Microstrategy CEO Michael Saylor has suggested Nigeria and Zimbabwe issue currencies that are backed by bitcoin if they want to fix their economies. He surmised that using the bitcoin standard will end starvation and allow citizens of both countries to have a decent life. National Currencies Backed by Bitcoin In a video clip where he also addresses claims that the Bitcoin network cannot scale, Saylor suggests that if Nigeria and Zimbabwe purchase bitcoins worth $2-3 billion, they could well end the currency woes they presently face. Saylor explained: You wanna fix your country like Nigeria, or Zimbabwe? The way you fix your country is you buy $2 billion, $3 billion worth of bitcoin and you issue currency backed by the bitcoin. That is the bitcoin standard. And every one of your citizens stops starving to death. And they live a decent life. Bitcoin as ‘the Kingmaker’ Before mentioning Nigeria and Zimbabwe, Saylor, whose company now holds more than 114,000 bitcoins, also identifies Turkey as another country that could buy bitcoins and use them to back the lira currency. According to Saylor, if Turkey were to purchase bitcoins worth $5 billion and hold these for the next five years, this could potentially strengthen the lira currency. Despite Saylor’s constant exhortations, only one country, El Salvador, appears to have taken heed of the advice. Many other countries, including Nigeria, have instead chosen to create their own digital currencies which they hope will diminish the appeal of bitcoin. However, in the same video, Saylor insists this will happen and this will prove that bitcoin is “the kingmaker.” Do you agree with Saylor’s sentiments on bitcoin? Tell us what you think in the comments section below. |

KIM JONG-UN, North Korea's Supreme Leader is dead - according to multiple sources coming out of North Korea and the Far East, though due to the hyper-secretive nature of the pariah state the exact picture remains unlcear tonight. It was being reported as fact by media outlets in China and Japan that the 36-year-old dictator was dead. Other sources said he was on his death bed in a vegetative state with no hope of resuscitation after botched heart surgery. Because of the nature of the ultra secret regime in North Korea claims of Kim Jong-un's death are very difficult to verify before an official state announcement. If Kim is dead, official verification might only come from North Korea state media, which delayed the announcements of the deaths of Kim’s despotic predecessors, his father and grandfather, for up to four days.

Will a one-time $1,200 stimulus check be enough to pull the U.S. economy out of the doldrums? No, according to Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) and Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH). That's why they introduced a bill in Congress that would give every qualifying American over the age of 16 a stimulus payment of up to $2,000 each month for up to a year (plus $500 for up to three children)If the Emergency Money for the People Act became law, the $2,000 monthly payments would be guaranteed for at least six months. They would then be renewed for another six months, unless the employment-to-population ratio for people ages 16 and older returns to the pre-coronavirus employment level of 60%. These payments would not count as income, so they would not affect your eligibility for any income-based federal or state government assistance programs. Eyes of lagos interview with designer / entrepreneur CYPAID 1.Tell us a little about yourself My name is cynosure Neville , also known as Cypaid, founder and creative director of Designed by Neville, but most people call me cynosure because I used to be the editor in chief for cynosure magazine. Have a bachelor degree in Bio medical laboratory technology and also have an international business certificate from san Francisco city collage. I grew up in a diversed and mixed background. I was born in Nigeria, raised Jamaica & UK before finaly settling down in the United states, San Francisco to be specific. So I think being raised in multiple cities has made me open to all different types of people, cultures, food etc. I’ve always felt lucky to be from different sides of the world. I love travelling and living life to the fullest, like there is no tomorrow. I try to find happiness in small things of life. I call myself a fashion scribe, because I’m so self conscious when it comes to fashion but I’m not a slave to trend. 2. Did you always know that you wanted to build your own brand? That’s a big yes, have always loved fashion from infancy. My early curiosity for trends made me to be obsessed with fashion, so that channeled my love toward pursuing a career in fashion, I’ve always been very strong-minded and opinionated about fashion; what I want to wear, what looks best on others, and just about fashion in general. I love the power of clothing and the transformative quality of choosing the right clothes to wear. When I was in middle school, I will use Sharpie, water color and even screen print my own clothes so as to stand out from the rest kids in class. I took pride in having the best outfit, or at least making the biggest effort. lol. So now that I’m much older I said to myself it’s time to turn this hobby or obsession into a full time business. 3 How did you come up with this concept? I tell people I’m an old soul trapped in a young body, because I love to inspire and motivate people, I have a penchant to imbibe the self independent culture into people, encourage them to hustle hard and believe in themselves. My first collection inscription was “MAKING MONEY MOVES “, and my second collection which will be launched this fall got the ” SECURE THE BAG” inscription, to me fashion is a language. So I wanted to communicate with my designs, bring beauty and positive vibes into the world through fashion. 3.Whats your vision for the future of your brand? Right now I’m only selling online, I hope to do pop up shops next year, showcase my brand on the runway, and also have my own shop at the mall , I’m also working on collaborating with top fashion houses, I cant really give out names right now, the talk is still ongoing, but as soon as I get the deal sealed you will be the first to know 5.What advice do you have to give to inspiring creatives? Just don’t give up on your goals, it will eventually pay oneday. Yes I know its not easy, so you have to be passion and goal driven, strivehard to excel and put your best in whatever you do, network with innovative and like minded people and get yourself a dedicated team. https://eyesoflagos.com/2020/04/24/eyes-of-lagos-interview-with-designer-entrepreneur-cypaid/

The US Department of Agriculture listed Wakanda as a free-trade partner - despite it being a fictional country. A USDA spokesperson said the Kingdom of Wakanda was added to the list by accident during a staff test. The department's online tariff tracker hosted a detailed list of goods the two nations apparently traded, including ducks, donkeys and dairy cows. In the Marvel universe, Wakanda is the fictional East African home country of superhero Black Panther. The fictional country was removed soon from the list after US media first queried it, prompting jokes that the countries had started a trade war. Wakanda first appeared in the Fantastic Four comic in 1966, and made a reappearance when Black Panther was adapted into an Oscar-winning film last year. The unusual listing was spotted by Francis Tseng, a New York-based software engineer who was looking up agricultural tariffs for a fellowship he was applying for. He told Reuters news agency that, when he first saw Wakanda on the list, he got "very confused": "[I] thought I misremembered the country from the movie and got it confused with something else." Black Panther: No ordinary Marvel movieBlack Panther star on being 'young, gifted and black'Black Panther winners make Oscar history After the listing was removed, a USDA spokesman told the Washington Post that Wakanda's listing was added as a test file for staff, and was never supposed to be public . The Wakanda information should have been removed after testing and has now been taken down," he said. After its removal, an Orlando-based reporter asked: "So do we, or do we not have free trade with Wakanda? Also where are things at on negotiations with Agrabah?" This is not the first time a fictional country has slipped into the real world. In 2017, Poland's then-foreign minister Witold Waszczykowski told reporters he had met representatives of a number of nations to discuss Poland's bid to join the UN security council - "such as Belize or San Escobar" . While Belize does exist, San Escobar does not. At the same time, officials have occasionally erased countries that actually do exist. In 2004, for example, the cover of an EU guidebook featured a map of EU member states, including the UK. Wales, however, was mysteriously absent. Source: BBC.COM

Nigerian man hacked the US govt and gave his family and friends permanent citizenship The US had been cracking down on cyber scammers recently, over 80 Nigerians had been arrested in the USA for internet fraud and other online crimes during the fourth quarter of 2019. After the arrests, more charges were pressed on some of the suspects and one of them is not just a scammer. Abaeze Atuche is a hacker and he had done something that no hacker had ever attempted to do before. Atuche hacked the US government and gave all members of his family and 15 of his friends’ permanent American citizenship. As we speak the American government is in a process of deporting all 33 people who got their citizenship as a result of Atuche’s hack. No details as to how he pulled it off yet but insiders say his skills are unbelievable. “The US government online network is impregnable but this guy proved it otherwise. If he was not arrested I don’t think there was ever going to be an investigation on how his family members got their citizenship”. Abaeze Atuche is only 29 and the hacking started five years ago when he was only 24-years-old. He entered the US using a fake American passport in 2013 and never left. By 2016 his big family and 15 of his Nigerian friends were permanent US citizens.

Britain's Export Finance Agency will add the Naira to its list of "pre-approved currencies", allowing it to provide financing for transactions with Nigerian businesses denominated in the local currency. The Naira will become one of three West African currencies that UK Export Finance has pre-approved for its programme of funding transactions that promote trade with Britain, it said. Britain voted to leave the European Union in 2016, which has forced London to rethink its trade ties with the rest of the world. It has said it would start preliminary talks with India about an eventual bilateral trade deal. The United Kingdom and the EU struck an agreement in December that opened the way for talks on future trade ties. This is a clear indication of how much value the UK places on its relationship with Nigeria. It will provide a firm foundation for a significant increase in trade and investment between both countries," Reuters quoted the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, to have said in the UK's credit agency statement. The statement said the UK would provide up to 85 per cent of funding for projects containing a minimum of 20 per cent British content

Algebra is one of the biggest hurdles to getting a high school or college degree — particularly for students of color and first-generation undergrads. It is also the single most failed course in community colleges across the country. So if you're not a STEM major (science, technology, engineering, math), why even study algebra? That's the argument Eloy Ortiz Oakley, chancellor of the California community college system, made today in an interview with NPR's Robert Siegel. At American community colleges, 60 percent of those enrolled are required to take at least one math course. Most — nearly 80 percent — never complete that requirement. Oakley is among a growing number of educators who view intermediate algebra as an obstacle to students obtaining their credentials — particularly in fields that require no higher level math skills. Their thinking has led to initiatives like Community College Pathways, which strays away from abstract algebra to engage students in real-world math applications. http://ambervibe..com/2017/07/say-goodbye-to-xy-should-community.html?m=1

Wizkid, the Nigerian pop star who appeared on Drake's otherworldly smash single "One Dance," released his fourth album last week, entitled Sounds From the Other Side, but in an interview with Ebro Darden on Beats 1, the 27-year-old refused to call the release an 'album,' instead choosing to label it an 'EP.' To be clear, at 12 tracks long and with a running time of just over 39 minutes, Sounds From the Other Side is not an EP—it literally cannot be an EP. An EP, short for extended play, was originally created to house a collection of songs greater than a single but lesser than a full-length LP (or long play). Depending on the era and the country of release, the definition of what constitutes an EP versus an LP has changed quite a bit over the past seven decades, but as recent as 2015, it was broadly defined as a collection of four records or less and approximately 25 minutes in length. Album versus EP, EP versus mixtape, for sale versus for free—it's all meaningless in 2017 and the reason is streaming. When music had to fit onto one side of a piece of vinyl, one side of a cassette tape or on a compact disc, an artist had to either limit the number of songs that made a project or release a double-album. But when every song that is created for a project can be made available for stream through an on-demand service, you get Drake's More Life "playlist," a new-age marketing gimmick afforded by the streaming era. We'll excuse Wizkid for not understanding the difference between an album and an EP—at this point, it's nothing more than semantics anyway—but one thing that must be cleared up is what an EP is not (and yes, I'm looking at you Ebro). In the open, Ebro says to Wizkid, "I see why you're calling this an EP, it's a collection of all of the work that you've done over the last couple of years [while] breaking into America." By definition, a project that is comprised of a collection of random, assorted songs or singles isn't an EP, it's a compilation. The only way that a compilation could technically also be considered an EP would be if the runtime for the project came in under the aforementioned 25-minute threshold. Ultimately, Wizkid's ability to break into the U.S. market without sitting shotgun next to Drake won't have anything to do with the way he labels his releases. Is the music great? That is all that matters https://ambervibe..com/2017/07/wizkid-thinks-his-12-track-album-is-ep.html?m=1

In late 2016, Desiigner dropped a video for hisVinylz-produced track “Outlet.” However, that “video” was nothing more than a glorified advert for Champs Sports with NFL quarterback Dak Prescott. Desiigner does a redo on “Outlet,” now as a glorified advert for adidas Football. And instead of Dak Prescott, Manchester United F.C. star Paul Pogba is in the proverbial driver’s seat, with the two hanging out at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium in England.
