Politics80-year-old ‘mama Biafra’ Sick With Heart Infection In Dss’s Custody – IPOB Lawy by Yibo(op):
80-year-old Mrs Ukamaka Ejezie popularly known as Mama Biafra who is allegedly in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, is currently battling with severe heart infection and breathing difficulty according to a statement issued by IPOB leader’s lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor.

The septuagenarian was reportedly arrested during Kanu’s court appearance in Abuja on May 18, the IPOB boss, Ejezie had been acting as his mother since his parents died in 2020.

Ejiofor, according to the statement on Tuesday said he learnt the new development during his routine visit to Kanu at the DSS headquarters in Abuja on Monday, and called on the international community to prevail on the federal government to release the old woman.

“We were reliably informed during this visit, that Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie, Onyendu’s 80-year old adopted mother, who is still in the captivity of the DSS, is presently down with severe heart infection and could rarely breathe. Hence, we are calling on the World to prevail on the Nigerian Government, to ensure the immediate release of the octogenarian Great grandmother, who committed no offence by merely coming to court in solidarity with her adopted son, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, during his last Court appearance,” the statement reads in parts.

The legal practitioner also disclosed that Kanu also sympathized with the family of his late personal assistant, Samuel Uzo Okoro as his demise has clocked a year. He was devastated by the attacks perpetrated by gunmen on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State where 50 people were murdered in cold blood on Sunday.

The statement further reads: “Onyendu was also in a sober mood and commiserated with the family of my late PA (Biggy), while consoling myself and all the families affected by the heinous attack in my home. He urged me never to despair as ChukwuOkike Abiama is always on the throne.

“Also, Onyendu was totally devastated by the news of the attack on the last Sunday worshippers at a Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state. He condemned this recent and other senseless killings of innocent people and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of all the victims.”

He said the separatist agitator “was deeply impressed with the efforts our youths, particularly UMUCHINEKE, have so far demonstrated in apprehending the criminal gangs reigning havoc on our lands, and he encouraged you all never to relent in your efforts towards defending our territories and total eradication of all forms of crimes and criminalities.”

“The entire South-East should be cleared of hoodlums, and total normalcy restored because we have always been known as a hospitable and peace loving people

“Furthermore, Onyendu warned those strangers still in our bushes kidnapping our people for ransoms, and killing them in the event of non-payment, to stay off our land. Otherwise, our people are charged to resist and frontally confront every criminality being perpetuated in our land. Enough is enough!

“As usual, Onyendu expresses his profound gratitude to you all, UmuChineke for remaining strong in your convictions, unshaken and seemingly resolute.”

PoliticsBuhari Agreed To Support Tinubu For President – Buba Galadima by Yibo(op): 6:31am On Jun 06, 2022
As a former associate of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), do you think the President will impose his candidate or leave it open for all aspirants to contest in the Presidential primary of the APC?

You don’t need to be a prophet or soothsayer to know that the President will indeed anoint whosoever he wants to be the candidate of the APC. But what one needs to look at is whether he could do that with some sense of decorum, with some sense of decency, with some sense of consideration for the opinion of the majority members of his party. My answer is No. Therefore, whoever he anoints will cause bickering, infighting, and a lot of anti-party activities. This will bedevil the APC.

As one of the founding members of the APC, was there any agreement at any time that Tinubu would succeed Buhari?

Not perfectly an agreement, but there was an understanding because Tinubu with one other person and the President also with another person sat down and the information we got was that they agreed that if Tinubu would help Buhari win, he would become the Vice-President. When that was not possible, they called him to ask him to assist because of the exigencies of the time, which wouldn’t have allowed for a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

They said that whatever he does, he should deploy and make sure that Buhari becomes President and that when he (Buhari) is going, he would also do whatever he would in his powers to assist Tinubu to become President. It looks like they are now going back on that understanding. And a promise is a promise whether written or unwritten because if you can subvert it, God knows your heart. And God never accepts betrayal. When you are committed, whether it is sour or bitter, or tasty, you have to swallow it.

Now, it looks like they want to go back on that understanding with Tinubu. This is why Tinubu is bitter and I understand this bitterness, because of what has happened to him, which I told him years back. I told him what was going to happen to him. And everything that I predicted those years is now happening. My prayer for him (Tinubu) is that he should come out of this unscathed and healthy. That is my biggest prayer for him.
But for him, it looks like he has already been subverted. The only way he can get his momentum is if the party agrees to do primaries. If the party agrees to go to the primaries, I have no doubt in my mind that Tinubu may emerge victorious, but as far as the consensus which they want to adopt is concerned, he is out of the game.

Who were those present when Buhari and Tinubu reached this agreement you claimed?

I won’t tell you but the people involved know. Tinubu came to the meeting with a former governor while Buhari came with a sitting governor. That is why that governor is solidly behind Tinubu today and because of the fear of God. But I wouldn’t want to mention the names of the two of them, because, Tinubu himself has alluded to this kind of understanding.

So are you saying that Buhari is the kind of person that does not honour promises?

Well, I don’t know. You should be the judge or ask Tinubu to whom he made the verbal promise.

So you foresee a situation whereby the party can have some crises or can even break if Tinubu is schemed out?

Well, the truth of the matter is that Nigerian politicians are cowards. Nigerian politicians are unprincipled. If they are courageous and principled, the APC would have broken into pieces a long time ago. But because of betrayals, God will never allow the APC to succeed, and even if they succeed, they will never have peace.

Buhari agreed to support Tinubu for President – Buba Galadima
ENIOLA AKINKUOTU and TOPE OMOGBOLAGUN
6 June 2022
Kindly share this story:
buba galadima
Buba Galadima

A signatory to the 2013 merger of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Buba Galadima, tells ENIOLA AKINKUOTU and TOPE OMOGBOLAGUN about the agreements between Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) and former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State.

Well, I don’t know. You should be the judge or ask Tinubu to whom he made the verbal promise.

So what do you think of Tinubu’s outburst in Abeokuta last week and the threat by the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, to punish him?

Well, who is the APC chairman? Where was he when some of us were fighting for Buhari? Where was he? He should remember what he did to us in 2003. Is it because Buhari has forgotten?

If Buhari recollects what the APC national chairman did to him, he would not even ever allow him to shake his hand, let alone make him chairman.

What did the APC chairman do in 2003?

Well, you can ask him (Adamu Abdullahi) that Buba Galadima said that you did something to Buhari in 2003. And that it is abominable to the extent that he (Buhari) shouldn’t even shake hands with you or stay under one roof with you. Let him tell you what he did to Buhari during our campaigns.

But some may argue that in politics, alliances change. What would you say of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo who was Tinubu’s protégé but is now running against his former boss?

So, politics does not connote decency or respect at all? Is that what you are trying to tell me? I am a principled person. I am with Rabiu Kwankwaso, for example now, even if you give me the whole of the Central Bank of Nigeria, that cannot change me. And you can ask Goodluck Jonathan’s people about me. In 2015, they tried to induce Sule Yahaya, who was our director-general; Mustapha Saliu, the man from Kwara State who was Deputy National Chairman of the CPC and me, just for us to make an appearance and endorse the candidacy of Jonathan but we refused to take it.

*Abdulsalam’s ex-deputy vows to obtain new court orders today

*NLC still in court against Abure, says Falana

Plans by former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, to contest next year’s presidential election on the platform of Labour Party (LP) appeared shaky yesterday, as a faction of the party threatened to renew its legal battle this week.

Former Deputy National Chairman of the LP, Calistus Okafor, gave the hint in an interview with THISDAY in Abuja.
Similarly, yesterday, lawyer to Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), Mr. Femi Falana, confirmed that the case, which the unions instituted against the late Abdulkadir Abdulsalam leadership of the party, now under the Julius Abure faction, was still pending in court.

Okafor, who leads a faction of LP, wondered why Obi failed to carry out due diligence before he, allegedly, identified with a faction of the party, which the factional national chairman described as the wrong faction.
Obi left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week and announced his readiness to pursue his presidential aspiration in the LP faction led by Abure.

However, Okafor told THISDAY that Obi decided to defect to LP without proper information on the fact that the party’s leadership had been a subject of litigation since 2018.

Okafor claimed that he remained the authentic national chairman of the party. He explained that he got the post by virtue of his position as Deputy National Chairman of the party when the late national chairman, Abdulsalam, was in office. He added that Abure, who is currently leading a faction of the party, was Acting National Secretary, when Abdulsalam, died in 2020.

Okafor further claimed that Abure announced himself as National Chairman without recourse to the provisions of the party’s constitution, following Abdulsalam’s demise. He said the LP constitution stipulated that the deputy national chairman should act and/or replace the chairman in the event of death or resignation.

Okafor explained, “The decision of Abure to make himself chairman, with the active collaboration of some members, actually led to the current leadership crisis in the LP.
“I, Calistus Okafor, approached the court to get a pronouncement to force Abure out and the case has been pending.

“The matter will come up tomorrow (today) at the Federal High Court. There is no way we would allow an Acting National Secretary to forcefully take over the party and replace the late national chairman against the provisions of the constitution of the party.

“I also want to confirm to you that apart from the suit I instituted against Abure and his team, the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) are also in court, to claim ownership of the party.”

Okafor urged Obi to thread softly, stressing that he LP, under which he intends to realise his aspiration at the moment, is in a deep crisis that may not be resolved before the 2023 presidential election.
He said, “The NLC and the TUC actually registered the Labour Party in 2006, but they were not the ones administering it.

“Peter Obi, at the moment, has been deceived and he is sitting on a keg of gunpowder and it is a pity. He went to wolves in sheep clothing thinking he was discussing with the right people. Staying in the PDP would have been better for him.

“The LP has not done any convention since 2014, after the last one it did in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
“In 2017, after the removal of Abdulsalam as the national chairman, Julius Abure, being the acting national secretary then and myself as the deputy national chairman (South), wrote the Independent National Electoral Commission, to organise a convention for the purpose of electing a new leadership.

“Along the line, Abdulsalam went to the leadership of NLC and TUC, as the people who registered the party, to join him in forcing us out.

“NLC, being smarter than him, demanded a written agreement that he had agreed that the LP actually belonged to the NLC and TUC. He accepted the offer and signed the agreement.”

Okafor further said, “The NLC then approached the court to authenticate the agreement. The court ruled that the organised labour could not run the party but should work with us being the administrators to organise an all-inclusive convention.
“The inability of the party to organise an inclusive convention made it impossible for former Governor Olusegun Mimiko to contest the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Labour Party.

“It was then that Abure dumped our cause and joined Abdulsalam to organise a National Executive Council congress in Akwanga, Nasarawa State, without carrying other stakeholders along.

“They then notified the INEC that they had elected some people and removed others from the leadership, when they lacked such powers based on the court ruling.

“The crisis lingered until Abdulsalam died and Abure promoted himself to the office of the national chairman, from his position of the acting national secretary.

“Abure is not qualified to hold the position because in hierarchy, we still have two Deputy National Chairmen and six Vice National Chairmen.

“As we speak, I am in court and by Monday (today), I will get an order which I will post on the walls of the LP secretariat and gates.

“Peter Obi should know that there is no way for him in the LP and that even if I, Callistus Okafor, did not go to court and he wins, the structure that produced him would be challenged.

“I expected him to investigate properly before joining LP instead of allowing himself to be messed up by hungry wolves.”
Several attempts to get the reactions of the NLC leadership and Abure through phone calls and text messages were not successful at the time of writing this report.
Meanwhile, Falana confirmed that the case, which the labour unions instituted against the Abdulsalam leadership, now under Abure, was still pending in Court.

Falana said, “The case is still pending in court. The case we have in court is against the Abdulsalam’s leadership.

“That of Okafor could be their own internal affair. We are the people that went to court against Abdulsalam and while the case was pending, they went to do convention in Benin.
“Meanwhile, the court had ruled that parties must have a unity convention and we were not part of it.”

PoliticsGunmen Kill Police Officer, Attack Anambra Media Organisation by Yibo(op): 11:30am On May 30, 2022
The police officer was killed when the gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in Ogidi, Idemili LGA of Anambra on Sunday.

One police officer was, on Sunday, killed when gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra, Nigeria’s South-east.

The police spokesperson in the state, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident to PREMIUM TIMES Monday morning.

He said the incident happened around 12: 50 p.m.

Mr Ikenga said the police officers engaged the gunmen in a gun duel, which forced them to flee the scene.

“Unfortunately, during the gun duel, one of the police operatives was fatally wounded,” he said.

The police spokesperson said the command had intensified patrol in the area to track down the suspects.

In a video clip of the incident, shared on various social media, and seen by PREMIUM TIMES, the slain police officer was lying in the middle of the road in a pool of his blood.

But, the residents, who had gathered to have a glance at the victim, scampered for safety when the gunmen appeared to have returned to the scene. Sporadic gunshots were heard from the background.

In a related development, gunmen also attacked the Onitsha branch of the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS).

ABS is a media firm owned by the state government.

An official of the ABS, who asked not to be named, confirmed the attack to this newspaper.

He said the gunmen attacked the facility in the early hours of Monday.

The official said no life was not lost, but the gunmen razed the company’s car and another vehicle parked in the facility belonging to another official of the company who worked overnight.

The official, whose vehicle was razed during the attack, was also brutalised by the terror group.

Increasing attacks

Security in Nigeria’s South-east has deteriorated in recent times with attacks by armed persons reported almost on a daily basis across the region.

Anambra State has witnessed some of the worst attacks in the region. The attacks often target security agencies, government officials and facilities.

Mr Soludo, recently, visited Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in detention.

Mr Soludo said the visit to the IPOB leader was part of his “wider consultations with critical stakeholders” to ensure lasting peace and security in the South-east

During his inauguration as the state governor, Mr Soludo had called for dialogue with the IPOB group and other gunmen behind insecurity in the state and region.

The governor, thereafter, announced an amnesty programme for the gunmen and declared an end to the sit-at-home order in the state.

But residents have continued to obey the Monday sit-at-home order in the state and across the region, mostly out of fear.

The attacks by the gunmen increased in the state shortly after Mr Soludo’s inauguration and announcement of an end to the sit-at-home order in the state.

The latest attack comes five days after Mr Soludo declared a 12-hour curfew on the operation of vehicles in eight local government areas of the state where the attacks have been prevalent, among other security measures.

Anambra State has witnessed some of the worst attacks in the region, despite Governor Charles Soludo’s effort to placate members of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), including a visit to the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in detention.

The separatist group is leading agitation for an independent state of Biafra to be carved out from the South-east and some parts of the South-south Nigeria.

The leader of the secessionist group, Mr Kanu, is currently being detained in Abuja where he is facing trial for treason.

Mr Kanu appeared in court on May 18, in continuation of his trial. He is billed to appear in court again on June 26.

The Unity Begging Ab0ki OP has mischievously changed the subject to suit his unity begging narrative...

That's to tell you if they can be second most populous (only second to indigenes) in a place like that, then you should imagine their population in places without insurgency. Go to various local government in Borno like Ngala, Dikwa, Damboa, Konduga, Nganzai, Bama, Damasak, Monguno, Gwoza, Biu, Askira/Uba, Hawul, Chibok, etc you will still see huge number of igbos doing business there against all obvious odds. And your small brain still tell you that Igbos are minorities. What ignorants like you don't know or pretend not to know for selfish reasons, is the fact that Igbos are explorers and always explore new place and settle there for business.
why do ibo want beerfraud again since you litter everywhere
