Webmasters / Re: What Is Search Engine Marketing (sem)? by yinkus45(m): 5:51am On May 28, 2010
Brief comparison of SEO & SEM:

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Pros – less expensive and searchers click on organic search results more often than PPC
Cons – Can be time consuming and takes longer to see results

SEM (Search Engine Marketing)
Pros - Excellent at creating awareness quickly and campaigns can be budgeted to fit a business needs.
Cons – Expensive, must be managed constantly and ROI can be difficult to manage

If you’re running an online business, you should consider both for driving traffic to your site.
Politics / Re: Cocaine Smuggling Politician Arrested by yinkus45(m): 9:02pm On May 19, 2010
Well,  this provides insight to the quality of people entering politics in this country.  Get into power at all cost and loot the treasury.

"politics of the belly" syndrome
Autos / Re: Making The Auto Section Safe For Buyers. by yinkus45(m): 6:10pm On May 06, 2010
Definitely, providing identification documents & bank account information to Nairaland’s administrator is a good step; but this may not deter potential for abuse or fraud.

Remember, Nairaland is only a forum that helps bring potential buyers and sellers together. The onus of deterring potential fraud and guaranteeing customer satisfaction should be on dealers themselves. So, I believe Self regulation amongst dealers is the starting point.

This is one approach to self regulation:

Key individuals (up to 30) identified as dealers/brokers on this forum should come together and agree on business rules and criteria for doing business on Nairaland. Other dealers and new dealers, who wish to be “Verified”, must agree to these rules. The purpose is not to bar any dealer from doing business, but the rules can help buyers feel more confident transacting with “Nairaland auto experts”

Once rules are agreed upon, get Nairaland’s input and approval. There should be periodic reviews of rules to allow for changing landscape. Yes, some issues may arise in execution, but if people are committed to any idea or concept they’ll find a way to make it work.

Brilliant idea! No doubt this will create a level of confidence amongst buyers
How do we overcome some of the issues mentioned?

Let's come up with ways to take this to the next level

I'll share some ideas on how this may work.
TV/Movies / Re: Some More Ways To Know You Are Watching A Nigerian Film by yinkus45(m): 11:42pm On Mar 08, 2010
I'm luving this post! Lots of the comments are very funny and so true
ok here are more:

it's a nolywood film when
- Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva are the rich, middle aged couple
with their "hey I can speak like the british man" accent
- The advert commands you to "grab your copy today" and it's
marketed and distributed by an Igbo man, located at Namdi Azikwe rd
or some place in Aba
- shows a plane preparing to land or takeoff from Nigeria. Then
you know the main charcter will be connected to Uk, US and
sometimes Canada. How come they are not coming from India,
Australia, New Zealand? Oh yes, Dubai & South Africa do get
mentioned
Nairaland / General / The Ipad:hit Or Miss by yinkus45(m): 7:51pm On Feb 13, 2010
The iPod changed the way we listened to music; the iPhone was pure genius & the ipad? Well, Apple believes this will be the ultimate game changer. Looks cool, well designed, people are gushing over it, but I'm not sure if this will be a hit like it's cousins (iPod & iPhone)

What do you think folks?

Romance / Re: How To Maintain And Control A Woman by yinkus45(m): 12:33am On Feb 13, 2010
Hey dude it's not about control. Confidence & love that's what
women respect. all that bad boy swagger, shows you are insecure
and lack self belief in your ability

trust me dude, you can never control women, especially
smart & intelligent ladies

you need to figure out who you are: control freak or the
confident, smart guy who is able to have lasting relationship
with women
