After losing my job, to survive, I started working as a laborer on new building sites, and to be candid, the labor work has helped me a lot.
I came here to beg because I have been sick since five days ago and could not go to the site to work. I spent all the money I had on medication.
I do not have any money now, not even airtime on my phone. I am able to access Nairaland through a free website called Freebasics. The website allows people to browse Nairaland and some selected websites for free.

Because there is nothing to dispute, it doesn't change the fact that there is subsidy. You NOT KNOWING how it is being paid does not mean it is not being paid. Eod. |

zomby: You and your people expect things to be do the same, and expect a different outcome. Stop the crying and top the hating... Nigeria will be great again. There is absolutely no doubt about it.
Even if things get better today, the pigs will still cry. Since their loser candidate didn't win the election, their expectation and prayer point is for things in Nigeria to fall apart. But God will never answer the despicable prayers. I can see you can't even reason straight. To people like you it is about politics and not the country. What a shame. Well, your moniker is very apt, it describes exactly what you are. |
Celebrities › Re: Toyin Abraham: Tinubu Promised Prosperity, I Will Never Campaign Again by yewit37486: 12:12pm On Jun 04, 2024 |
zomby: I don't know why all these pigs are constantly crying. President Tinubu has only been the president for a year! Do you expect him to fix a system that has been defective for almost 40yrs in a year? Now I see why certain group of people in the country are called senseless Pigs! If he had simply left things as he met it, the outcry wouldn't be this much. How can you fix a system by further destroying it? How can food inflation be over 200% on several basic items and you expect people to keep quiet? How? You think this is about politics? Continue until the reality one day soon hits you massively. As for Toyin, she is free to support who she wants, it's a free world. But anyone like this OP above thinking people should keep quiet when the country is going south is on a long thing. |
Politics › Re: Petrol: Landing Cost Rises 46.8 Per Cent To ₦1,026.71 — Vanguard by yewit37486: 11:59am On Jun 04, 2024 |
NinjaMetahuman: first off, no. It's not about basic math, if is it's, petrol price will be the same world wide. Price varies based on past deals and infrastructure or distance to move petrol around.
Secondly, only nnpc can tell you the actual landing cost, not newspaper.
3rdly, price of fuel varies nationwide. It's not uniform.
Fourthly, nnpc is not the sole importer of petrol anymore, but people continue to buy from nnpc because they already have the infrastructure and to get decent landing cost which other importers cannot compete with but newspapers keep announcing landing costs for competitions.
Fifthly and the most important; You can't pay subsidy worth billions without putting it in budget for approval of Senate. Not only will that be illegal, billions of naira is not going to come from thin air, it has to come from somewhere? Question is where? None of your points above changes the fact that the landing cost of PMS can never be the same as the current selling price in Nigeria considering the cost of the base product - crude. And obviously petrol cost can never be the same worldwide, because there are different factors including if it's produced locally or imported, if local even the distance to the refinery is a factor, there is FX as well (and we know what is currently going on in Nigeria with FX). You can live in delusion all you want, but it doesn't change the facts unfortunately. There is nothing like decent landing cost, you must pay the product cost and shipping cost + others, and most importantly you are paying in DOLLARS. That alone is a significant impact. |
Politics › Re: Petrol: Landing Cost Rises 46.8 Per Cent To ₦1,026.71 — Vanguard by yewit37486: 11:34am On Jun 04, 2024 |
NinjaMetahuman: I tire o
The person in charge say no subsidy, but they keep believing there is subsidy. Like subsidy is something you can hide or one president can pay from his pocket without budget.
These opposition don't know how to opposition at all and the way they keep moving mad, they will continue to keep apc in power. But this is like basic Maths nau. Brent crude today is about $76, 1 dollar is about N1,450 - we've not even added refining and shipping costs, yet PMS is being sold N568 by NNPC. There is CLEARLY a difference between the two costs and someone somewhere must pay that difference. Let's suspend politics sometimes and apply simple logic. |

And you are right. Some of us don't give a damn about politicians, their supporters, and people like you who seem to be the real casualties. We are focused on ourselves. Do you know what Christ said? Politics › Re: Strike: Entry Points Leading To The Domestic Wing Of Lagos Airport Shut by yewit37486: 9:33am On Jun 03, 2024 |
epainos: Strike is a signal that all is not well. No matter what, strike is not the answer because it causes more harm; however, it is necessary when dealing with a demonic leader.
One thing I know about Tinubu is that he will rather find a way to appease the leaders and keep them at his corner....maybe not forceful like Abacha, but seriously speaking, workers won't get much from this. Those labor leaders are fighting for their own interests.
Businesses will be affected, money will be lost, appointments will be missed, and many inconvenient situations come along with strike.
If you smart, you should start thinking of how to make yourself free from depending on the Nigerian economy. You will start thinking of how to earn dollars instead of Naira. Earning Naira is disastrous. Honestly, I feel for civil servants. They are like helpless goats (you know how stubborn they are, but in the end... they are always helpless) being dragged to the slaughterhouse.
Civil Servants who cannot earn dollars can produce their food to save themselves from this hardship. Go and learn how to garden, and start producing vegetables, tubers, fruits, fish, poultry meat, and eggs. If you like, keep complaining. Take a bold move now. You can do it. Save yourself from the coming unbearable hunger. A word is enough for the wise. Front0lane: I just don't understand why the FG must always fight labour over wages. How can Tinubu in his foolishness remove fuel subsidy, increase electricity tariff, rubbish dollar, increase custom duties but he does not want to pay increased wages ?
I mean what on God Earth is wrong with this man ? Abi because person support APC mean one should lose his or her sense of reasoning ?! After being diehard government defenders, I can see a number of you are now coming to the realisation that they really do not give a hoot about anyone but themselves. |

We need producers , not those that will be lamenting about cost of products, because we have more than enough of those. Oh okay. They should get to work and start raising chickens, they can also get cow and be rearing, then from there add fish inside bucket, it's all free of charge, no cost to buy the chickens or cow or fish, and you know animals don't eat, they just grow automatically and everyone in Nigeria lives in a place where there is plenty land around. So so smart |
