@Smartgrid, I advice you begin to write books, especially fiction. I truly mean it, you will make good sales cos you seem to be a good writer. cool

Smartgrid:
Greeting fellow hopefuls.
Lol.. I am quite surprised people are still debating on weather the budget has anything to do with releasing the list. The answer is simply no. You see, let me tell you a little thing I know about dpr. Dpr works like DSS, you hardly know their next move. They always take people by surprise. Ask the filling station owners around you, they will tell you that you can't see them coming, you'll only see them in front of your pump! grin

Okay back on the issue, my source told me only about 4-5 people know exactly what's going on about this recruitment. And unless you have access to those 4-5 people, you won't know what exactly is happening. Among them is Mr Mordecai Ladan and Mr Shakur. Sadly my source is not directly to any of them. So along the way to my source, there are some missing dots. But still grateful for the little info we have. At least to calm our nerves.

As I mentioned before, there are some intels I have, but they are unconfirmed. Which I am working on them now to find out. I want to find out without too much bothering my source. And I will share once I got the facts.

Finally, If you could recalled from the fiction story, it's mention Mr. Tata will be travelling out of the village. And yeah, he has left on Monday.

More updates will come when they are ready.

Vista is yet to be stable, but preferably use xp for developmnet and then try running ur software on vista afetr compilation. if it does not work, right click and "run as administrator"
Vista is full of bugs.

Programming / Re: Do You Have A Question On Sql? by yaro248(m): 1:42pm On Jan 16, 2008
@naijamark

you can delete any key associated with the softwrae from your registry, but you must be very careful not to delete some other keys that are not for the software you downloaded.
just use the name of the software as your search text in your registry.
Good luck.

As regards to char/varChar

I will suggest varchar for text because you may not have a specied length of the data you want to store.
I think it's also a good suggestion to use char(1) for gender.

@aisha2: mind u, am not offended, just thought u can contribute to the programming world through your project writing. wink

@Chiaka: i dont have any1 giving me problems, just wondering y some programmers are being selfish to disregard their clients.

Programming / Re: Who Do You Consider When Writing A Program? by yaro248(m): 10:11am On Jul 02, 2007
@my2cents : you got it wink

but that's what alot of programmers here in nija don't think of. Infact it's one of thereasons why i came up with this question. they always try to impose their ideas on their clients irrespective of whether it suits the solution to their problems or not. I believe the end user interface is basically the most important part of your program to the client becos that's what he sees and communicates with. the engine is not his problem.

@aisha2: Hope programs will be embedded in your projects soon. and always get the question before an anwser. lol

@WorldBest: as regards to softwares that can sell in Nija, U have to think of Database applications--meaning software like Accounting software, school or any record management software.

You can select any language u think you'll find friendly. Enjoy!! wink

Programming / Re: Programming: Info by yaro248(m): 9:42pm On Jun 30, 2007
good to know people are willing to go into programming. It's really fun because instead of being just a computer user, u also give the computer commands/instructions to follow.

Dont really have much for you but my advice is for you to be determined and focused,
Always have in mind what you want to do and come up with very good structure.

You always have to be inquisitive about emerging technologies.
And start with one of the recent programming languages available as there are thousands of them out there, but anyone can serve for you to have the whole idea.

you can as well visit the following links I beleive they'll help you through your research

http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/introduction.html
www.codeproject.com
www.programmers-corner.com
www.programmersheaven.com
www.msdn2.microsoft.com

Or just search for programming tools on google

Another option is that Nairalanders are always there for you

Best of luck

@Ikomi: sure u did. but I wonder why some dont seem to consider the users of their software, could it be they are bad programmers or bad Interface designers rather?
Programming / Who Do You Consider When Writing A Program? by yaro248(m): 11:45pm On Jun 26, 2007
Hi fellas,

Who do you consider when writing a programme as regards to interface, yourself or the end user? please back ur answer with reasonable arguments. Enjoy

Software/Programmer Market / Re: Any Programming Or Software Engineering Jobs? by yaro248(m): 11:29pm On Jun 26, 2007
NaijaDude: Doesn't really matter where and how one makes money with programming knowledge, but as a programmer, one just have to think of programs to solve problems (like automation of offices as the case of Nigeria for instance, database applications, and more), being innovative. One also has to be an aggressive marketer of his programs.
Jokes Etc / Re: 30 Advantages Of Being A Woman! by yaro248(m): 10:42pm On Jun 26, 2007
1. We got off the titanic first
this because you r easily gotten tired of

3. Our boyfriend's clothes makes us look gorgeous.
because men are doing a great favour to women

6. We've never lusted after a cartoon character or the central female figure of a computer game
tell that to does who do not know

7. Taxis stop for us
to drop u at where you get paid for, ?

8. Men die earlier, so we get to cash in on the life insurance
life insurance is not eternal

9. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing.
rather look like a baby goat playing

10.Free drinks, free dinners free movies, (you get the point)
I think the point here is that u are suckers

11.We can hug our friends without wondering if We're gay
How can you assure us that the "huggers" are not lesbians?
why dont you just say you are looking for man to hug?

16.If we forget to shave,no one has to know
except those that the above taxis' drop them @

20.If we're dumb, some people will still find it cute
I think this should rather be a disadvantage

22.We have the ability to dress ourselves
why must you do all these to get attracted to men?

26.There are times really when chocolate can solve all our problems
cos your brains are more of a kid's

28.We can fully assess a person just by looking at their shoes
That's how girls start to be suckers

30.We have enough sense to realize that the easiest way to get outof being lost is asking for directions
Have you forgotten 20.?

But an advantage of being a man is that u always get in and no one gets into u, lol
Business / Re: Bad Experiences You've Had With Your Banks? by yaro248(m): 10:17pm On Jun 26, 2007
KUDOS to GTB and Intercontinental Bank, WOE to UBA !!!

I have never seen a bank trying to chase their customers away but UBA. it's really unfortunate banking with UBA.

Imagine a bank charging you some amount for saving less than 5000 naira at the end of every month.

I think the meaning of UBA should be----Unfortunate Bank of Africa rather than United Bank for Africa.

GTB una weldone jare.
Career / Re: NIIT: Are They Worth It? by yaro248(m): 11:22pm On Jun 25, 2007
It's not worth the amount paid. It will be worth going there to alot of people only if they can cut their price down. What is taught at NIIT can be learnt in some places at a cheaper price.
