PropertiesBuy Appliances In The States Or Nigeria? by Yink99(op): 7:11pm On Jan 02, 2008
Thank you nairaland community for all your help. It has been quite helpful with the response i've been getting.
Another question i have is: Is there a place in Lagos i can buy very nice appliances? I cant decide if i should ship new appliances from the States to Nigeria in my container or buy them in nigeria? There are some i like here, that i'm not sure if i'll find the same in Nigeria. And how is the cost of the appliances such as flat top stove, large capacity washer/dryer, and large fridge.

Thank you again

AutosTrue Or False? To Ship Car To Nigeria, Title Must Show Your Name. by Yink99(op): 10:04pm On Dec 31, 2007
To ship my car i just bought to lagos, i thought i had to pay a hefty price to put the vehicle in my name (800.00) and then have it shipped under my name. The title currently is in seller's name. But i bought it and i hold the title.
But i was just told it's not true. Just as long as there is no lein on it, and it's not stolen. Doesn't matter whose name is on it, i can ship it. When it gets to lagos, i can then put it in my name.
Customs is only concerned if the car is stolen or has a lein on it. If this is true, i can save 800.00.
Please let me know if it's true.

PropertiesNeed Good Carpet Installer by Yink99(op): 7:56am On Dec 19, 2007
I bought a new carpet in America and i'm shipping it to Nigeria. Does anyone know anyone that lays carpet well in Nigeria? I am told in order to have a floor carpeted without eventually the carpet buckling and folding up due to the humidity, the carpet must be "pulled" with some instrument as it's being layed on the floor. Do you know anyone that can lay carpet in 4 rooms? I want to use foam under the carpet. If i cant find someone that can lay the carpet well, i'll be forced to lay the carpet without foam to insure the carpet not buckling, folding up, or moving from place.

Thanks

PropertiesRe: Renting In Ilorin by Yink99(op): 9:30am On Aug 11, 2007
You are misunderstanding me. An American friend is wanting to visit Ilorin and wants to rent an apartment or house. I personally dont have a rental property in Ilorin. So again I ask, do you know of a nice and safe area in Ilorin that an American can rent?

Thanks

I hear that bag of cement was 700 naira few years ago. But now it's about 1700 naira. Does anyone know when or if the price will come back down soon? Now that we have a new administration.
