court always gives it to the wife cos it's hers, in cases where the man decides to act up. Was it given to the husband or he forcefully collected it? U may have to look for a way to collect it from him or obtain it by force. If not, get a lawyer for advice or u show yr Court pics as evidence.

Tell them simply: you do not believe it is relevant factor that determines how effectively you will do your job.

Jokingly tell them that marital status is hardly a qualification.
Except the job is for marital councelling and even at that the years of experience will still be a determining factor, even at that that does not make one an expert.

It is almost like asking people to add your s exual orientation on a CV... who cares if you are celebate, straight or gay?

I personally do not even put date of birth on my CV anymore. I do not put title of Mrs sef just my full name ( it is unisex, i add middle name as initials and a double barrel surname - that is the only indication that you may think that i may be a married female) . And any other proffesional qualification titles you have.

I know of people who put a small photo( passport type but fine oh) rather than sex. But that i think is not necessary.

Even when it comes to kids, if they ask: yes you are a mother but you do not foresee how being a mother will affect you doing the job as advertised. Turn the question back at them and ask if there are any expectations of the job that have not been provided in the job description that that you should be aware of. Such as your expected contractual working hours, if the job requires regular impromptu travel etc.

If they ask if that will affect the job, be honest. tell them ofcourse you have a young family, that needs to be considered as there is a limit to impromptu events that you can accomodate, tell them you like to be organised and you will like make adequate child care plans as required preferable in advance to meet the demands of the job.

if it is an office based job with regular hours between 8am and 6pm with the odd times that one stays late it should not be a problem. If you are however required to work late consistently then there is a problem, it is either a case of too few staff for the workload or loads of ineffecient staff faffing about and forming activity.

It would be nice we discussed the kind of job a nursing/married lady can do. When I was single, I had alot of interviews lined up at some points but now, no more. Why? Is it cos I added married? Why the discrimination against married women? We no go born again?

There is nothing wrong in what brownsugars said regarding the number of diapers. Within the first 3 months it is completely normal to use up to 12 diapers a day and even more should you be unfortunate to have a tummy bug!

The numbers are for you to manage your expectation there is no rule that says you have to use 12 per day by fire by force and We all know newborns can be notorious at pooing at almost every feed, and can pee indiscreminately too. So you can easily reach that number.

As a parent you will have to balance your pocket with your babies needs. And if 3 disposable diapers a day works for your pocket, then do not moan about diaper rash if it occurs. Otherwise look for alternative diapering solutions. Everything is acceptable from using cloth diapers to even going bumfree at certain times (fresh air is your friend )in a bid to reduce the number of disposable diapers.

The mum who asked the original question has ruled out diaper rash based on her change frequency, granted she said at least 4 times, so she may use more diapers some days. But we can only gather the average is 4.

In my own opinion, 4 may work for her , however Diaper changes of 4 times per day on the average for a 3 week old is not enough to totally exclude diaper rash as the culprit. some babies are more sensitive than others. So i would also suggest mama Obideekah re-visits the number of diaper changes and even check the wipes she is using.

I have laugh tire. My daughter own na missile and it smells terrible, people mistake it for poop. And as she is doing hers and doing my own. But the frequency is reducing gradually. It's normal

D diaper thing got me abeg! Even 10 sef too much even if d pikin dey drink water every 3hrs.. Sometimes I change 3/4times in 24hrs as she eats every 1hr, her bombing is very smooth. I always check diaper to see if wet bf I change. My dear, recession dey my side I no go lie u.

I look at my daughter and all I see is perfection. I feel love run through me whenever I look at her especially when she is smiling and sleeping.
I always wonder what she will look like as an adult. She is the best gift I have ever gotten.
I pray for all looking forward to this opportunity to birth a lil one, you will smile soon enough.

i lost my job after my maternity leave. i resumed on a tuesday and was asked to stop on wednesday
OMG! how did i Feel? it was crazy
i had never stayed at home, i started working even before my graduation. 5 years experience, how was i to do?
all the plans we had made came tumbling down
Hubby was using all his salary for office contribution , we were runnig the house with mine, we had a building project ongoing
it was so unexpected......life was hard... all our savings were in the building project
But God helped us through....honestly sometimes i wonder how we survived these past six months
i think sometimes God allows us to go through these things so that we can learn to be strong
I did not have a choice but to find a way to drastically reduce expenses.
we survived on a bag of beans for almost 6 months.
we baked our bread, did our pap by ourself, we made coconut oil, buns, fishroll, meatpie.
My son kuku rejected cereal and was taking only pap.
i remember the day i cooked four soups without one meat, oh! Father bless my husband. He is a MAN! he ate without a word. we were yabbing ourselves.
i couldnt pay my househelp for months, still she stayed on, endured with us without complaint
I got a managerial job through nairaland this month. i applied on the 1st of june, was called for interview that day, resumed the next day.

i realize now that God was preparing me for something greater, better, bigger! i now see that He wanted me to stay back and watch my son grow, bond with him, He knew i would soon be very busy.
When I was at my lowest, he came through, I had concluded plans with my help that we will make moimoi and she will go and sell in the market for me. The next day i got this job.
please enjoy the time you have while you are with your baby. learn all you can, do all you can.
process your ID cards, Voters Cards, Drivers License, Passport. Visit all those you need to visit.
you are on an extended maternity leave ! USE IT! You will miss your baby so much when you resume.
in my next post i will give my little piece on what i have learnt in my little career journey

@jazzyjazz abt d interview thing, I also went for one when my baby was barely 3months old, it was hurrible as I have never failed an interview bf..It was like the interviews done at Shell. Although am still applying cos I need to practice what I studied.

Lil advice, in case d issue of y u want to leave your baby and work. Tell them u need to put your brain into use and u never like been idle. Let them c u as a hard-working person... Never mention state of d economy. And y u left your former place, tell them it's cos u needed to do something more challenging, that u were no longer learning anything new so u needed job change and also for greener pasture.
