Wisdomkosi:
Minister of Arts and Culture, Mrs Hannatu Musawa Resign Now!!!

By Wisdom Nwedene

Many Nigerians were not familiar with Mrs Hannatu Musawa until she was nominated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mrs Musawa who hails from Katsina State could not control her emotions broke down in tears when appeared before the Senate for screening.

Before her appointment as Minister of Arts and Culture, Mrs Musawa, a Nigerian lawyer served as
the presidential adviser on culture and entertainment economy.

In fact, she was the ninth nominee screened by the Senate.

When she was asked to introduce herself and summarise her resume by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Ms Musawa began to speak about her family background and her upbringing but, at some point, betrayed her emotion and started shedding tears.

Ms Musawa said she came from a poor family struggling to survive but that her father, Musa Musawa, a politician, ensured she got the desired Western education.

She said her father traded in Kolanut to sponsor her education before he died.

“I come from a family that struggles to make ends meet. My father sells ‘goro’ (Kolanut) to send me to school,” she said.

Why Embattled Minister Of Arts And Culture, Mrs Hannatu Musawa Must Resign

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the Minister of Arts and Culture, Mrs Hannatu Musawa, is currently doing her one-year youth service and therefore, occupying the ministerial position is in breach of the NYSC Act.

This is against the NYSC Act which states that Corps Members are not allowed to pick up any government appointment until the one-year service was over.

While the NYSC Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa has said the scheme would take the necessary action on the matter, it will be in the best interest for Mrs Musawa to resign honourably and continue with the compulsory one year service.

It could be recalled that Mrs Musawa was originally mobilised in 2001 for the youth service to Ebonyi State where she had her orientation programme but later relocated to Kaduna State to continue the programme.

According to information on public domain, when Mrs Musawa got to Kaduna, she absconded and didn’t complete the programme.

In a country where rule of law is working, she would have resigned by now or be sacked.

It’s crystal clear that Mrs Musawa doesn’t respect the NYSC institution otherwise why abandoning the one year mandatory National Service.

She did it in 2001 and she is repeating it again. A woman who has no regards for Nigeria laws shouldn’t be appointed a minister.

In fact, by virtue of Section 2 of the NYSC Act says every citizen who graduated from any tertiary institution in and outside Nigeria and was not 30 years old shall be mobilised for the one-year compulsory national youth service, while any person above 30 was not eligible to participate in the service.”

Her appointment shows the inconsistency in our policies and disregard for our laws and she must resign now.

Suffering is not suffering my brother. You cannot compare someone that his eating pattern is 1,0,1 and another person that his eating pattern is 0,1,0. Suffering get grades. Like me, I am suffering but my suffering can eat successfully a three square meal without hassle. If you're comparing the suffering of 2003 with the suffering of now, then, you're a kid at that period.
if you are suffering those not translates everyone is suffering . That 2003 may be worst year for some people in their life, and 2023 may be happiest year to some people too. That is life

Igala tribe from Kogi east senatorial district has spent 16 years in government, yahaya bello from Ebira land has spent 8 years too making 24 years since 1999. Since 1999, Okun tribe has never produce a sitting governor and this is highly unfair here. It’s the turn of Okun tribe to produce the Governor of Kogi State and Okun tribe belong to Kogi west west senatorial district. Senator Dino Melaye is from Kogi west senatorial district and he’s the best governorship candidate so far in Kogi State ahead of the November 11th governorship poll. On November 11th governorship poll, the good people of Kogi State will come out enmass and cast their votes for indefatigable Senator Dino Melaye of Pdp. November 11th governorship poll must Obey

With indefatigable Senator Dino Melaye from Kogi west senatorial district coming on board to form government in Kogi State come November 11th governorship poll. Since 1999, Kogi west senatorial district have not produce any governor of Kogi State and this is very bad and not fair in Kogi State politics. Everything should be shared equally here. Senator Dino Melaye is the best governorship candidate to beat in the November 11th governorship poll

I thought the prayers of sane persons is for today to be better than yesterday and tomorrow to be better than today. Even as at 2003 that that news came out, life was more bearable than what it is today. That was the season that teachers both at the primary level to tertiary level truly know they are teachers and their rewards wasn't in heaven but began from earth.
Thankfully you've accepted that the country is not progressing at all but instead retrogressing. May God deliver his people from the enemies within and without that have held this country to ransom, including their enablers.
2003 or 1900 suffering is suffering, it wasn't today it started

you are out of your mind here, Abdulfatai Ahmed is from Kwara South senatorial district where the Senatorial district has not produced the governor before since 1999. Unlike Yahaya bello case, Kogi Central has produced the governor in which Governor yahaya bello came from, it’s the turn of Kogi west senatorial district to produce the governor of Kogi State. Since 1999, Kogi west senatorial district hasn’t produce the governor of the state in which it’s highly unfair politically. Indefatigable Senator Dino Melaye is the best governorship candidate so far for the Kogi state number 1 seat. Indefatigable Senator Dino Melaye is a goal.

Politics › Re: Abure Not Sacked, Apapa Camp Twisted Appeal Court Judgement - LP by yarimo(m): 12:09am On Aug 25, 2023
Fake news alerts nairalanders
SpartaOfLagos:
The Labour Party (LP) has dismissed claims that its party leadership, led by Julius Abure, has been sacked by the Appeal Court.

Instead, the LP said it was another devastating blow for the Lamidi Apapa-led faction as the Court of Appeal in Owerri dismissed the appeal filed by one Mr Basil Maduka, who it said is contending for the Labour Party governorship candidacy for Imo State.

The LP, therefore, called on members, supporters and the general public to distance themselves from what it described as “falling and compromised members of the party”, who it said have since been shoved out of the party.

The party in a statement issued on Thursday by the LP’s National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, claimed that Apapa’s camp had misinformed the public by twisting the judgement of the appellate court.

DAILY POST reported that there was confusion as the Court of Appeal in Owerri on Thursday reportedly sacked Julius Abure as Labour Party National Chairman.

It was also alleged that the court, in the same judgement, recognised Lamidi Apapa as the National Chairman of the party.

According to the statement, the court held that the appeal was not necessary as the decision of the trial court was in its favour and that mere comments of the trial judge in the matter was not a judgement and, therefore, should be discountenanced.

Ifoh explained that the Labour Party had asked the Court of Appeal to quash the comments of the trial court in the Federal High Court in Owerri and also told the court that Senator Athan Achonu won the party’s primaries.

He further added that “It is, therefore, important to state that neither the Federal High Court Owerri nor the Court of Appeal Owerri, which sat in Abuja today, made any orders in the matter other than for lack of locus standi against the plaintiff (Basil Maduka).”

The party rather insisted that “the status quo remains with Senator Athan Achonu as the validly nominated candidate of Labour Party for 2023 Imo governorship election”.

Explaining further, Ifoh stated that the Court of Appeal judgement and the endorsement of Senator Achonu by its national leader Peter Obi, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, the Labour Party National Chairman Julius Abure and other stakeholders and party members, have settled the gubernatorial ticket issue.
