Your visa and admission letter and a proof of where you are staying should be enough to gain entry at the airport.
Yes, the apartment is still available but from November 1st. However, no roommate anymore. Two people can still stay at 500euros per month(all bills inclusive).

Does anyone(A FEMALE PLEASE) need accommodation in Rome? They can move in from mid-october. The place is close to Tiburtina, all bills inclusive - 250euros per month. It's a double bed, so you will have a Nigerian roommate. It's a studio apartment(so personal room, bathroom and kitchen).

If yes, PM me.

Hey everyone,

I decided to put all of the information and steps in a thorough explanation from when you get admission to the last stage in a single resource. Let history record that thread 147 has a link to this information for everyone who will ask in the future. This is my way of giving back to the community smiley

If there's any omission or correction that's needed, feel free to comment and I'd adjust appropriately.

I tried talk to others but it was same story. But is yours still up to 18 months validity period? Cos they said that's the least they can accept for long stay visa.

Surprisingly I have written thrice without response to the consulate on this.

Trying to get a new one already but the problem apart from the exuberant amount is that the new passport's number will be different from the old one which I have used to fill all my forms during admission, pre-enrolment & legalisation. Also the old passport number is also on the yellow card I sweated to get just last week.

Add to that, they said I will need about three weeks to get the new one.

Real headache!

Pele. This is sad though. Mtchew
Mine is up to 18months, I guess that’s why I was allowed.

Surprised my application was turned down at the VFS due to my passport validity; one year (Expires on 3rd August 2019)

They said I need at least 18 months validity period on the passport to be eligible for the the 2 years study visa.

And you don't get passport renewed legally until about six month to the date it expires.

Frustrating and tiring.

Any idea on what to do will be appreciated.. Time running out!

They told me something similar. Although mine expires early 2020 but I insisted I was of course going to renew it when I get to Italy when it’s close to the date of expiry and it was the end of the talk regards that. I think it’s lame they say that knowing fully well you can’t renew unless it’s 6months to the end. Perhaps you want to insist on talking to a director there or something

Regardless, all the best!

Going for submission at vfs and you have renewed your passport.. Please don't forget to go with the old one. Very very necessary

Thank you.

Have you gotten your DOV? If yes, what was the process of obtaining it? I asked this as I assume you're probably applying for a study visa. Thanks

thanks bro, please do you know when legalisation and pre enrollment is closing and the cost for both and do you now the number to call in order to book appointment?

You can't call to book, check this url for email address to book an appointment. https://conslagos.esteri.it/consolato_lagos/it/in_linea_con_utente/appuntamento

Still honour ur appointment. You can always tell them to schedule you for another day having explained the present challenge. It is easier that way.

I agree with this. Make sure you get another appointment before you leave, it's very possible.

I got my health insurance from home and still used it to apply for my permisso di soggiorno per motivo di studio (residence permit for the purpose of study) How about that? smiley As a matter of fact, it saves cost.

Please, which health insurance scheme did you use from Naija?

Hey guys, A friend helped to take my documents to Minister of Education at Abuja and she was told she can't do my authentication unless she bears the same surname with me. Is this really true or is there a way around? Please help

To those that have been wondering why they've been unable to book an appointment at the Italian consulate (be it for legalization, pre enrollment etc) I heard the embassy is having a bit of challenge right now with issuance of Visa. They are trying to clear their backlog- whatever that is.

Those that applied for Visa since January are still on the waiting list. My one fear now is if the embassy will be able to process the student ish this year considering the number of applicants that will over whelm them.

Fingers crossed o.

Wow, this is some seriously serious deep s h i t!

I wish you all the best in your visa application.

1. Apply to universities of your choice.
2. Get admission.
3. Get your NPC birth certificate (if born after December 1992) or birth attestation/declaration of age (if born before December 1992), First or Primary School Leaving Certificate, WAEC or NECO, Degree certificate and Transcripts (if applying for masters) authenticated at the Ministry of Education and Foreign Affairs Abuja.
4. After the authentication, translate your academic and birth documents to Italian language using the embassy approved translator.
5. Book appointment for legalization of documents with the embassy.
6. Legalize your documents at the embassy. Remember to collect your Declaration of Value (DOV) at the stipulated time.
7. Book appointment and do your pre enrollment at the embassy.
8. Book appointment and apply for your visa.

I advice you to concentrate now on applying to universities of your choice. Get the admission and follow the next step above. Best wishes.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences to help the newbies like us.

The only part I've been a bit confused about is authentication at Ministry of and Foreign Affairs Abuja. I'm based in Lagos, does it mean everyone has to go to Abuja for this process or are there other means to do this authentication in Lagos abeg?

Not sure about that department routine. For the course I applied to, the interview was part of the criteria. You can wait another week to get their response. I got my admission same day after the interview.

Tonydon12:

Hello. What duration did it took the school to offer you admission. I just applied yesterday (Mechanical Engineering) and do you think an interview will be required by a professor before granting me admission?

OK. I want to apply for masters in development and international cooperation. did u submit any English test and is there a separate scholarship application?

No, I don't think I did(sorry, can't remember the docs I submitted vividly) but even if, it would be my WAEC certificate.
Yes, there's a separate scholarship after you get a letter of admission.

chaiks:
nope. am considering applying to LA sapienza and any scholarship and also checking the prospect of part time work in Rome and Venice.

Oh nice, please apply as soon as you can if you really want to.

What course? Depending on the course, you might go through a technical interview with a professor from the department before you're granted an admission(that was my own case sha).

Has anyone here ever applied for the LAZIODISU scholarship? What were the procedures involved, please? especially with docs like a declaration released by the Italian Embassy in your country containing your financial situation?

Thanks.
Nope, but the school sent links to different scholarships I'm currently considering applications to. Why did you ask?

Hi everyone,

Enjoyed going through the threads, was worth it as I was able to gather some info. Got admission to study Msc inArtificial Intelligence and Robotics at La Sapienza University.

Only thing I'm currently scared of is the opportunity that avails a postgrad student(e.g Work after study life. I know they give a 6-12months permit unlike the UK). I'd love to work for some time but I'm wondering how the job market for international students looks like over there.

Thanks
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by yettyRoot(f): 3:27pm On Mar 04, 2018
Hi everyone,

I have a 2.9/5.0(2:2) CGPA in computer science and would love to apply for MSc in Computer science or Data science/analytics with 3 years work experience as a software engineer in a reputable company here in Nigeria. I've found some schools with those courses, they didn't explicitly state their entry requirements. Not sure if I stand a chance as I heard masters admission in German is highly competitive. Anyone been in this situation before or know anyone? Is there anything I should that will give me a higher chance considering my low CGPA. Thanks
Travel / Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by yettyRoot(f): 5:47am On Jan 19, 2018
Wow, I think I have tried going from the part 1 to part 4 even though I skipped some threads. Will continue later.

My questions is my university has a student copy transcript that can be given to a student with a signature from the Registrar and the official copy that has to be sent to a school.

Is it safe to post the student copy? And what does it mean? Saw it on uni-assist information: *Submit your certificates as legally attested copies in their original language*

For people who have accessed with ACS, got a question as I've been reading that they cut years of experience. I haven't gotten the logic of cutting experience. I have a BSc in computer science and I have exactly 3 years experience as a software engineer(started the job Jan 2015). Luckily, there's a skilled migration code for that. I would like to believe my 3 years experience should not be cut off. I'd love to know why they cut people's experience off?
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by yettyRoot(f): 8:48pm On Dec 27, 2017
I just got to know ACS doesn't require an English test for their skills assessment. I prefer to take IELTS or TOEFL to increase my points rather than PTE since both can be used outside of Australia. Is there anyone here who has used either TOEFL/IELTS for their visa application?
