Like Pearl said you'll make NET 50K in 2 days, 3 days max if you're just lounging. Rest on Thursday, hit the weekend and you'll be fine

For me, it's my daily take home that matters.
Your cost of living should drive u. Wear and tear will still catch up with u even if u are doing fewer trips and making 20k daily.
So if the 30k is okay for u, then all fine and good. Alot of people work from 7am to 4pm make 20k prpfit and they head home.
But for me, I will not close at 30k when I know I can get 50k before the day is over.
I am prepared to get the wear and tear and cover the cost with my extra income rather than get the wear and tear eventually 6 months later and can't cover the cost because I was contented with meagre income due to fewer trips.

Now most people are just greedy, they want to work less and make more. They are angry the app companies are taking a commission. The bane of development is when u continuously keep ur eyes on another man's money instead of concentrating on your own. Anytime u want to strike a deal or negotiate an offer, concentrate on what comes to u, never think of what the other person is getting.
That's why I will always choose Bolt over Indrive, because even with the lesser commission, it can't give me as much earnings.

If bolt increases fare by 20% to 30% and other apps does the same thing, trust me, riders will adjust..

Fuel price went up from 185 to 920 in space of 1 year, does it stop fuel from selling, people still queue to buy despite that much increment so, definitely, people will adjust to new price if they increase it as well...

In these cases, riders can now pay for what they get

I still have my contract with the indians, these are people that are very educated and vast in automotive industry, in the contract, they boldly ask for benchmark of 6km/l, this are people that knows that it's not possible for car to achieve 10km/l within cities and I'm not the only contractor under them, majority of contractor under them uses big daddy while we are 2 that uses corolla, the other person corolla have never achieved 9km/l at the end of their logsheet, it's always fall between 7.5km to 8km/l while the big daddies do highest 6.5km/l. I know they will come here to say those cars are not good, my big daddy is bought tokunbo o and according to the Indians calculations, it's doing 6.5km/l and to them, it's not even consuming fuel but to our guys here, they will say it's consuming fuel

Well I don't support going illegal cos of the excuse that things are hard. Any day I work full day I net minimum 40k after fuel and commission. This ur analysis isn't correct, the default calculation is that u make min 50% profit on every trip after commissions and fuel.
I think Bolt and Uber are trying to find an equilibrium between an affordable price for Riders and a profitable price for Partners. I still drive to see for myself so nobody is giving me bobo and I am not telling u what someone said.
Therefore, it's just greed, corrupt mindset and unprofessionalism to try to fleece the App companies of their dues. Sometimes they are very generous to give attractive bonuses, instead of cheat the system, why not work and get the bonus. Last month and early this month they were practically dashing 10k daily for just 7 trips without conditions. Last week and the week before they gave 50k/42k for 50/40 trips in a week depending on your category.
So even if one is tight on profit, those bonuses can help u with fuel. What more can they do to help, no be them be ur govt o.
Without the Bonus, and u are not an ant, u can earn 25-30k daily without upending anyone. It's not millionaire standard but that's 150-180k in a week and over 600k in a month. U think this isn't enough?

It's easy for drivers to say fuel went up 3X so fares should go up triple too or app companies should slash commission ignoring the fact that it's an ecosystem where riders app companies and drivers feed off each other, remove one and the system will collapse. Meanwhile all three arms are suffering from the same economic blows.

Imagine someone here (can't remember the moniker) did a trip from a whole addo to airport 18500(that a whole lot of money), his running cost (fuel and commission) is already like14-15k, his profit on that trip is not up to 4k and remember that trip would have lasted like 2hrs or more.

These days I don't buy full tank cos to make that money back with profit may seem difficult

They always have alterior motives despite the claim of fighting for drivers benefits from the ehailing apps. Imagine few of them at the helm of the affairs. Already claiming parking zones .

Whatever we are facing now in this country is a general thing for people that are mostly living honestly. Barbers no longer on gen at night, unless there’s a client. How many event did any witness today? What is the traffic situation like lately? Is there even anything such as peak hours at VI lately. Someone earning 150k and he’s spending 5k on transport everyday, what is left?

Economy ti da ru… Bolt increase price, but drivers are not loyal. Riders switch to Indrive and Drivers follow them. Price became poorer than it was before fuel increment. To the glory of God, I jejely drove my car back home and put energy into something else. Either indrive is working on price or they just don’t care. There’s no such thing as price threshold on Indrive right now and I can’t be using my eyes to see such nonsense. I picked one 2800 going to Surulere from Agege and told her what I saw is 28k, she screamed 😂 madness jam madness.

In a nutshell, drivers are way less compare to riders right now and the Suzuki boys are not helping (which is understandable). Some riders as well don’t even like the Suzuki and won’t ride on it (which is irrelevant). We human are social animals. The increment put people in tense and chokehold right now, but they can’t stay indoor for long before adjusting to their cravings and lifestyle. I think by next month, things will get much more better.

While I agree with you generally, I still see e-hailing like a niche market and many of it's patrons will use it irrespective of the price, at least for now. It's like DSTV, those who will use it will use it no matter how much the sub costs, even when there are cheaper alternatives. I also think the rider pool IN LAGOS is sufficient enough to sustain the market.
It's also aspirational for a lot of riders, people who see themselves as upwardly mobile or social climbers don't want to the bus route so it's either they drive or they cab, bussing is a step down.
Same way some riders will never use indrive or even bolt no matter how expensive uber is, or how I as a driver have refused to use any other app besides uber
no matter how profitable the other apps may seem.
In the end, like many things in Nigeria the market will self regulate and as usual Naija people will somehow find a way.

Bolt has lost a whole lot of riders. Imagine being on bolt for 20 mins and more and no request, even in a good area! Today no good at all!

Since the recent fuel increament, I buy 20/21k fuel and I make 55/60k, but today, with 20k fuel, I made 40k. It was Bolt's bonus that made it 46k, after completing 7 trips. Fuel don finish already. Time to sit down and have a rethink

I use Uber exclusively o, it's taken sheer willpower and patience to hit my target today
