Dkoo: Hello people pleas i need una help. i am a new student in the UK and so far it has been so good except for the problem i came here today with. please my brodas those who came here before me, how do i get a job? what kinda job is more likely for an international student to get? how do i apply for it? i mean if anyone has got a good website for jobs please give me its a plea..

Have been going through the thread for about three days, though am a newbie in all these and its not easy getting everything at once.
Pls guys I need guideline on applying for a Student Visa...But what I really need is how to choose a good school. I mentioned earlier that am a newbie, so don't be embarrased by any question I ask..Questions I ask may seem unreasonable to you guys.

My first question is which good University is admitting students btw february and April nxt year. Though am still serving, will be through with my service nxt year Feb and I plan to Move ahead for my Msc instantly,,I graduated from Futa, with a second class upper in Biology. Pls guys I need you to give mee a guideline on Schools which offers Admission easily.

I read About TOEFL, will do that as soon as possible and Maybe GRE too. Statement Of account is Not really a prob as I have about 2-3m in my account.

2nd Question is Must I do TOEFL b getting admission or after?
3rd Question is how long will it take to process the student visa?

beautyuche: The school has responded and will not be issuing another cas.They also advised i follow up the administrative review.On the other hand i defar my admission to september.

beautyuche: The school actually informed me of the 28 days duration as a condition to issue me cas when they saw my account detail dey told me i will not meet up with the cas deadline .on presenting them with a sponsorship letter they released the cas now if cas was issued on that grounds why will embassy refuse on similar grounds considering i already presented same document that brought about the cas in d first place.Do u understand

beautyuche: Thank you so much I keep hearing appeal will lead to waste of precious time so i hope the school send me another cas letteter today if i had waited before applicaztion my account would have been okay as the time to complete 28 days was 19th december.
Now i have to transfere back into that account cause i sent the funds to my savings account after i printed out the bank statement.
Also will i need to print another bank statement if the school issue me another cas letter today.

mukykaffe: am confused and dis 7000 £ has been in d account for d past 18 days now.but please if d visa ddnt work out can my tuition fee be refunded cos I hav paid all.

Unable to demonstrate maintenance funds of 7200 GBP in account for minimum period of 28 days


Firstly the CAS letter was issued to me based on the UK boarder Agency requirement on the maintenance upkeep. To this effect an Organizational financial sponsorship was sent to the school and accepted for CAS Issuance.

Secondly while filling my application under maintenance and fee( No 83 & 84) I explicitly stated that my official financial sponsor LES Hommes ltd will bear the cost of my maintenance fee as accepted by the UK boarder agency and have submitted along with the visa application , the accepted Letter of sponsorship, the Company Bank Reference Letter and the Company Bank Statement that were not referred to or rather ignored during the processing of my application .

Thirdly I am fully aware that the funds in my personal account will have been few days less of the minimum 28 day requirement and be sufficient within the application processing period. I submitted my personal bank statements to buttress the fact that I had funds of my own as support to my application as an ADD ON to my maintenance while studying in the UK. Using my personal account to refuse me entry clearance was inappropriate.

Kindly reconsider my application as I will lose my Official Sponsorship which is a rare opportunity given me to further my career as a Marine Professional as my course of study Chief Mate (Unlimited)/ HND Nautical Science could not be obtained in country and the school may not be able to issue another CAS reference letter as 6th December deadline has passed

beautyuche: My sponsor's company operates in nigeria. To think its not part of proof of sponsorship by ukba beats me .........my personal statement does not have that amount at the moment.The school's deadline for cas issuance was 6th of december do you think they will issue another one?
Also 13th january class resume deadline for resumption is 3rd febuary.If i build my account from monday do you think i will still meet up visa application?

beautyuche: [b]I was just refused visa on account that my account did not have the required fund for 28 dats as requested but they failed to consider me as my sponsor provided company letter for sponsorship, bank refence letter of sponsor andsponsor bank statement.Also they said my cas can no longer be used to re apply.I am stucked and confused now as my cas is valid till june 2014.what do i do.I plan to appeal though but any advise........please

Zeetry: i receive mail from uk vac Abuja,visa is issued and is enroute ikeja, how soon will it get there?though the mail says 2 working days. i am expecting sms anytime from monday, if not, i will go on tuesday( hopefully no public hols)

bunburized: Thanks dear. Do you have any suggestions where I can get a good winter jacket and shoe in Lag? I am having problems thinking of a place I can get them. I am betting on the fact that someone may have given a suggestion here in the past or you got yours in Nigeria before travelling.
Also, I intend using either emirate or qatar airline and they have a baggage allowance of 30kg(small if you ask me). I need to know the very essentials I must bring along(food + other items) so I don't leave the important stuffs behind.
Finally, how much in pounds do you advice I have on me when I travel and how soon can I open a bank account?
My bank assured me my mastercard will work over there but I will love to have a bank account. One shouldn't put all hope on a Nigerian bank promise.

bunburized: I was at vac 2day but still nothing. The dude who attended to me assured me it will be there 2mrw. However, after reading royalsweet's post that she got an email I had to check my spam and voila bhc abuja had sent me an email since Friday 13th Dec that my visa was issued. I have jst been unnecessarily worried since friday evening. Thank y'all for ur patience and assistance.

Now they can keep my passport till Friday if they wish. No more anxiety things
