Important thing to keep in mind: There will always be people who will try to shut you down, who will be ableist, who will refuse to listen to you. You do not owe them your time. You do not owe them your respect, nor do you owe them a constant explanation of why it’s okay for you to exist. How you decide to interact with people like that is up to you, and it is always okay to steer clear of people who want nothing more than to discredit or hurt you. Boundaries and self respect do not make you arrogant, or a bad person, and it’s extremely vital to make sure you’re taking care of yourself just as much as you would for others. 4 Likes 1 Share
