At exactly 4:10am, Mahmood Yakubu the Chairman of INEC, the only one empowered by the constitution to declare the results of our presidential election has acted, thus igniting the mood of celebration in Lagos, a state, his pronounced winner lost to Obi during the election. Whether the declaration is constitutional or not, lawyers will tell us. His proclaimed winner, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while the results were being collated had adviced those who may not be disposed to the outcome of the result to go to court. It reminded me of an East African proverb which states; “Whenever a thief encourages you to go to court, just know that his elder brother is the judge”.... https://www.thenews-chronicle.com/2023-presidential-election-process-and-the-result/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost follow us on Facebook for more https://web.facebook.com/tncng Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/ThenewsC

Since Saturday when the Bvas couldn’t upload results; the name INEC began to trend on social media. Till this moment the commission is still on the trolling list of Nigerians. What really was the offence? Collecting money to rig the elections? Providing the claws for the elections to be manipulated and the will of the masses scuttled? Why are you all shouting as if this is their first outing in election manipulations? Why get disappointed over the bribery allegations as if it hasn’t been their stock in trade? Why rain curses and vituprative comments on INEC staff for being who they are ? Does a leopard change its spots? Can INEC suddenly begin to Live outside the demands of its DNA ? From the time of Humphery Nwosu down to to Jega to this present chairman the reputation of INEC and its staff hasn’t changed? After four years during which the All Progressives Congress and President Muhammadu Buhari have ridden roughshod over Nigerians ,the country is in the pangs of childbirth, with anxiety washing through many people about what a difficult birth will bring forth. On Saturday February 25 2023,Nigerians descended like locusts upon different polling units across the country to take their destiny into their hands and decide their fate. Armed with their voter cards and possessing faith in the power of a vote, many Nigerians braved the inclement weather, their suspicions of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and their residual fear of electoral violence coming from previous elections to insist that their votes must count... https://www.thenews-chronicle.com/election-results-a-country-holds-its-breath/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost follow us on Facebook for more https://web.facebook.com/tncng Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/ThenewsC

The Rivers faction chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council (PDPCC) through its Director of Publicity and Communications, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, had alleged that Rt. Hon. Unitary Nigeria is essentially a military legacy for the country has always been a federal environment. Colonial Britain recognized this fact since the 30s. Thus Bernard Bourdillon, the Governor-general at that time initiated and laid the foundation of federalism in Nigeria in 1939 by creating three provinces. He later handed over the draft constitution to his successor Arthur Richards and it became the Richards Constitution of 1946. Federalism as a system of distributing power between national and state governments progressed in Nigeria since then, until the military coup of January 1966 when the military imposed a unitary system in Nigeria. The concept of federalism is embodied in the 1999 Constitution, which refers to the division and sharing of power between the national and state governments.... https://www.thenews-chronicle.com/restructuring-not-reforms-the-issue-in-nigerias-presidential-election/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost follow us on Facebook for more https://web.facebook.com/tncng Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/ThenewsC

Watching Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the executive governor of Kaduna State in the evening of Thursday February 16, make a counter state-wide broadcast to President Muhammadu Buhari’s earlier verdict in a nationwide address on the naira redesign policy, made me reminisce the tragic story of May 30, 1967. That was the fated date when the Late Igbo warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, used his power as the Governor of Eastern region, to make a counter pronouncement to the creation of 12 states by then Head of State — General Yakubu Gowon, and declared Eastern Nigeria “Independent State of Biafra.” The General Yakubu Gowon-led federal government charged him for treasonable offences against the Nigerian State and the rest became the history we knew today as genocidal pogrom of the Igbos and the 30-month bloody civil war.... https://www.thenews-chronicle.com/apcs-fuji-house-of-commotion/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost follow us on Facebook for more https://web.facebook.com/tncng Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/ThenewsC

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, and one-time presidential candidate, Dele Momodu has disclosed that Atiku Abubakar will emerge victorious in the February 25th presidential polls. In an interview with Arise TV, monitored by The News Chronicle, Dele Momodu added that Nigerians will vote based on tribal affiliation thereby giving the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar a hedge against his opponents. Speaking further on his analysis, he noted that both the APC and Labour Party presidential candidates will share the votes in the South while Atiku Abubakar will scoop a block vote in the North, adding that the North has the number. Nigerian’s presidential election scheduled to hold on the 25th of February will be a keen contest election between three major candidates, the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party, Peter Obi. Faulting the Bloomberg polls that projected Peter Obi ahead of other contenders, the media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu stated that the majority of Nigerians especially those in the North have no access to mobile technology which could have allowed them to partake in the polls. He added that Nigerians do not care about the opinion polls. Stating further, he noted that the APC is a house divided against itself, claiming that the PDP Candidate, Atiku Abubakar is the only true nationalist who has the widespread and nationwide acceptance to deliver Nigeria from its current numerous challenges. He recalled that the APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been attacking the government and policies of President Muhammadu Buhari, noting that the ruling party is playing to be an opposition while in the real sense, it has been in power in the past eight years. https://www.thenews-chronicle.com/forget-online-polls-atiku-will-be-elected-president-in-2023-says-dele-momodu/?utm_source=ReviveOldPost&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=ReviveOldPost follow us on Facebook for more https://web.facebook.com/tncng Follow us on twitter https://twitter.com/ThenewsC
