Dorwadora:How about a feature that let's you block threads from categories you don't like so, even when mods push them to fp, you won't see them ? |
ThatrealestApex:What would you like to learn ? There are dozens of free resources on the internet. At best, one can only advice on pitfalls. |
MadamVanessa:Old and still strong, Nairaland still got my respect. |
siofra:Nairaland already has a ban feature, members can get banned from accessing a section of the forum as well as a global ban feature which locks out spammers completely from logging in |
So, I am software programmer who happens to be building a forum software similar to nairaland, being one of the few people who watched nairaland grow from using simple machines software to what it currently is, I understand it lacks certain features that you might need So far, I have the following features on my list 1. Blocking allow members to block certain members from mentioning and following them 2. Messaging allow members to message themselves without need of exchanging emails 3. Wallet allow members to fund their wallet via paystack to run advertisements Add yours Modified: 4. Customized Frontpage threads will still be pushed to the frontpage by moderators but members can choose to exclude seeing threads from sections they don't like, this way it makes the frontpage be more of what a member is interested in |
Eddicated:haha ! what exactly are you trying to achieve ? contact me on whatsapp |
pretydiva:Shut up ! |
A great win for the boys ! |
iykejohnson:Affect me, How ? Majority of the people using GB whatsapp are up to no good |
hardon1:I wouldn't have time to manage it, I'm currently engaged, I actually intended to use it myself in the first place, I never had plan to sell it. |
Jessie516:There is something we call liquidity, the fintech company charges fees for all the different currencies transactions that passes through them, assuming someone sends you dollars, they'll take a cut like 3.5% as processing fee, through transaction fees alone they could have enough dollars to sell to another user and vice versa |
kryptochats:You'll probably need some kind of partnership just like abeg app did with VFD bank, the easiest solution is to use flutterwave or monnify, it's cheap enough, I'm curious to know why you don't want to use them |
jiday4:Get off my mention, old man. |
NairabIogger:Lmao ! If e easy, do am ! Low life, indeed. |
Onyinyechi22:good for you ! I detest that app, once I find out someone on my contact list uses it, I block them immediately from viewing my status and never take them serious again |
hardon1:This is like asking car manufacturers why they sell cars rather than become cab drivers themselves. I am not selling a course, I am selling a customized software built from scratch that people can use to create a forum like nairaland. Ask around, it's very profitable on the long run, nairaland is a good example |
flames007:do you mean classified ads ? You need to have a 70 to 100k budget atleast. I currently have the one with a digital content marketplace and E-wallet for users to deposit cash via paystack to run ads and buy things on the forum, I'm selling the software for N150,000 though you can bargain for it if you have something to offer in exchange for a discount, it has every feature nairaland has, likes, shares, following/followers, private messaging, mentions e.t.c |
Why start a blog and not a forum that you can retain members and get them to post as well ? If you want to start a forum website like nairaland, I have the software with paystack integration and additional features like marketplace where users can upload ebooks and other digital contents for sale and you as the forum owner will earn a percentage from each sell, you can make steady income as a webmaster just like Seun does by selling your own ad spaces and running google adsense at the same time |
The phone looks ugly |
ugotex85:Advertising ? It's left for you to decide your advertising strategy to get members to join, you can choose google ads, bing ads, facebook ads or even advertise on nairaland, you may even decide not to spend a dime on ads, we mostly have around 1,000 friends/followers these days on facebook, twitter e.t.c you could just invite some of your friends to join and they invite their friends to join and the circle continues till your site gets big, the key to get people to stay on your site is to create engaging contents they can talk on and share to their followers and friends just as how nairaland likes pushing controversial news to the frontpage |
yusman14:yes, it'll run smoothly but some laptops come with 4GB or 6GB RAM with an option to add additional RAM so, you need to be careful when buying because vendors will want to sell it to you as an 8GB RAM laptop meanwhile it comes with 4GB or 6GB and can be upgraded to 8GB RAM |
ugotex85:it's not a mobile app, it will be accessible via a browser just like nairaland. |
temiyato:with hyperthreading right ? core i3, what generation ? Try running firefox or google chrome at the same time and see for yourself, you'll notice the lag in most core i3 |
Myzubby:RAM and processing speed is very important when it comes to building models, anything less than 8GB and core i5 will frustrate you |
It depends on what you want to do. If you're doing machine learning or android development, my dear, you'll need a minimum of 8GB RAM and not less than a core i5 to be a little bit comfortable, but if it's just web development you can even use a 2GB RAM laptop with less than 500GB HD just make sure it's 64 bits architecture |
Chuvin22:Lol! They are addicted to suffering that's why. It doesn't make any sense to stay in an area with a high cost of living and traffic congestion when you've got other options. Choosing a place where you'll save money and won't be stressed is real wisdom, you can always travel to other places for holidays from there once in a while. |
In this age of remote work, you don't really have to migrate to work abroad sha, just find one peaceful state and a location with good internet, earn in dollars and spend in naira. |
MyExpression:mail me |
MN07:minimum cost for a tiktok clone should be around 500k depending on the overall features and timeframe |
ugotex85:You pay once and the software is yours forever and anytime I update to add new features, you'll be eligible for a free upgrade. You can manage the contents yourself or assign some users to be moderators, you can choose any advertising option you feel, google ads, bing ads or facebook ads. The price is negotiable as well |
MyExpression:Sure, I can |
MN07:Yes, but I'm not in lagos. |
