been following this thread for a month, read vital reviews y'all always made mention off.
Then, I started last week monday(30k rentals), around 2pm. Rested on Saturday, for a party. I did good, but I think I can do more.

Cheerfulgiver, I enjoyed reading your posts/comments before I began this hustle.

At some point, I wanted to return the car(I and lastma had a day, I paid 15k. My mistake on the road, I was so pained) I wanted to go home, but changed my mind. Collected the car from the official, and started all over for that day - recovered to an extent then smiled home. My love for driving doesn't want me quit just when I started.
Leaving home 5am, closing by 5pm(on the road).

We go again tomorrow!

Way to go. Life undulates all the time, how you ride the waves is what makes the difference.
You will learn, we all made mistakes, got chopped, we moved.
Keep the positive attitude king.

This fuel consumption thing is inconsequential if you ask me. I haven't felt the difference.

The problem with majority of these ehailing armchair pundits is that they are enshrouded and encapsulated by ignorance and pessimism and 100% devoid of commonsense. How this guy managed to lift a picture off the internet and came here to blast ehailing without mentioning office workers and people sitting at home watching Netflix and BBNaija all day goes to tell you the subzero level of his intelligence quotient, aka, IQ. Common sense dictates that you factually think through a thought before committing it to a public domain.

Another thing that beats me is how people think they are making sense when they type in all Capital letters... See him typing "A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE", after typing over 500 words... Lol. Stupidity

You are lucky...
Combination of factors, not just bad roads.
Top on my list is driving far before u reposition after dropping the rider, dead driving - waste fuel and valuable time. The time u will use to reach Ipaja from Ikeja I have done Ikeja to VI and back or VI to Lekki.
Corner corner roads, short distance that takes a long time to complete. Ikeja to Ipaja is 1,800max but in the same time one will do Ikeja to Ogudu or Gbagada to and fro.
When u now reach Ipaja, u will need to do prayer and fasting to get a trip back to Ikeja or Island. As most trips will be within or towards Ikotun or igando or Ijaiye or AIT (from frypan to fire) grin So I just avoid those Ipaja, Igando axis. From personal experience.
Except it's a long trip from the Island.

I understand, but like you said, long trip. First trip was from freedom way, as I was dropping him trip to jibowu. Then stadium to ipaja, immediately, trip to egbeda, she wan carry fridge ( I smiled and asked her "how now?" Cancelled and got trip back to Ikeja 1.9x. While waiting was when I posted earlier. Waited for her 15 minutes. She came out apologizing repeatedly, I had to tell issokay off your mic.
Things I consider.
1, it's a Sunday. Request can never be scarce, most times it'll be to ikeja, that's their Lekki. Less competition coz people like you don't like to come here tongue cheesy
2, I checked map for time and distance, TO AND FRO, did the calculation if it's worth it or not
3, Time of day
4, Ripe tomato everywhere

I don de lekki laidis

No be by force, when the trip enter, pick it and cancel or ignore it. Just try and balance ur activity. For the past 6 months I have not completed upto 30% of total orders that I have gotten.

I'm currently at ipaja, second time today. Been to egbeda and itire today. It's not as bad as their names sound, lol. Haven't been to sangotedo in a long time, I dey fear Terra Annex... What's the flooding situation of that place right now abeg
