Poems For Review / My Angel by yemupz(m): 10:41am On Feb 02, 2006
The day is born... again,
spreading forth its radiance,
illuminating the world
with beauty and warmth.

Gradually, it grows,
in strength and glory
as the day ages, slowly but steadily

Eventually, mother darkness
envelopes the glory of the day
bringing to nought, another reign.

So, the circle goes,
but something else stays the same...
the thought of you
....My Angel.

Career / Re: How Much is a Good Salary in Nigeria? by yemupz(m): 1:04pm On Jan 31, 2006
i must confess most of u guys aint really facing reality. I read most of the post about 'good salary' in naija and i just can't help laughing. the truth is that there is not single answer as the gap between the well paid and the poorly paid can be really agonising. I have a friend with a B.Sc Microbiology from Unilag that earns 15k a month. I know someone with B.Sc marketing from UNN that earns 20k monthly. I was working almost 13hrs daily for my former boss and he won't pay more than 25k monthly. i had to resign out of annoyance and just 'sit at home' and wait instead of rot away in such a job.
Although, i also have a freind in GTbank that earns 90k (after tax) monthly. You see, the word salary means different things in different industries. Some IT firms pay as low as 20k monthly, i know abt two in Ikeja.
The best paying jobs seems to be oil & Gas, Telecoms (the big ones) and Banks. the worst paying are Pharmaceutical companies, medical labs and esentially most one-man-business.
I can go on and on recounting experiences...

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Job Seekers: What Course Did You Study by yemupz(m): 11:26am On Jan 31, 2006
looks like am da odd one here. I have a B.Sc in Human Anatomy from University of Ilorin, served 2003-2004. Worked as a Client Service Officer for a Preventine Health firm and then as an Admin Secretary for a Pharmaceutical company. But jobless now. I resigned from my last job because i just couldn't cope with my MD's craziness.

See me o. I was searching for online payment processors in nigeria and i saw this nairaland thing. i just couldn't help signing up.
This help to confirm my beleif that despite those faceless sluts that go about scaming everybody and tanishing nigeria's image online, there are still great pple with great ideas in and from nigeria.
Whoever came up with this idea, deserves to marry my mother for free grin abi be ko.

I love being here and i will say it a thousand times.
