#ASOMEC REPORT. THOSE PLOTTING DOWNFALL OF MY GOVERNMENT WILL FAIL - WIKE Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has asserted that all those who engaged in one clandestine activity or the other against his administration, to pull it down, have experienced utter disappointment. The governor maintained that the recent crises that were stirred within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), part of it, was spearheaded by people who, in secret meetings, plotted to bring him down. He said no one of such persons have survived achieving their plots. Governor Wike made the revelation at the Special Thanksgiving Service organised to celebrate the appointment of Hon. Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi as the Chief Judge of Rivers State, at St. Philip's Anglican Church, Elibrada Parish, in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday. He stated that nobody can tamper with who God has ordained, because but for God, he would not have become the governor of the State. "Recently, you heard there was some crises in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Everybody who was involved, that plotted everything for my downfall, all are out. Everyone, that slept, that went to a meeting, planning how they're going to bring me down, not one survived." The governor also alluded that similar plot was contrived when the former Chief Judge of the State, Justice Adama Iyayi-Lamikanra was to be appointed, but they also failed no matter how hard they tried. He wondered why somebody would render services for the interest of Rivers State and when it is time for appointment, people started to conspire and even tried plotting against his government. "When your predecessor, (Justice Iyayi-Lamikanra) was appointed, you have said here that people came to you to say she's not from Rivers State. Such people are enemies of the State. That is why this country cannot move forward. "Somebody who has put his or her life serving the State all through her career, making sure that the State moves forward, and at the time of benefits, you now say the person is not from your State. But all the services rendered was for the interest of your State. When your predecessor was appointed, people started to conspire, people started to plot against my government. Your colleagues, some of them started conspiring. I said, well, what will be will be. I do know that it is God that made me to become governor. Nobody will survive to plot the downfall of my government. Nobody will survive it." The governor explained that when Justice Iche Ndu retired as the Chief Judge of the State, the judiciary was plunged into crisis, resulting in the shutting down of the court for some years. According to him, even when the State did not have a substantive Chief Judge, billions of Naira were signed off steadily in the State judiciary. According to him, reports of the committee that was set up by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) indicted some principal judicial staff, some of who were eventually promised to be shielded by somebody who had hoped to become a Chief Judge. "And so the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has to set up a committee to investigate it because there was no Chief Judge, but look at the record, billions are being spent. Who is responsible of this expenditure? "You can't believe it, some registrars were using that opportunity to make money. You can't believe the kind of houses people at that level could will build within that period, and they were found guilty. "Some one who believes that he or she will be the next Chief Judge had to interfere with that investigation, and security picked it up. And simply because some of them are from the same community and she said, when I become Chief Judge I will set aside that indictment by the Judicial Service Commission, security picked it up. That was how you(Justice Amadi) became the Chief Judge." Speaking further, Governor Wike acknowledged the role played by the former governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, who appointed Justice Amadi to be a Judge of the State High Court, and also ensured that Ikwerre produced Governor of Rivers State. Governor Wike said it is not out of place for the Ikwerres to stand always with the Odilis because of his love for them and consider what affects them to affect the Ikwerres too since one good turn deserves another. Governor Wike enjoined the Chief Judge to be diligent in his duties, assertive in achieving results, utilise money meant for the judiciary judiciously and desist being vindictive. In his speech, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi acknowledged that only God deserves all the thanks for his benevolence over his life, and his appointment as Chief Judge. He noted that God uses men to accomplish his will and Governor Wike was God's instrument to make that appointment possible. In his sermon at the service, Archbishop of the Province of Niger Delta and Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ikwerre, Most Rev. Blessing Enyindah said it is only God who can raise any person from obscurity to prominence. He stressed that God expects those who have so enjoyed His grace and mercies in areas of good health, business successes and promotion to gladly acknowledge it by returning to thank him. Archbishop Enyindah enjoined the Justice Amadi who God has raised among other judges to become the Chief Judge of Rivers State, to not only thank God in the church as he has returned to do but be determined to continually discharge his duties conscientiously and give justice to the people. #ASOMEC REPORT: WIKE SIGNS INTO LAW BILLS ON VAT COLLECTION, OPEN GRAZING PROHIBITION, OTHERS. Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has signed into law bills on Value Added Tax (VAT) collection, Open Grazing Prohibition in Rivers State. He has maintained that the judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt had sufficiently addressed the illegality perpetrated by the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) on behalf of the Federal Government in the collection of VAT in States. The governor stated this at the Government House, Port Harcourt, shortly after signing into law on Thursday, the Valued Added Tax Law No. 4 of 2021; The Open Rearing and Grazing Prohibition Law No 5 of 2021; The Child's Rights Amendment Law No 2 of 2021; The Residents Registration Agency Law No 6 of 2021 and the Naming and Renaming of Infrastructure Law No3 of 2021. The signed bills were recently passed by the Rivers State House of Assembly. The Rivers State Governor pointed out that when agencies of the Federal Government are allowed to illegally demand and collect taxes meant for states to collect, they strangulate the States financially and turn them to be beggars. "But we (Rivers State) are standing on the part of history as representatives of the state to have taken the bull by the horn to challenge the illegality of the of the Federal Government through the Federal inland Revenue Services (FIRS). "Of course, we are all aware that the states have already been strangulated. Most states depend on allocation from federation account. States have been turned to beggars. Hardly will any day pass that you won't see one state or the other going to Abuja to beg for one fund or the other." The governor said no campaign of calumny or blackmail on the part of FIRS will make what is illegal to become legal. He dismissed FIRS’ propaganda that 30 states will suffer if some states are allowed to collect VAT. Governor Wike pointed out that the concerns should be on establishing whose duty is it to collect VAT and the constitutionality of such position before talking about who is going to suffer or not. “In this (Rivers) state, we awarded contract to companies and within the last month we paid over N30billion to the contractors and 7.5% will now be deducted from that and to be given to FIRS. "Now, look at 7.5% of N30billion of contracts we awarded to companies in Rivers State, you will be talking about almost N3billion only from that source. Now, at the end of the month, Rivers State government has never received more than N2billion from VAT. So, I have contributed more through the award of contract and you are giving me less. What's the justification for it." Speaking further, Governor Wike said there are plans already for FIRS to introduce Road Tax and this is likely to take away more duties from the States, and further emasculating them financially. "Which are the roads? Are they the roads the State government is paying for or the roads Federal Government has constructed? So, at the end of the day, they have taken over the functions of the State government and the State is left with nothing.” The governor remarked that the State have been so emasculated that they could barely survive without monthly revenue received from Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC). Governor Wike stressed that the over bearing attitude of the Federal Government, impinges on attaining financial autonomy for the legislature and the judiciary, since the States are not allowed to collect due revenues as specified by the country's constitution. According to Governor Wike, with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) passed and signed into law, there shall be unbundling of NNPC, which means that NNPC remittance to the federation account will be less, requiring every state to look inwards on how to survive. Governor Wike, while thanking the state lawmakers for their courage to have given the bill speedy passage, assured that every area that the law allows the state to collect revenue will be maximised for the survival of the state. Speaking on the Open Rearing and Grazing Prohibition law, No.5 of 2021, Governor Wike said it is inimical to development and peace, for any state to condone opening grazing of cattle. Governor Wike said cattle rearing is agricultural business and the law, which has specified ranching, is so intended in order to stem clash between herdsmen who go to destroy farmland, crops, and having problems with farmers that lead to fighting and killing of themselves. "It is no longer a story. All of us know what our people have suffered in terms of this open grazing. Today all Nigerians have come to accept the reality that open grazing is no longer fashionable. Even our brothers in the north have agreed that it is no longer fashionable." On the Child's Rights Amendment Law No 2 of 2021, Governor Wike noted that with such law in place now, family courts can become operational in the State. Governor Wike said the Naming and Renaming of Infrastructure Law No3 of 2021 will promote the naming of public facilities after prominent Rivers people. The governor also said that with the Residents Registration Agency Law No 6 of 2021, every resident in the State will be registered so that the State Government can know their status, what they do and where they reside for purposes of security planning. On his part, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani said, described the collection of VAT by FIRS as the worst form of retrogressive tax in any tax regime. He commended the governor and the state government for challenging the constitutionality of FIRS collection of VAT in States. According to him, the signing of the VAT law will ensure that Rivers’ people are not plunged into extreme poverty. “I am tempered to believe that Nigeria, the world over, is the only country professing federalism but with a unitary constitution. Which is the very opposite of what federalism stands for.” Speaking further, he said the law banning open grazing in Rivers State will serve as both cure to the symptom and the disease of herders and farmer bloody conflict. He said lawmakers will continue to partner the executive in providing requisite laws that will advance the state for the good of posterity. Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Martins Amaewhule said lawmakers delineated and gave speedy passage to the bills because of their relevance to the socioeconomic progress of the State. #ASOMEC Report: POLITICALLY MOTIVATED ARMY ATTACK ON RIVERS PEOPLE IN 2019 NEVER DAMPENED OUR SPIRIT - WIKE Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says the killing of Rivers people by the Nigeria Military in Abonnema Town during 2019 general election has not dampened the resolve of the people to always defend the nation's democracy. The Rivers State Governor was speaking at the flag-off of reclamation of 52 hectares of land for the Abonnema and Obonoma Towns in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the State on Wednesday. Governor Wike said the plan of the Nigeria military was to rig the election against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State, but the people of Abonnema resisted it and paid the supreme price defending the interest of the State. “They suffered it in 2019 when the military came and killed so many of our sons and daughters, because they wanted to rig the election through one of their own sons.” The governor continued: “They suffered because of their defence that PDP must not be rigged out. But, I can tell them that those who died, did not die in vain. They died in defence of Rivers interest; they died in defence of Abonnema. They died in defence of Obonoma interest, they died in defence of Akuku-Toru interest. And that is why we will never abandon this LGA for what they have done for us.” Governor Wike restated the need for politics to be development oriented devoid of hatred that often lie underneath the resolve by most politicians to kill their opponents. “Politics shouldn't get to the level we should kill our own people. That is not politics. Politics is what do I attract to my area for the entire benefit of my people.” He stated that the people of the Abonnema and Obonoma communities should be grateful, first to God and then to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because of the opportunity to see result of their unalloyed political support. According to him, but for PDP, it would have been difficult to witness the actualisation of the reclamation of vast land from the swamp for the benefit of future generations . Governor Wike said the people now have seen the difference between a party that tells them stories and a party that fulfills whatever promise it has made to them. "When the chairman of the council came, he said that I have a special interest in this local government. Special interest, yes, and it is because when we started this journey, this was one of the local governments that came out boldly and gave us all the necessary support. "That is why we have said we will never abandon this local government for what they have done for us." Speaking further, Governor Wike directed his Special Adviser on Special Project to send an application for additional payment of 20 percent for the contractor. This he said, will make it 70 per cent of total contract sum paid to the Master Dredger, the company handling the project. Governor Wike said he wants the project to be completed in 8 months instead of the proposed 12 months because he desires to map out the utility lines and eventual allocation of spaces within his tenure. Performing the flag-off, former President of Nigeria's Senate, Senator Adolphus Wabara said he has never seen where a state government has championed development in local government areas as executed by Governor Wike Senator Wabara noted that the projects, as confessed by the benefiting communities, addresses their most pressing needs, which will be used by everybody irrespective of their political party. He acknowledged the immediate pains associated with the ongoing construction of the 10 flyovers as experienced by residence of Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor councils. He urged them to be patient as there cannot be development without inconveniences. Earlier, Special Adviser to Governor Wike on Special Projects, Kelly-George Alabo recalled that a few months ago, Governor Wike had made a promise of executing the land reclamation project for the people. The governor, Alabo said, had thereafter directed commencement of the procurement process and at the end the contract was awarded with 50 percent mobilisation fee paid to the contractor. According to him, because land means so much to the people, the contractor has mobilised to site with personnel and equipment to fast tract completion of the project. Amayanabo of Abonnema, King Disreal Gbobo Bob-Manuel, who commended Governor Wike for fulfilling his promise to reclaim land for the community, disclosed that for decades, past administration have made similar promises, which was never actualised. We will no longer tolerate terrorist IPOB group in Rivers state |
*ASOMEC Report* : *A STATE-WIDE BROADCAST REINFORCING THE PROSCRIPTION OF IPOB IN RIVERS STATE.* BY GOVERNOR NYESOM WIKE, CON, GSSRS, POS 23rd OCTOBER 2020. My Dear Good People of Rivers State, 2. The Rivers State Government views with serious concern the unending destructive activities of the outlawed Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra (IPOB) in Rivers State. 3. Recall that the IPOB was classified as a terrorist organization by the Federal High Court and subsequently proscribed in September 2017 by the Federal Government. 4. However, despite its ban, the group has continued to operate in parts of the country, including Rivers State in furtherance of its alien political objectives. 5. Since its proscription, the group has carried out intermittent processions in parts of Rivers State, especially in Oyigbo and some notorious suburbs in Port Harcourt Local Government Areas. 6. More often than not, these illegal processions have become regular occasions for armed IPOB members to disturb the peace of the State by unleashing violence and destruction on lives and property at will. 7. The Rivers State Government had severally pleaded, warned and even advised IPOB and its members to discontinue its insurrectional actions in Rivers State to no avail. 8. Instead, we were all witnesses to yet, another orgy of violence and destruction inflicted by IPOB at Oyigbo Local Government Area and some parts of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Tuesday 21st October 2020. 9. This evil, wicked and audacious action resulted in the unnecessary loss of scores of lives, including soldiers and police officers, and the destruction of both public and private properties, including police stations, court buildings and business premises. 10. Not done, they also visited physical violence on members of some targeted community which, but, for the quick intervention of the State Government and the security agencies, would have resulted in some form of internecine bloodbath in the State. 11. Today, IPOB continued with its devilish and destructive activities at Rumukwurushi, Iriebe and Oyigbo in open defiance of the State Government’s curfew on human movements. 12. Security intelligence and surveillance have revealed that IPOB has continued to expand its membership drive, holding meetings regularly, and expanding its logistical base, including the maintenance of illegal detention cells in Emenike and other parts of Diobu, Port Harcourt. 13. As a matter of fact, Oyigbo town has practically become the group’s main operational base in Rivers State, from which they’ve become notorious for launching premeditated violence and terror on the State, businesses and innocent citizens. 14. As a people, we have become very much unsettled by the terrorist acts and endured the continuing irritations, violence, destruction and provocations of IPOB in and against the people of Rivers State. 15. We agree that Rivers State is part of Nigeria and has always been a home for all Nigerians and will continue to be because this is our true character. 16. But it must also be understood that Rivers State belongs to the indigenous people of Rivers State. 17. As a stranger element with strange political ideology therefore, IPOB has no legal or moral right to invade Rivers State or any part therefore at its behest; to disturb public peace; and subject lives and property to violence or threat of destruction under any guise. 18. What is clear from this behaviour is that our love, accommodation and hospitality towards all are being mistaken for weakness by the banned IPOB. 19. This being so, the time has come for us to sound this notice of warning that: enough is enough!!! We can no longer tolerate this IPOB evil monster in Rivers State. Never. 20. As a Government, we owe our people and all residents the responsibility to protect their lives, property and wellbeing and to prevent trouble-makers of all shades and character from violating our collective peace, security and pursuit of happiness. 21. Therefore, in view of the fact that IPOB has since been proscribed throughout Nigeria; and 22. Having come to the firm conclusion that the activities of the banned IPOB are not just dangerous to lives and property but also constitute clear and present threat to the existential interest and aspirations of Rivers State and all our people; 23. We have decided to reinforce, implement and enforce the existing judicial and national ban on IPOB by putting a total and complete stop to its presence and or activities in Rivers State or any part thereof. 24. Accordingly, as from today 23rd October 2020, the Rivers State Government has: [ ] (ii) Outlawed IPOB from existing and or operating in Rivers State or any part thereof in line with the proscription order of the Federal High Court and the Federal Government. (ii) No form of procession and or agitation by IPOB or any of its affiliates is allowed to take place in Rivers State or any part thereof, hence forth. (iii) Security agencies are hereby directed to stop any form of procession or agitation by IPOB in Rivers State or any part thereof and arrest and prosecute any person or group that identifies with the membership or activities of IPOB in the State; (iv) Government will issue an executive order to strengthen and ensure the effective enforcement of these measures; (v) I will be meeting with all leaders of youth groups and community development committees in the State on Monday 26th October 2020 to take wholistic measures to counter and stop all IPOB activities in Rivers State; (vi) Mr. Stanley Mgbere from Onne is hereby declared wanted for leading members of the banned IPOB to cause the recent violence and destruction of lives and property in Onne in Eleme Local Government Area; and (vii) A ransom of N50,000,000.00 will be given to any person with useful information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the said Mr. Stanley Mgbere. 25. I wish to appeal to the people of Oyigbo Local Government Area to remain calm and not to take the laws into their hands despite the intense provocation as government has the capacity to deal with the challenge and ensure the safety of lives and property in the Local Government Area. 26. We will soon carry out on the spot inspection and assessment of the destruction they have suffered and take appropriate measures to mitigate the loss and damage caused to lives and property. 27. We hereby express our sympathies to the families of all those that have either lost their loved ones or suffered damages to their properties from the destructive acts of IPOB in our State. 28. Be assured that they have not died in vain and we will do everything within our powers to give all the victims justice. 29. We appeal to leaders of the various ethnic groups residents in the State to ensure that their members respect the sensibilities of our people and refrain from provocations and acts of hooliganism that could breach peace and security in the State. 30. Finally, I wish to assure all Nigerians that Rivers State will continue to be the home for all tribes as we will not shirk in our responsibility to ensure the peace, security and happiness of all residents in Rivers State. 31. We cannot allow IPOB miscreants and other misguided similar groups to threaten our collective peace, security and wellbeing under whatever guise. 32. Thank you and may God continue to bless Rivers State.

#ASOMEC Reports: RIVERS PDP BERATES PRO-AMAECHI GROUP, FOR THREAT TO RIVERS STATE :Charges Police and DSS to arrest and prosecute them. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has expressed displeasure at the utterances of a group of the All Progressives Congress (APC) apparently loyal to the former Governor of Rivers State and Minister for Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. The group had in a viral video threatened the peace of the state should Ameachi their leader not have his way in the current crises rocking the Rivers APC. We wonder why the factional leader of APC will condescend to the level of allowing his supporters threaten the Government and people of the state over their party's self-inflicted crises. The utterences by the APC group is reprehensible and should have no place in a democracy. We call on the APC to unlearn this extremist approach and relearn decent and people centric politics as Rivers people would not accept extremism in the name of politics. We recall that on May 11, 2018, in what seemed like a scene out of a movie the Rivers State Judiciary Complex, Port Harcourt was held hostage and vandalised amid serious gunshots as supporters of this extremist APC faction tried to stop the courts from sitting. Rivers people will vehemently resist any further attempt by these miscreants to foist any brake-down of law and order on the state as we cannot fold our arms and watch the state get plunged into unwarranted crises by this blood thirsty group of extremists and their self-styled Emperor. We advise our youths not to allow themselves to be used as agents of crises and call on Rivers people to be vigilant and report any suspicious character or activity to the authorities. We also appeal to the Commissioner of Police and the Director Department of State Security to avert this crises by arresting and prosecuting these extremists and their sponsors. Hon. RIVERS PEOPLE SHOULD SEE FACTS AND VIGILANCE AS THE PRICES FOR THEIR SAFETY AND SECURITY AT THIS TIME MORE THAN EVER. - Robertson Jack, DG., Association of Social Media Connoisseurs in Rivers State (ASOMEC). 1. According to Tom Brokaw, "Bias, like beauty, is often in the eye of the beholder. Facts are your firewall against bias." 2. In view of the above quote, the Association of Social Media Connoisseurs in Rivers State (ASOMEC) wish to draw the attention of all well meaning Rivers people to some facts about the actions of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as Governor, in response to the consistent hypocritical lies and blackmails of his followers against every single effort by Gov. Nyesom Wike to protect the State against the spread of Covid-19. 3. They accused Gov. Wike of demolishing 2 hotels that violated the State Government's Covid-19 order without a court pronouncement. But they supported Amaechi when (as Governor) he demolished several buildings without court pronouncements and without paying compensation to the owners, some of which were said to be brought down because the owners were his political opponents. They include, but not limited to the following: a. A building at No.17 Woji Road, New GRA. PH., owned by Chief Maxwell Amadi. b. A building at No. 22 Onne Road, New GRA. PH. where Bluefontaine Company was (now at the Bic Building, Olu Obasanjo Road), owned by Mr. Sokipri Graham Douglas. c. A building at No. 9 Bishop Dimiery Street, New GRA. PH., where Dimiery Hotel was, owned by Chief Ebenezer Isokariari. d. A building at No. 177 Niger Street, PH., owned by Madam Mother George, a single mother who almost died out of the shock. e. And the slicing of a building at No. 1 Onne Road, New GRA., PH. (by Olu Obasanjo Road) where Everyday Supermarket was, owned by Chief Emma Anyanwu. 4. They also criticized the lockdown of Port Harcourt and Obio / Akpor LGAs. by Gov. Wike led State Government to curb the spread of Covid-19, michevously accusing the Governor of punishing Rivers people who live in both LGAs; but they celebrated Amaechi when he locked down the Courts (as Governor) for his selfish interest. 5. As usual, they're now spreading lies that Gov. Wike threatened that the resumption of the lock down in Port Harcourt and Obio / Akpor LGAs will last for 21 days because residents of the both LGAs didn't appreciate the temporary lifting of the lockdown. 6. These people are clearly enemies of the State who are behind the influx of Covid-19 infected people from the Northern parts of the Country, against the State government's order on boarder closure; using their proximity to the President to perfect their plans. All in a bid to paint Wike as incapable without looking at the security and safety of the lives of Rivers people. 7. ASOMEC is equally marvelled, as every well meaning citizen of the State and Nation would be, at the level of hatred introduced by these handful of bitter politicians into our polity, that is why we will continue to insist that Rivers people should be vigilant and factual in their reasoning, more especially at this time because, those who are bent on destroying us are not resting on their oars hence they resort to manipulative and deceitful means to incite the good people of Rivers State against the administration of Gov. Wike. May God help us.

HIRELING EZE CHUKWUEMEKA EZE'S LUDICROUS AND DIPPY BLACKMAILS AGAINST THE DISTINGUISHED SENATOR MAGNUS ABE, A DISPLAY OF BEWILDERMENT. - Rivers State APC Visionary Media Team. It has come to the notice of the Rivers State APC Visionary Media Team (RAVIMT), the increasing rate of very ludicrous blackmails and lies against the person of the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe by one Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a political hireling of the former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi. Within the past 2 weeks, the said Eze has written over 5 press releases all in a bid to (futilely) paint the Distinguished Senator as a desperate politician just to push him out of the way for his (Eze) paymaster, the former Transportation Minister to have his way and turn the Rivers State APC into his personal property as he has always desired. Although we are aware that the said Eze is publicly known as a man who feeds on lies and blackmail, but we still find it necessary to present some facts about the enviable track records of the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe to further prove to the public how ludicrous and dippy the blackmails of Eze are, and why their (Eze and his paymaster) efforts will always be efforts in futility. 1. PRINCIPLE: Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe is one man that has proven beyond reasonable doubt that indeed there are principled political leaders in our political parties. His consistency and principle in the advocacy for politics without bitterness and non violence since 1999 can not be disputed by anyone. No matter the level of provocation, the Distinguished Senator has never seen violence or bitterness as an option, and has never used rash words or threats in the pursuit for his ambitions as a politician. He is also among the very few political leaders who have not been investigated for corrupts practices at anytime. Even when he was on the hot seat as the Chairman Senate / Reps. joint committee on Subsidy, he came out clean to the admiration of all well meaning Nigerians. 2. CHARACTER. Across the country, Senator Magnus Abe is one political leader that is highly respected for his character. He's compassionate, grateful, humble, down to earth and detribalised by nature. After the expiration of his tenure as a Senator on the 29th of May, 2019, many expected that he will withdraw from public appearances (as that is the case with most politicians) to manage his losses and begin to struggle for appointment, as a frontline governorship aspirant whose party was deprived from participating in the 2019 elections in the State by the courts, caused by leadership failure in the party. But the Distinguished Senator in his usual charismatic manner, proved them wrong. * Firstly, he held a thank you meeting, few days after the expiration of his tenure with an extended stakeholders of the APC in his LGA. * Secondly, he held another extended State Stakeholders meeting of the party to appreciate them for making the sacrifices of insisting on Progressive Change in the party. * Thirdly, in less than 2 weeks after the State Stakeholders meeting, the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe held yet another thank you meeting with the Kairos Maas International, a Social Media group with very intelligent young men and women who promoted his governorship ambition. * And fourthly, the Distinguished Senator also organized a program where he empowered over 100 PhD students from his Senatorial District, in different higher Institutions of learning, who were screened by their schools with a well endowed HP laptop each, without recourse to party affiliations. Apart from all that, the Distinguished Senator has also enviably maintained his closeness to Rivers people. Almost every weekend, he honors the invitations of his followers, supporters, relatives and friends irrespective of their class, tribe, political affiliations and status. 3. RESPECT FOR INTERNAL DEMOCRACY AND THE RULE OF LAW. Haven closely followed his political history, we can say without fear of contradiction that the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe aka "Champion of Internal Democracy" has never imposed anybody on any elective position in his Ward, LGA or Constituency all through his political career. He is a man who believes in democracy, and has always been eminently prepared to win every election he had contested for. As a fine gentleman and a lawyer, the Distinguished Senator is also a known respecter of the Rule of Law and has never disobeyed any court ruling by words or action, or has threatened or oppressed anyone who disagrees with him politically in any form. And we ask, is the above outlined facts about the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe the ways of a desperate politician as been futilely painted by Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, the political hireling of the former Transportation Minster, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi? The Rivers State Visionary Media Team (RAVIMT) wish to state with emphasis that what our dear party in the State needs now is absolutely not the hiring of the services of professional blackmailers and liars from neighboring States against prominent Rivers sons who're driven to serve the interest of the generality of APC members in particular and Rivers people in general like the Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe, but to come together, forgive one another, accept the Truth, and sincerely accept and practice the PROGRESSIVE CHANGE agenda of the party, which is rooted in "Internal Democracy and Inclusiveness" to build public confidence and prepare for the challenges ahead. And do away with the present situation where the attempt by a few to continue to deceive themselves that one man's interest is the interest of the party has kept us in this state of despondent. Finally, Eze and his paymaster should remember that "1 man with a selfless belief is worth more than 99 people who have only selfish interest" A word is enough for the wise.
