The Bruno is a good and solid option, the problem is that he usually balloon the ball, he needs to work his accuracy. Maybe Fred slightly edges him defensively? What about creativity?

Fernandes and Eriksen are creative offensively.
And that problem might be why they capitulate early. Man City thrives and causes damage on possession. Though, we can't discount Fernandes due to his through balls and because possession football is tasking on players playing them's bodies, those through balls could be damaging.

He was on fire

I hope they keep it up against Man. City.
If they don't capitulate early as they have been doing in their previous games, they have a fighting chance. If I am Ten Hag, that game will have Fred in place of Fernandes or Eriksen to have a much more robust midfield, the reason the team has been losing those previous games scandalously.

3 points
Clean sheet
De gea, excellent
Casemiro, fantastic
Rashford, pretty decent

We've closed the gap between us and arsenal to 9 points. If we can get a decent striker, who knows might might just happen

I'm sure our main target upfront would be osimhen but we can't sign him this January. I'll suggest we go for Vincent aboubakar on loan. He's an excellent striker and would do better than ighalo did when he joined us
Aboubakar too is also a very good option. Better than Depay being mooted around.

And another win with a convincing scoreline! This Ten Hag guy is a good coach, board should get him Joao Felix or Marcus Thuram in this January transfer window and we might not even be 4th on the table, could even be Top 3.

Did you expect those places to open on Christmas day? Christmas is only once a year; those people deserve to spend it with their loved ones too. Besides, since the UK is only a few hours away from Nigeria, if being with your family is important to you on Christmas, all you had to do was book a flight.
Good advice.

Canada is fine too. It is not as lonely as Europe and during holidays, the friendly Canadians have people's time.

Same folks that relegate their old to care homes? In Nigeria people do not wait for some special occasions to have a family gathering; we up and take the kids to visit uncles, aunts and cousins ...I grew up in a family where visiting family members or being visited by them was the norm. Don't know about yours, mate.
That tradition is fast fading currently because of the situation of the country. In the early to mid 2000s when the economy was the best ever, this was what was in vogue. What was in vogue then brings me a lot of childhood memories, a lot of visits to my paternal grandmother then and some close-knit extended family members.

The Nigerian communities aren’t really as close knit as we claim. Here in the US, a large number of Americans live and work within a few miles of their extended family. Many have annual family get togethers and thanksgiving/Christmas holidays are strictly family time. That isn’t the case with Nigerians. Closeness isn’t what we have, it’s a tendency for chaos, being overly involved in the lives of our neighbors and restlessness.
You got this right! The Americans are more family close-knit than we are even to some extent the Canadians, they value family time too especially during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays (the former most of the times).

Kenn55:
Do you have Nigerian community in your area? Or are you the only Nigerian there?

Do you attend a Nigerian church? Do you relate with fellow Nigerians?

A Nigerian once told me he is lonely and bored in a city that has lot of Nigerians. When I probed him, it turns out that he doesn't want to associate with fellow Nigerians. In his words " I don't have time for Nigerians and their wahala " .

I don't know about where you are anyway but what happens where I am is that the Nigerian community organize parties during this period where Nigerians gather and have fun. I and my family went to a party on Christmas day and I hosted one on boxing day. We have another one on Friday and Saturday hosted by different families.

The last 2 days have been sweet. Lots of food, drinks, dance, games etc. 2 students even recreated the Townhall bala blue dance and got lots of dollars for the performance.

So even in Nigeria, the fun does not come to you. You have to find it and make it happen.

So my advice is know your city, know the Nigerians in your city. If the Nigerians in your city are the dull and individualistic type, you can be that person that bring them together and start forming a community that would start making things happen. Expand to other African countries like Ghana. I will be attending a Ghana organized get together on Sunday. They came to ours and we will go to theirs after all we are all Africans
This is a very nice idea! You can make use of this. If you don't know where the Africans are in the community, as long as your city has a post-secondary institution whether college or university, go there and search out for the African-Carribean Association there, most post-secondary institutions always have this association as their population are usually significant there. Just a heads up

Once I’m settled abroad like after 4-5 years, I’ll always come home for xmas with family and friends. Naija xmas too sweet abeg. Pack enough dollars come. Sleep the highest hotel, Bleep the highest bitch, go the highest club. After celebration come back to my abroad again till next December
Abi. A case of eating your cake and have it. For naija insecurity, take local flight from MMA or Nnamdi Azikiwe to your city's airport and rent a car there or book a rental car service in your city tell them to bring the car to you at the airport for extra fees. Now, that is what is called eating your cake and having it.

If you work online, you can look into the nearby state capitals like Ibadan, Abeokuta etc.
Ibadan has light issues except if he is lucky to get accommodation in areas like Akobo, the cool areas there, where light is reasonably constant.

Move to Uyo but for a better life move further to Eket ( not far from Uyo) and have your lifespan expanded.

This is even a better offer though the girls in an oil town like Eket, one has to be really wary of.

This is a good one. I live in the heart of Uyo three years. Where I reside has steady light since we are on a prepaid network. I use broadband internet as there are companies that render wifi to home services here.
I will say life here is more affordable than Lagos and since you say you work online, you would not have to mind that good office jobs are scarce here.
I am planning on relocating from here abroad though. My major draw back is selling off all my many properties. If you choose Uyo and do not have properties, I wouldn't mind doing a rent and property transfer.
By the way, I am inspired by your post. I am in my early thirties and I sometimes get depressed about where I am at right now. Somehow, knowing that someone older than me is optimistic about life in general gives hope.
You can take up this guy's offer.

Hi

I want to leave Lagos in the new year. I'm tired of the stress, high cost of everything and chaos.
The problem is I can't really make up my mind on where to go, what city is best for me and my business, my life and needs, therefore i opened this thread to seek advice from people who live or have been to these areas i have in mind to relocate to.

My opinions are...

1. Enugu
2. Uyo *(Akwa Ibom)
3. Calabar (Cross Rivers)
4. Port Harcourt

I'm an Igbo guy from Imo state. I work online so can move anywhere as long as i see good light and fast internet.
And something else... I'm kind of a late bloomer in life. Things no enter for me early so I'm still single at 40. But I earn well now, thanks to God, and so I'm seriously searching for a nice lady to settle down with. A city with lots of marriageable single girls around (even semi-educated one who are generally more humble) is high on my priority list.

The city I have in mind as the best fit is Enugu but due to insecurity in the SE I'm open to other opinions.

Please advice me based on your experence.
Osogbo is a very good option. I would have said Ibadan but the light is not too regular here like Osogbo.
