ogbongenet: Quail Farming,quick Cash:

Quail farming is an uncommon farming business in Nigeria, but the few people that have embraced it are not only smiling to banks, they are also enjoying both the nutritional and health values derived from consuming it
Considering the large number of poultry farmers in Kaduna that have embraced quail farming, it is no doubt one booming farming business that is gradually taking over chicken poultry business in most parts of the north. The high rate of returns and low cost of investment as well rearing them are some of the reasons many farmers are fast resorting to quail farming. In Zaria alone, there are more than 50 farms where quail are reared and sold. The fact that the birds grow and reach maturity stage faster and lay eggs within two months, compared with the six-month maturity period of chickens for whether egg-laying or consumption, attract them to farmers who see the business as a better and more sustainable investment to explore.
From market surveys both in Zaria and Kaduna, a female quail bird sells for N500 while the male goes for between N250 and N300. Its speckled eggs go for between N20 and N25. The bird’s high nutritional and market value encourage many chicken poultry farmers to abandon the business for quail farming. The NEWS gathered that these financial and health benefits, especially the high and quick returns on investment, largely explained farmers’ rush into the business in Jos where it first started, and in Kano, Kaduna and other states in the north where it is booming now. But it is very difficult for people in the southwest who wish to go into quail farming due to the problem of getting quail chicks for starting. Good news the problem has now been solved because you can easily get it now in Ibadan. I started the business just three months ago but glory be to God I earn nothing less than 2000 Naira every day.
BENEFIT OF QUAIL FARMING
It is very easy to maintain
It is not capital intensive compare to poultry farming
High return in a very short time (quail start laying at 45 day old)
It require small space
Quail egg are now recommended in the hospital which makes a good business
Here are some additional benefits you might get from eating quail eggs.:
* acquire a strong immunity system and improve metabolism.
* contain important quantity of calcium easy to assimilate.
* help healing gastritis, ulcer.
* increase hemoglobin level, remove heavy metals, toxins from blood.
* help in the treatment of tuberculosis, asthma,.
* diabetes
* contain ovomucoid protein, used in the production of anti allergic drugs.
* help inhibit cancerous growth.
* help eliminate and remove stones from liver, kidneys and bladder.
* stimulate intellectual activity.
* may accelerate recuperation after blood stroke and help strengthen heart muscle.
* are a powerful stimulant of intimate potency. They nourish the prostrate gland with useful substances, phosphorus, proteins and vitamins and therefore help restore intimate potency.

Business / Re: Does God Like Dangote More Than My Father? by YK28: 12:54pm On Sep 13, 2012
gloriana: My Father Vs Dangote

My father is a man and dangote is a man too. my father has 1 head so does dangote. they both have 24hrs in a day and equal opportunity. my father is a business man like dangote. he had capital for investment and decided to buy his own trailer which he used for business. dangote invested his own capital as well but today my father is still a poor man while dangote is bastardly rich. so what made dangote different from my father? is it that God likes dangote more than my father?

The difference btw your Father and Dangote is the content of their "Head" .Success is not just by hard work but by brain work.Having big capital to start business doesn't make you successful,It is the brain you apply to the capital that determines your success.
Dangote has fort site,is broadminded and also have I CAN DO IT spirit in him,your Father might not have this qualities.

Business / Re: Is N500k Enough To Start Kerosene Supply Business? by YK28: 1:25pm On Sep 08, 2012
stagger: For those that want to supply retailers (PEDDLING).

You need a truck of about 13,800 litre size minimum. If you have the money, you can get a 30,000, 33,000 or 45,000 (rare; only Mobil and NNPC seem to have such trucks). You do not need to buy one. You can lease, but you need to write the lease agreement properly as well as get the truck details (picture, calibration meter, logo, transporter's name, etc) as you will need this for the registration of the truck with DPR as part of the peddler's license requirements.

Register your driver with the PTD (Petroleum Tanker Drivers) sub-branch of NUPENG. Once you have the DPR Peddler's permit, also register with the Kerosene Peddler's Union, get your capital, go to any of the depots where they have products (of course has to be the closest to your supply base) and start your business. The money is made via regularity of supplies (as in targeting lifting maybe three truckloads weekly or more) rather than on maximising profit margin per litre. Get my drift?

For those who want to retail.

You need to get a good location (where the population density is high). What I mean is you are better off selling in a place like Agege with loads of middle and low income earning people who definitely must use kersoene as cooking fuel and other lighting purposes) than siting it in a place like Victoria Island.

Then construct your tanks. You can start with a 5,000 litre capacity (which is where N500,000 can actually suffice, but not for higher quantities). Go to the depot and lift your products. If you want added protection, you can apply for and get a DPR permit.

I forgot to mention that in both scenarios, you need a Tax clearance, Vat certificate and a sponsor (could be a major or independent marketer) for you to get the necessary permits.

This in a nutshell is how it goes. Of course, the process is not as simplified as I have stated it. I just tried to breakdown the process for everyone's understanding.

Please do you still have the manual for the kerosene biz.I wish to have a copy .email- jooks@hotmail.com

Travel / Re: Lets Talk Dubai by YK28: 2:56am On Sep 07, 2012
adamsy07: my blessed nigerians,if you ave to travel out of naija to make a leaving pls forget dubai,i leave here actualy i ave my own company here and am also married here,am talking to you with innermost sincerity if you are a hustler forget here it's killing even for people who ave companies it beging to be a regret you can not ave a company here with less than 150,000 dirams(80,000 dollars) imagine you paying 700 dollars for 1 room and in the case of hustlers you ave to sleep in 20's to be able to afford a room payment,talk of employment you can never get a job i stand qouted someone said his paid 9000 dollars,it's a lie,i leave here and pity my fellow nigerians who even want to go back but they can not cos,you come in with 2 weeks visa which you have to go to iran and change every 2 weeks 600 dollars,when they don't get job how can they go and change their visas so they end up selling their passport to people who wants to go back home.
no doubt it's a nice place to relax and shop but not for a leaving cos u end up waisting your time and life.
am saying all this with sinceririty even we investors are planning to relocate to other places and invest cos as investors also we find out that our money is going every year and we ave to renew our licenses every year and also pay staffs.
one more thing if you are lucky to be employed u get 3 years visa,with 600 dollars,which cannot pay ur house rent so still u leave in atleast 10's cos u ave a job.you can not bring ur family in to visit you cos u ave labourer's residence visa which can be cancelled at anytime ur boss thinks he cannot afford ur salary again which means u ave to be deported home or prepared to leave in the country ilegaly.
with that u are being totaly useless,u can't get another job cos u illegal and u can'T go home cos u have to pay huge fine for staying illegally or be prepared to go to jail for 1 year b4 travelling home and bare in mind you have to buy a ticket for urself after jail terms.
a word is enough for a wise one think twice atleast be an investor or don't come atall.
love u all
SHERRIF.

adamsy07
I agree with you.Dubai is quiet expensive to live in.The bills are high,it is best for short stay, hustlers cannot afford to stay in dubai legally
