2027: Peter Obi remains the best choice - Obidigbo

As political gladiators appear to have started to make move towards the corridor of power mainly targeting the the presidential seat in 2027 general elections, a renowned industrialist and elder statesman Dr Chike Obidigbo has once more declared that the former Governor of Anambra State and 2023 Presidential candidate of Labour Party Mr Peter Obi remains the best choice to occupy the Presidential seat at Aso Rock Villa in 2027.

Speaking on the State of the nation, Dr Obidigbo also the founder and President of a renowned humanitarian group known as Osisioma Foundation argued contentiously that Peter Obi has more things upstairs to turn Nigeria around for the better much more than the sitting President Tinubu and all the politicians in search of opportunity to be President noting that the 2023 Presidential candidate of Labour Party turned Anambra around as Governor for eight years.

According to him, "Peter Obi remains the best choice to be President of this country. I live in Anambra and I know what Peter did as Governor of Anambra State. He turned Anambra around and I am sure he will do the same in Nigeria as President but it is a pity that we have a country where good things are not appreciated. If we are in a country where good things are appreciated Nigerians at large should be beginning Peter Obi to be President because he knows how to solve the problem of this country but the reverse is the case, Peter is struggling with all his power and might to stand for election to be President.

The elder statesman lamented that the chances of Peter Obi emerging the next President of Nigeria in 2027 might still be slim because according to him, Nigeria is structured by the British colony to oppress the Igbo man to live like second class citizens forever and that's why Nnamdi Kanu is agitating for separation of the Igbo race from Nigeria so that Ndigbo can face their destiny in their own way.

He pointed out that Nnamdi Kanu's vision for separation of Igbo race from Nigeria remains the best options for Ndigbo noting that Ndigbo cannot continue to be part of a country where the culture of the people are totally different from each other and where their brilliance, hardworking and gifts are not appreciated.

"It is now clear that the best thing for all of us is to toe the path of Nnamdi Kanu and dissolve Nigeria for all of us to part ways because each region in Nigeria is strong enough to stand on its own as a county,.The Yoruba is strong economically and otherwise to stand on its own as a country, the Igbo region is strong enough to stand on own as a country, so I don't see the reason why we should continue to exist as a country where people do not like themselves and do not appreciated themselves" he maintained

On the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State, he said that time is riped for Ndi Anambra to look beyond Church politics and put Church behind to elect a good candidate who can retrace the foundation laid by Peter Obi to move the State forward. He lamented that Church politics is impacting negatively on the leadership of the State in the sense that belonging to a particular denomination holds upper hand ahead of merrit, capacity, experience and competence are sidelined.

He lamented that the strong foundation for greater Anambra laid by Peter Obi has been disorganized and Peter's legacies almost forgotten because successive Governors who where chosen based on Church membership.abandoned Peter's foundation for greater Anambra and focused on building Conference Center, Government Lodge and amusement park.

"All over the world including the United Kingdom and United States the choice of leaders is based on merrit, capacity experience and competence but here in Anambra is based on Church membership, if you are a member of a particular denomination you cannot be Governor. That's nonsense mentality on our side and I hope Ndi Anambra should get rid off such archaic mentality and chose a good candidate to be Governor based on merrit capacity experience and competence not Church membership" he added.

1. Peter Obi will not loot our national treasury nor allow anyone serving in his government to do so.

2. Peter Obi will not live a flamboyant lifestyle to the detriment of national purse

3. Peter Obi will not take his children along while on official assignment for the purpose of collecting estacode.

4. Peter Obi that I know will not buy a jet of N150bn while Nigerians are hungry.

5. My own leader, Okwute of Africa will not appoint corrupt individuals into key positions.

6. Peter Obi wil not take delight in medical tourism abroad.

7. PO will not legitimise corruption by awarding contract to a company that has his family members are directors.

8. This man here will not feel relaxed abroad while Nigerians are being killed like animals.

9. I can bet my life that Peter Obi will not suffer inferiority complex in the midst of notable World leaders.

10. Peter Obi that I know will not depend on borrowing money on monthly basis for frivolities.

11. Under Peter Gregory Onwubuasi Obi, rule of law and human rights will be respected.

12. Under Peter Gregory OBI there will be influx of foreign investors into Nigeria

13. National grid will be decentralized and more viable to drive economy into prosperity

14. Insecurity will be a thing of the past and armed forces will be motivated with living wage.

15. Under Peter Gregory OBI Nigeria will be a lender rather than a borrower

16. Under his government, elections results will count and the wish of the masses will be respected to the fullest by INEC.

17. Nepotism shall be given mass burial and will not be tolerated as national heritage.

18. Federal character syndrome shall receive it's honorary position as enacted in the Constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

19. NIGERIA will become the food basket of the World

20. Our Gross Domestic Product will soar and foreign reserve rejuvenated

21. Human capacity building & development will take a center stage and round pegs will be fitted in round holes.

22. Under his watch corruption shall attract capital punishment

23. Under his watch budget padding shall attract life imprisonment

24. Under his watch Nigeria will be a dream Land of all Nations. Etc Etc !

Two individuals sustained serious injuries on Thursday when a training aircraft crash-landed at the Ilorin International Airport in Kwara State, News360 Nigeria reports.

The Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance at the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), Mrs Bimbo Oladeji, confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to her, the aircraft crash occurred at about 5:28pm local time on May 23, 2025, during a simulated instrument approach exercise on Runway 05 of the airport.

She explained that the aircraft veered off the runway before coming to a stop on the grass verge, leaving both occupants of the aircraft seriously injured.

“Both sustained serious injuries and were swiftly evacuated to a medical facility, coordinated by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA),” Oladeji stated.

Following the incident, the NSIB announced that its Go-Team was preparing to depart Abuja for Ilorin to commence an on-site investigation.

The team is expected to secure the crash site, gather physical evidence, speak with eyewitnesses, and recover operational data to determine the root cause and contributing factors.

The Director General of the NSIB, Captain Alex Badeh Jr., expressed sympathy for the victims, praising the emergency teams for their quick response.

He noted that uncovering the cause of the accident would help improve safety in the country’s aviation sector.

“Our thoughts are with the injured, and we commend the swift medical and emergency response.

Now, our focus is on understanding exactly what went wrong. Every investigation is an opportunity to improve safety.

We are deploying our team to Ilorin to ensure that no detail is overlooked,” he said.
