Stop all these unnecessary speculations. If you have been contacted after the interview, it's because PTDF has assigned you to a particular school that further more requires you to take some additional steps to secure the scholarship. It doesn't mean you are on the final list automatically.

Infact, if I'm to be statistically unbiased then those contacted already have a slimmer chance of securing the scholarship, because if you don't meet up with the further requirements for your assigned school, you are out. Those who haven't been contacted have their options open especially those that did the UK interview and have not been contacted for FGC.

So if you have been contacted, kindly follow the instructions on the emails and pray to God you make it on the final list. If you haven't been contacted, just be patient. Don't let anxiety kill you

For ptdf (MSC) the minimum qualification is a 1st class, 2:1 or 2:2 with industry experience.... A guy with only 2:1 is as qualified as the guy with first class, publications and awards (though marks are allocated for awards and publications but only if you get to the interview stage)...secondly, if MSc guys were asked for publication .....i see no reason why they will contact a PhD applicant without even one publication. ...so please let's all calm down and hope for the best

You might aswell ask, what will make the guys with minimum qualification get it ahead of me.... There are 3 reasons...
1.. SOP... you might think your SOP is the best... Infact it might be the best, but the guy assessing it might look at it from another angle... "yes his SOP is very good and well coordinated, but I don't think he wrote it himself or he's lying".... For example during my nysc....a guy was seeking for the seat of Secretary General of our CDS group... During his campaign he said something that caught my attention.... He said he will provide busses that will be conveying corps members of the CDS group to the meeting location every week... Yes that's good enough... But is it realistic?
2. Prayers

Status has not changed yet, but very hopeful! I think selection status is based on the admission processed of your school choice. For instance, University of Bremen admission offer was out on June 6, 2018 and if one had applied or took that as his or her first choice, that person's status supposed to change to SELECTION MADE. Admission application to my first choice elaspes on July 15, so I still have a long time for waiting for it to be changed to selection made.

It has changed..... At least for all those guys that got the ptdf mail...

So in your mind I'm a small person who needs to be guided. You are very funny. First of all nothing was aimed at you. Secondly, the information you gave then was wrong. Just so you know the people who got the mail for Germany are academically sound with top notch credentials. Your methodology is wrong. I get my info from PTDF ,not from nairaland. Thank you.

Confirm, smallish figure, fair and wears glasses, omo that woman finish me oh, 2 of my former classmates who are lecturers told me about her and they made an extra effort to avoid her by selecting a different research area even though their proposals were in environmental engineering, they went to face an engineering panel coz she interviewed them last year and they didn't find it funny.

Confirmed... She's the one....lets just pray for success.

God bless u bro, I think it's coz the "Hausas" aren't whining about their experiences so the guy complaining feels he was stereotyped, I did my F/G/C in ATBU my alma mata, 3 Hausas interviewed me, one was a woman, Prof of biological sciences, the other was a Dr, was a DD St NOSDRA, omo by the time they finished with me ehn, I was sweating, questioned my everything about me, from my degree to my work place, I was shocked when I was seeing testimonies of ppl saying "just know ur proposal well" baba my own na die oh!!!
I even had to call 2 of my friends one is a lecturer in ABU and also did his interview, but told me it was a war of words oh, and this person is from Kano and the panelists were also "Hausas". He even said he met one of d professors a few days later at a gathering and told d man he had lost hope coz of d way he was grilled, d prof laughed and told him that usually they take time on a person if they're interested in d topic and most or all of the panelists have a grounded knowledge on d proposed research area.
I spoke to my friend who did his in abj, all he told me was that "bro the event is better imagined than experienced ".
On the flip side of d coin I did my UK interview today in PH ACE-CEFOR and it was fantastic compared to my experience in my alma mata, the man that interviewed me was Yoruba (I think), and allowed me explain my methodology even when it seemed like he didn't understand, I made a statement while presenting, he just cut briefly by saying "that's a wrong assertion but I should go on we will talk about that when you're done with ur presentation".
So that person whining should know he wasn't in anyway singled out.
I wasn't there when he was interviewed by if I was to comment about it I'll say he tried to prove he knew too much & d panelists will be like "OK na let's go there"

I think we were interviewed by same panelists then... Environmental/management....the woman is a prof... Then a Dr and one other guy (I don't know if he's a lecturer)

Yes I was asked... No... I didn't prepare any for that purpose.... And off course I presented (I'm an MSc student already)used the knowledge....

During the FGC interview, I was interviewed by 3 panelists (all Hausa), one of them even told me I'm not serious, that I have Rainin wayo (I don't know how to explain the exact sentence in English), that i think they are there to play just because I didn't come with 5 copies of my SOP (of which I wasn't asked to bring).... But I just had to calm down to avoid more frustration.... Infact I can swear that they didn't ask you to present a research proposal (MSc candidate), I was asked to present both my SOP and proposal.... Which I did... And they had no other option than to just calm down also... Please....stop this your hate. It won't take us anywhere...

Please and please.... No one should bring this "we Vs them" argument here.... I don't get it with all this Hausa Hausa Hausa.... Are you the only igbo person to be interviewed in UI? let's even say they want to fail you, the slot will still be giving to another igbo from your state..... I'm not disagreeing with you.... But we have mean people everywhere. (Hausa, igbo, Yoruba e.t.c) ....

When are you having yours? Mine is Thursday, 2pm.... Finding the center is not easy.....so come early... If you seem lost, ask for ABU phase 2 or business school,....and this is where you will sit and wait for your time...

DId the interview in abuja, and here are some of my observations and comments:

1. if PTDF were interested in recruiting based on merit, there should be a test. But this isn-t the case, because there is just an interview stage approximately 4 mins. Come on guys, this is NIGERIA.... the process is definitely open to nepotism i.e. you must know someone.
2. It will take generations for Nigeria to be great again. Must of our institutions e.g, NNPC, CBN, NIMASA, are filled with individuals - recruited not based on merit but on whom they know.
3. It very much surprised me that most of the employees i saw in PTDF were all our NORTHERN BROTHERS and sisters.

this whole process is a charade... NEPOTISM...

This same perception you have, was what made one of the panelists to ask me what part of the country I was from, because according to her I didn't sound like a northerner...it might interest you to know that those who make up the panel are not PTDF staff but rather lecturers and people of the industry.
Secondly, the schorlaship is based on federal character (quota system as others will call it), each state have equal representation.
I don't know if your allegations are true, but I'll like to remind you that abuja is not the only center we have....
