I read a topic with lots of responses here about sleep paralysis, it has happened to me a lot of times and I thought it was a kind of 'demonic oppression', then I changed my view to the scientific explanation involving disrupted REM sleep. Two similar experiences which I will discuss here have changed my view yet again of sleep paralysis.
One night I slept off while watching a movie with my sister, at a point I 'woke' up to the familiar feeling of sleep paralysis, I could see and hear my sister and the movie she was watching, i tried my best to call her but I couldn't. After a while she looked at me then walked over and tapped me, I felt 'freed'. When I got up, I asked her why she tapped me, she said I was grunting heavily in my sleep, I asked if my eyes where closed and she said yes. The second experience was almost the same, the only difference was the person involved in the waking.
My explanation of sleep paralysis is that it occurs when the spirit leaves the body (similar to dreaming), and returns when the body is yet to wake up (notice that you always wake up at the end of a dream), at this point there is a kind of 'disconnect' between the body and the spirit. Many people who experience sleep paralysis can actually see what's happening around them, but do not know that their eyes are physically closed. During sleep paralysis, you sometimes hear strange sounds, see strange objects, or feel a 'presence', these disappear immediately you are fully awake. This is because they come from another 'dimension' that only your spirit can perceive.
Sleep paralysis is usually very scary because it is like being trapped between the physical and the spiritual realm. I 'believe' with learning to control your mind (similar to meditation) you can actually control your spirit during sleep paralysis.
My views are totally from experience so I have no scientific evidence to prove them, people who have experienced sleep paralysis will understand them better. I'd like to hear your views on this

This is the second time orlando magic has lost a big man to la lakers (the first was Shaq), it's a good move though... I'd really like to see what the lakers coach has up his sleeve, considering that pau gasol who hasn't been bad is still in the team. Kobe with his good vision and dwight howard with his nearly unstoppable low post finishes would make a formidable offence. Btw Howard is much better defensively than Gasol

Remove the battery of a BlackBerry device, put it back, and it will take at least 5 minutes to fully power on.

Prove any of the things I said about BlackBerry wrong.

I swear you all are just being foolish in your replies, depends on what you want in a phone... Blackberry phones have always been there, they became a lot more popular when the makers decided to incorporate social networking apps in it (with the rise of facebook et al). If you tweet and chat a lot, you'd know that very few phones do it better than a blackberry. I use a blackberry and an android and the blackberry fits my heavy downloads (I even download computer software as large as 300mb several times in a month on my mtn subscription)

Miami heat all the way, Lebron finally got the only thing missing from a fairytale career... Good try thunder (I guess sango was sleeping. Lol) this title is going to be in the eastern conference for a while. Still lakers at heart though (its kobe after jordan, greatest ever). And to those who think basketball is a boring sport, y'all need to wake up

The 3rd game of the NBA finals series went down early this morning with miami now leading 2-1, Thunders' inexperience was exploited by the 'finals tested' Heats. The Thunders threw away a 10 point lead in the 3rd quarter, thanks to Russel Westbrook having a bad day... The finals is going Miami's way, just the way i want it. Up Lebron and the statue of liberty dunk!

Am I the only one who has noticed? Every other major sport competition makes it to the front page, tennis, football, even hockey sef except basketball (NBA). To think that the biggest series of the NBA season are going on now and nairaland is napping is major dulling.
Its the dream NBA finals baby! Miami Heat vs Oklahoma city Thunder... Or better still Lebron James vs Kevin Durant. I love Durant, but I'm crazy about Lebron and I think no one deserves the NBA ring more than him this season though, the guy has practically been carrying miami on his back... Let's hear you---->
