Politics › Bayelsa: Ex-Labour Party Guber Candidate, Udengs Eradiri Defects To APC by Yibo(op): 9:42pm On Feb 04, 2025 |
…Tinubu behind all projects in my community, peace in Niger Delta – EradiriThe immediate past governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Bayelsa State, Udengs Eradiri, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), attributing his decision to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development in his Agudiama/Ekpetiama community, Yenagoa Local Government Area.
Eradiri, who registered with the APC in Ward 10, Constituency 2, Yenagoa, highlighted projects initiated by the Tinubu administration through the Dr. Samuel Ogbuku-led Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), including potable water, shore protection, solar streetlights, and a one-kilometer road.
He noted that these interventions were not limited to his community but had also benefited many others in the Niger Delta, citing the region’s improved infrastructure and peace due to efforts by the NDDC and Tantita Security Services.
Additionally, Eradiri praised the federal government’s ongoing projects, including plans to remodel the local secondary school and build a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge.
He also commended Tinubu for signing the Maritime University Bill into law and approving the University of Technology and Environment in Ogoni, which he believes will further stabilize the region.
The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youths and later Environment lauded the Tinubu administration for appointing Bayelsa indigenes to key positions, such as the Head of Service, the Minister of State for Petroleum, and the Managing Director of the NDDC.
He also praised the government’s efforts to boost oil production and the accelerated construction of the East-West Road under Minister of Works, Dr. Dave Umahi.
He said with all the contributions of the President in his community and the Niger Delta through Tantita, the NDDC and the Ministry of Petroleum, it was only reasonable for him to join Tinubu and work with him in the APC to ensure the success of his Renewed Hope Agenda.
He insisted that President Tinubu meant well for the Niger Delta and the country and called on his teeming supporters and all stakeholders in the region to work with the President.
Udengs commended all APC faithful in Bayelsa for warmly receiving him in the party and vowed to work with all the party stakeholders to reposition the APC in the state and the country.
He said: “In my community we have water project done by the APC government: shore protection being done by the APC government, solar light and one kilometre road. The APC government has also promised to carry out other projects like corners’ lodge and renovation of our secondary school.
“The best thing to do to thank such leadership is to join them and work for the success of the party. For me President Tinubu is one man I have admired since I was young and this will provide me the opportunity to learn from him and work with him to ensure that he succeeds.
“In 2006 when we attended the PRONACO meetings in Lagos he was one man who believed in a restructured Nigeria. I supported the PRONACO Movement and partook in it. I think that this is the best time to work with him. The Tinubu government gave us Head of Service, Ministry of Petroleum and the NDDC. His government has ensured the light up of the Niger Delta which has reduced crime to its barest minimum.
“Tinubu government is behind the Tantita project that has seen many young people in the Niger engaged because of the pipeline surveillance that has ensured the growth in the production of oil and reduction of crime in the Niger Delta. There is no other way to say thank you than to join the government that is doing well.
“The government is talking about tax reforms that will go a long way to bring about seriousness in governance and curb laziness. It will bring innovation and creativity as states and local government will begin to work harder and such will provide jobs for young people and engender growth and development.
“I see that the government has a lot to offer Nigeria and I won’t be an onlooker. I want to participate and contribute to it. I want to be part of those that participated in the revival and reorganisation of the country”. https://thenationonlineng.net/just-in-ex-bayelsa-lp-guber-candidate-eradiri-joins-apc/amp/Previous Thread: https://www.nairaland.com/8291489/eradiri-nathus-major-stakeholders-resign#133266844

IGBOPROMISE1: Bros, don't waste your time trying to talk sense to these people! The hatred they have for Ndigbo is embedded in their DNA, and is handed down from parent to child! Don't waste your time talking to a people with ZERO sense of justice and fairness!
What you should understand is that the Yoruba concerned WANT THIS 'SIT-AT-HOME' THING TO CONTINUE TO REMAIN IN PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS.....THEY WANT IT TO REMAIN ON THE FRONT-BURNER SO THE SOUTH-EAST IS AFFECTED AND LOSES ECONOMICALLY, AND THEY HOPE IT WOULD HELP CAST IPOB AND MAZI KANU AS 'VILLIANS' AND TAKE THE STEAM OUT OF THE SECESSIONIST BID! IPOB have reiterated countless number of times that the 'sit-at-home' has been called off, but that one no concern these vile cretins!
The Yoruba man that started this useless thread despises Ndigbo with a strong passion, and the moniker he's using on this thread is just one out of many that he uses for his anti-Igbo campaign! He also hunts for ANY negative news on Ndigbo and rushes to create a thread on it on nairaland! So trying to talk sense to his ilk is no different to flogging a dead horse! Forget them! Besides them hating anything secession, a large part of all this hatred towards Ndigbo is linked to Nigerian and Lagos state politics, and the bigots concerned see the Igbo as a threat to their hegemonic control of Nigeria in general and Lagos in particular.....a threat that should be contained by fair or foul means! we will never tell you to stop killing yourselves |

Islam is not a religion, it's an affliction. @OP, if everything you wrote there is true, we should have seen it happening in the 12 northern states that enacted Sharia law. Islamic Sharia want to reverse all the gains made by Southwest leaders in area of freedom, education and human capital development. Unfortunately, South West leaders may not be able to stem the tide of Islamic threat to their region as all the violent elements in South West are Muslims. 90 percent of Agberos are Muslims. So, the sharia or jihad threats in Yoruba land may well materialize |

Politics › Sit-at-home: Economic Activities In South-east Still At Lowest Ebb On Mondays by Yibo(op): 8:14am On Feb 04, 2025 |
Forty-eight months after the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) introduced a sit-at-home order every Monday across the states in the South-east to pressure the Nigerian government to release its leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, economic activities in the zone are still at its lowest ebb on Mondays as people are afraid of getting on the streets.
Prompt News reports that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is standing trial for an alleged terrorism at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
This is even as the past and present governors of Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Abia, and Ebonyi states have used different persuasive and coercive methods to make the people defy the IPOB sit-at-home order to no avail.
Prompt News reports that despite the assurances of their safety at work places and business premises on Mondays, most government and public offices have either remained under lock and keys or offered skeletal services on Mondays in the South-east states.
Investigations revealed that aside from civil servants who, out of sanctions, go to state government offices on Mondays, folks in the villages and hermlets strictly observe the sit-at-home order as they do not venture out of their compounds for fear of the Unknown Gunmen (UGM) who strike without notice.
Although the embattled Kanu has denounced the sit-at-home order due to its crippling effects on the economic activities in the South-east and the senseless bloodletting that has characterised the exercise linked to the renegade IPOB self-appointed Prime Minister Simon Ekpa, the people of the zone have continued to stay at home on Mondays despite its suspension as announced by Kanu.
However, many residents of the five South-east states of Enugu, Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, and Anambra, have been observing the Monday sit-at-home order, mostly out of fear.
Also, social activities in the South-east states are disrupted on Mondays as inter and intra-city public transportation are not readily available for commuters who are willing to travel from one point to the other.
Background: IPOB, in August 2021, introduced a sit-at-home order every Monday across the South-east to pressure the Nigerian government to release Mr Kanu, who is standing trial for alleged terrorism at the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The group later suspended the order, in preference for it to be implemented only on days Mr Kanu appears in court.
But a pro-Biafran agitator, Simon Ekpa, who leads Autopilot, a faction of IPOB, has continued to declare the sit-at-home in the region despite being suspended by the IPOB faction led by Kanu.
Following public outcry, the IPOB leader in late July, 2023 via a handwritten letter given to Aloy Ejimakor, his Special Counsel, ordered Ekpa to stop issuing sit-at-home orders in the region.
But Ekpa described the letter as “fake,” and maintained that the civil action would go on until Kanu speaks to him directly in Finland, a North European country, where he (Ekpa) resides. He has since been detained by the authorities in Finland, yet sit-at-home order is still effective in the South-east. https://promptnewsonline.com/sit-at-home-economic-activities-in-south-east-still-at-lowest-ebb-on-mondays/
