I was curious to know what it tastes like or if that was what I was seeing. I used to wonder if mamas drank their own breastmilk...especially mamas who lactate much.

Please o, I have a weird question. Please mamas, can anyone tell me what breastmilk tastes like?
I need answers because, I was messaging my boobies with hot water (mum asked me to do this regularly before baby comes), after which I noticed some white tiny spots on the nips which I felt was breastmilk.

Since I'm gifted with large sized boobies, I kinda pulled my nips into my mouth and sucked on it. (Hubby was not around, and might not even get what I was curious about). I felt some salty taste which I couldn't really place. I did it at another time and felt same taste again.


So I wanted to know, please, does breastmilk have a salty taste? Am I already lactating? I'm just a little above 5 months gone.

Well, my cappo from pregnancy thread has officially directed me to join this moving train as I have offloaded.
Dear mamas, kindly put a FTM through urgently. Put to bed less than 48 hours ago but no breast milk yet. Please help as hospital has refused discharging me till my milk flows.
Remedy please.
Kindly assist as this environment is killing me. Suggestions whether traditional medical etc will be highly welcomed.

I use only water ( no soap) and clean the inside with my index finger when bathing her.

Exclusive breastfeeding doesn't make a baby to reject food. I did exclusive for my 2 kids 6 months without water or anything, but wen i introduced food to baby no 1,he didn't give me any problems at all, infact it was very easy but for baby no 2 ,it was war. A baby dat is wired to eat will eat weda breast or bottle fed.

Ifone wants to start at 4 months that is their decision.

Suzy: for the catarrh, use a saline nasal spray or drops, suck or suction out what you can and use some olbas or eucalyptus oil to ease congestion.

For the food if your babybis above six months keep trying new food so that your baby can experience variety. Read back, tonnes of recipes have been shared.
Just try single flavours one at a time to check there are no allergies.

For water try giving in a cup

Finally be patient and persevere remember your baby is going from sucking liquid off a bottle to feeding on semi solid off a spoon. It takes a while to master.
