PoliticsRe: Peter Obi And His Brother Accused Of Drug Trafficking by Ylink4sure(op): 10:20am On Nov 11, 2022
Mr Uloka Chukwubuikem is alive and well! Have you contacted him to debunk what he wrote? Is he a Yoruba Man? Peter Obi will have to address the issues raised in the letter.

PrinceOfLagos:
Tinubu slaves are naturally foolish

The Peter Obi general acceptance has kick them off balance
PoliticsPeter Obi And His Brother Accused Of Drug Trafficking by Ylink4sure(op):
Uloka Chukwubuikem in an open letter has accused Peter Obi of Drug Trafficking,Extra-Judicial Murder,Money Laundering and Identity-Change in order to escape criminal justice. He alleged that Peter Obi dropped Gregory from his name and adopted Peter and Onwubuas in order to avoid criminal prosecution due to his involvement in drug trafficking alongside his brother(Damian Obi) and bosom friend (Benjamin Ubah).

Excerpt:

"You’ve been implicated in drug cartels numerous times, along with your eternal friend Benjamin Ubah, an ex-convict in the United States of America for drug offenses. Not only him, but your brother, Damian Obi, has been barred from entering the United States for the same drug-related offense. We have other names for those who are your allies and childhood friends. It’s on good record that a certain Gregory Obi was involved in this drug syndicate, which was you, but you quickly dropped the name Gregory from your documents and replaced it with Peter and Onwubuasi to alter your identity till date. Sir, if you are indeed sincere and transparent enough, kindly let the world know the source of your wealth and the over $50 million you have saved in offshore accounts as exposed by the Pandora papers"

He labelled Peter Obi Corrupt and EVIL Man!

The letter in full:

Greetings, Mr. Peter Obi. I am writing you this letter with the utmost sincerity, and I urge you to accept it in good faith and address the issues raised herein. As a passionate Nigerian who is dissatisfied and angry, I have come to address you as one of those who stole our future and, rather than apologizing, you continue to lie, blackmail, and deceive innocent people in order to manipulate the future of the younger generations.

It’s disturbing to hear from you that you are one of those who will solve Nigeria’s problems, when in reality, you are no different from the buccaneers and bandits who have over the years buried us beneath the soil of bad governance, corruption, criminality, pretence and deceit.

It smacks of hypocrisy and delusion to present yourself as a messiah when you’re the devil’s advocate and a ring leader of oppression in our political arrangements.

First, I have taken the time to listen to many of your speeches in forums where you discuss your desire for due process and the rule of law if you are elected President of Nigeria. Because the mind is limited and quick to forget, I should remind you that when you were the Governor of Anambra State eight years ago, you brazenly disregarded the rule of law and committed so many atrocities that if you truly believed in the rule of law, you would have been imprisoned for your crimes.

Let me remind you that, as Governor, you destroyed the Upper Class Hotel at Onitsha, which was owned by an innocent man, whose only offence was not being a member of your political party. He was then falsely accused and arrested for rituals and the possession of human body parts that were planted in his hotel. Sir, you gave orders for his hotel to be demolished in less than 24 hours and for its owner, Chief Bonaventure Mokwe, to be detained and tortured by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) without a Court order or any form of fair hearing. Even when it was clear that Chief Mokwe was innocent, you took away his source of livelihood and inheritance and violated his and his workers’ human rights; to this day, you have not apologised to him and have instead used money to delay the court case he initiated. terrible.

Perhaps I should remind you of your illegal use of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Awkuzu, Anambra State, when you were Governor and gave orders to kill, maim, and use innocent people for human barbecue.

We all remember the Ezu and Omambala River massacres that you ordered when you gave outright orders to shoot at the sight of innocent Igbo youths, which was carried out by your man Friday, CSP James Nwafor; to this day, the memory still hurts the families of the over 500 young people murdered in cold blood without any kind of trials or fair hearings, but man-slaughter because you had the executive seal of office.

Sir, when in 2020 the young people of Nigeria protested for SARS to be banned nationwide and their activities over the years probed, you approached the court to obtain an order restricting the panel set up to investigate offenders with you inclusive, and you ensured that you were not investigated

It was under your watch that SARS became so notorious and turned the Awkuzu station into a depot for human parts transactions with CSP James Nwafor, your special security adviser and accomplice.

Sir, when in 2020 the young people of Nigeria protested for SARS to be banned nationwide and their activities over the years probed, you approached the court to obtain an order restricting the panel set up to investigate offenders with you inclusive, and you ensured that you were not investigated through multiple court orders because you knew your way to the courtroom to procure court orders, which you never did when you ordered for the illegal detention of Bonaventure Mokwe and staffers, nor when you ordered for the massacre of over five hundred Igbo youths and accused them of being Biafra agitators.

As Governor of Anambra State, you prohibited peaceful protests by Biafran separatists and instead designated MASSOB as a criminal gang, ensuring that they never carried out lawful actions in the state.

With all due respect and acknowledgement, you lack the justification to preach the rule of law because you violated many laws while Governor and never submitted to trials. You will not have the audacity to speak about upholding the rule of law in places where the rule of law works because you represent the oppressors.

Sir, I’ve also heard you talk about inclusive governance and transparency if elected president. It has become evident that you enjoy playing with the emotions and sensibilities of the vulnerable and little-informed. How can you promise something you don’t have and something opposite to your trait? Maybe I should remind you again that, as Governor, you rejected local government elections for the eight 8 years you were in power and instead used sole administrators, heads of service, and transition committees as local government chairmen. For the same eight 8 years, sir, you did not give a proper account of how much the local government allocations were and what they were used for.

In the same eight 8 years, you failed to make public the budgets of Anambra State and, till date, there are no records of how much Anambra had in budgets under your administration. It’s hypocrisy to tell us about transparency if you become President when you failed to be transparent as Governor.
On the same topic of transparency, sir, it remains a mystery how you became rich and wealthy in dollars because you have refused to disclose to the public your life trajectory while continuing to avoid answering the question of how you made your money. Your parents, like most of our parents, were common traders in Onitsha, Anambra State, with no other investments aside from the kiosk at Ose Okwodu. But you became a billionaire out of nowhere and have never explained how. Sir, you should not be the one discussing transparency in government or anywhere else.

Sir, I’ve also heard you talk about inclusive governance and transparency if elected president. It has become evident that you enjoy playing with the emotions and sensibilities of the vulnerable and little-informed. How can you promise something you don’t have and something opposite to your trait? Maybe I should remind you again that, as Governor, you rejected local government elections for the eight years you were in power and instead used sole administrators, heads of service, and transition committees as local government chairmen.

You’ve been implicated in drug cartels numerous times, along with your eternal friend Benjamin Ubah, an ex-convict in the United States of America for drug offenses. Sir, if you are indeed sincere and transparent enough, kindly let the world know the source of your wealth and the over $50 million you have saved in offshore accounts as exposed by the Pandora papers.

Sir, it is unfortunate that you have chosen to represent yourself through false claims and identity while representing everything evil, criminal, and bad in leadership and oppression. You recklessly use your gift of poetry and philosophical knowledge to sway the vulnerable and gullible. Obviously, not the kind of leader Nigeria and Nigerians yearn for in 2023.

Sir, you have spoken eloquently about Nigeria’s transition from consumption to production, which you have stated will be your primary task if elected President. Sir, may I also remind you that, according to the records you provided, you have been a major importer of groceries into Nigeria for the past thirty years, which has greatly contributed to the depreciation of the Naira and the fact that Nigeria has remained a consumer country. Sir, if you had any good intentions for Nigeria as you want us to believe in your many talk shows, why didn’t you in the last 30 years bring investors to set-up production companies for groceries, which is your major, just like Aliko Dangote, Innoson, and other business moguls who have been contributing to the nation’s productivity – do in their area of specialty? Sir, you were Governor for eight years and the Chairman of the South East Governors Forum as well. We did not see your reign in either capacity attract much productivity in Anambra State or any of the South East states, but at the same time, you feel very comfortable telling us that you will move Nigeria from consumption to production. It is terrible that, as a Christian, you derive joy in deceit and manipulating the vulnerable.

Sir, it will be interesting to learn how you, the son of a petty trader, became a billionaire in dollars, founded NEXT International, where you are still Chairman, and controlled many shares in Fidelity Bank, propelling you to become its youngest Chairman. Believe me, there are millions of young Nigerians who are intelligent, resourceful, and purpose-driven just like you, and who would love to hear your story and emulate your success. Don’t be the leader who can’t explain to their followers how they became great and hope to raise more great people from their following pool.

It absolutely reeks of hypocrisy that you have been going around talking about how to fix Nigeria, but your track record shows that you are only interested in your own success and not the success of others. Sir, how can you, as a former Governor and Chairman of a bank and a multinational corporation, not have people you mentored following you around? We know people in your cadre who still have those who worked with them while they were governors, but in your case,
none of your commissioners have been heard of or seen in your team or around. Perhaps, after Peter Obi, there will not be another person who represents the values you claim. That is not a good leadership example.

Sir, please allow me to assert here that you are one of the major oppressors of Nigeria’s younger generation, and you continue to steal from us with great gusto. How do you save Nigeria when you symbolize our nation’s bane and impediments? You are a very corrupt, predatory, undemocratic, religiously extreme and fanatical Catholic who preferred and only recommended Catholics for appointed or elective positions as Governor. You’re a maniacal liar who represents everything oppressive.
Sir, you have yet to clear the air on the public story that you offered your man Friday, Mr. Victor Umeh, who was then National Chairman of the APGA but has since reunited with you in the Labour Party, a whopping sum of 600 million naira to disqualify Charles Soludo in 2013 because you dislike him and believe that him being your direct successor will expose the criminality in your administration. Sir, we also have on record how you used public properties to settle your personal friends and families, the chief amongst them being the concession of ANIDS vehicles procured with State Government funds to Benjamin Uba for personal ownership, which he has since renamed Ben-flo. Sir, it’s also on record how you diverted state resources and invested same into NEST International, owned by you, without the approval of the State Assembly or State Executives, and the two hundred and fifty million naira that was recovered from your special aide, Valentine Obienyem, by the Nigerian police en route Lagos State with your official vehicles, and you subsequently denied and abandoned the innocent Anambra taxpayers’ money to the police just to avoid being indicted.

Among the many promises you have made to innocent and vulnerable Nigerians who are emotionally nodding in agreement as a result of Muhammadu Buhari’s disastrous and clownish administration, which has plunged Nigeria, divided us along ethnic lines, and impoverished everyone, is that you will unify the country. Sir, Mondays in the South East have been under lock and key for over two years now, yet as a stakeholder vying for the country’s number one position and coming from the South East, where you served as Governor and Chairman of the South East Governors Forum, you have not been able to offer the best solution to halt the sit-at-home that has severely harmed the economic activities of that part of the country. How will you unite the country if you become President, when you can’t even solve a minor problem in your own backyard?

Sir, once again, you are more evil and fantastically corrupt than most politicians in the country because you have evolved into a warbler who continues to feed on the larder of the poor and vulnerable while devising a way to avoid having boils on your lips.

Sir, once again, you are more evil and fantastically corrupt than most politicians in the country because you have evolved into a warbler who continues to feed on the larder of the poor and vulnerable while devising a way to avoid having boils on your lips.
Sir, if you claim to have any integrity left in you, I would advise you to come out and confess your evil to the young Nigerians you have been deceiving all along, and to withdraw from the Presidential race because you do not deserve to be in the position you currently occupy through deception and blackmail.

While we have organised to ensure that 2023 goes smoothly and that we elect leaders who will serve us and our best interests rather than themselves and their cronies, it is critical that we seek out those who actually live out their beliefs, rather than settling for a predator like you, Sir.

Sir, I challenge you to tell the public the source of your wealth; how you made the billions you own and have saved in offshore accounts; and how you became a top shareholder in Fidelity Bank in your 30’s despite coming from a very poor family background. If you can conveniently explain this; I will be the very first to lead your campaign selflessly, but failure to do so tells a convincing story that you’re not what we seek in 2023 and possibly more corrupt than others.

As I’ve always said, you’ve done your best and lied your way out a lot, but the deception will no longer be tolerated. Come to your senses and take a bow. You are more corrupt and oppressive than people see.

PoliticsPeter Obi’s Alleged Investment In Anambra Govt Is Worth Nothing – Soludo by Ylink4sure(op): 8:42am On Nov 11, 2022
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/11/peter-obis-alleged-investment-in-anambra-govt-worths-nothing-soludo/

Governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has said alleged investment of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, in Anambra state government is worth next to thing.

Soludo made this assertion in an interview with Channels TV’s Politics Today on Thursday.

When asked his perspective on government investing outside the public sector with reference to Obi as former governor in Anambra, Soludo simply said, “I don’t know about the investment.”

“Our interview is about the 2023 budget. I’m not talking about investments of any of my predecessors. By the way the one that you talked about I don’t know about that. I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about whatever investment. With what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is worth next to nothing. So, let’s leave that aside,” he added.

Meanwhile, Soludo said more than 5,000 in the state will get their employment letter in few days.

He said, “We are handing out employment letter to more than 5, 000 teachers to end an era of schools without teachers.

“We are gloing to have 240 plus doctors and consultants to man our general hospitals, so if you look at the five fingers approach of our programmes we designed our budget to keep our eyes on the ball,” Soludo added.

Recall that no fewer than 6,000 out of 31,000 applicants who participated in the online recruitment examination for teachers in Anambra state scaled through.

PoliticsNnamani To Ndigbo: Reflect On Reality Of Tinubu Presidency by Ylink4sure(op): 4:46pm On Nov 10, 2022
Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, PDP, Enugu, has enjoined his Igbo kinsmen to reflect on what he described as the looming reality of an Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress, APC, administration on May 29, 2023.

He said it was not too late for Ndigbo to reflect and X-ray this reality because most, if not all existing permutations, point towards the direction of a Tinubu presidency.

Nnamani, former Enugu State governor, said this in a piece, titled “The Igbo Insularity and it’s Yoruba Wahala,” in Abuja yesterday.

Nnamani said: “How did the Igbo get to this? Who sold this massive Con job? Who are the snake oil salemen? Why the perceived mistrust of the Yoruba?

“We never fought? Our properties never seized? Our businesses thriving in their Homelands? Blossoming intermarriages with multiple offsprings? Common language etymology.”

He further said: “They stayed out of Nigeria/Biafra war until the Benin expedition. Fajuyi died for Ironsi’s sake.

“Bola Tinubu gave his financial life line to Igbo Ben Akabueze. President Obasanjo had highly dependent Igbo mentees including myself. Called me son and seriously shared confidentialities with me. That I will carry with me to the Lord’s vineyard.

“Our properties were returned immediately in the second quarter of 1970 with collected rent and interests.

“The ‘ontogeny’ of our revered kolanut Yoruba. My brothers where is the disconnect? Okpara and our Forebears saw it. The NCNC/ NPC alliance was a colossal failure for South East. Ditto NPN/NPP. History repeats.

“AG/NCNC alliance 1956/57? Was aborted. Could have provided Chief executive to either party. The AG/ NCNC alliance in United Progressive Grand Alliance, Awolowo & Okpara mired in Pre 66 Coup imbroglio.

“The UPN/NPP alliance could have done the same. The threat of Ekwueme Presidency writers claim added Filip to collapse of the 3rd republic.“

He doesn't need SE votes! Twice(2015&2019) Buhari won without SE votes,so Tinubu doesn't need it. Twice Atiku got SE and SS votes(massively) he still lost! SE votes is inconsequential in the scheme of things. Why do you think PDP that has been getting SE votes since 1999 did not find a single Igbo Man worthy of Presidency? Apart from the fact that Igbos gave out freely their votes to PDP since 1999 without any strategic negotiation or preconditions!

That's what we are looking forward to: Peter Obi must contest and all you Obidients folks must vote Obi. I guess you don't realise even PDP has realised that a vote for Obi is a vote for Tinubu and a wanted vote, also a minus for Atiku!
They are starting to beg Peter Obi to step down! I'm sure you've not heard, let me help you, check this out:

https://www.nairaland.com/7419619/dino-melaye-peter-obi-cant

Go through that link,Dino Melaye has admitted that they can't win because of Obi!

Obi must not step down oooo!

So,go vote for him Sir,it's your prerogative

PoliticsPDP Finally Admits Tinubu Will Win Because Of Peter Obi by Ylink4sure(op): 2:22pm On Nov 06, 2022
I have been telling Obidients that we are looking forward to a good performance in the South for Peter Obi as a vote for him is a plus for Tinubu, now PDP has realised this!

Read below what Dino Melaye just admitted:

https://www.nairaland.com/7419619/dino-melaye-peter-obi-cant

Below is a little excerpt:

“By January, it will go down more, because people will realize that it is going to be a wasted vote, people will realize that he (Peter Obi) cannot become president, people will realize that voting for Peter is voting for Tinubu, so that is why I’m having a clarion call on Peter Obi, gentleman, progressive minded, sound, to in the interest of this country for his tomorrow, he should give his today and come back home to support his elder brother and mentor,” he said.

According to Melaye, Obi has no national spread to emerge as President of Nigeria in 2023.

The Atiku campaign spokesperson urged Obi to return to the PDP"

Let me give you a little analysis here;

In 2019,Peter Obi was the VP candidate to Atiku. The bulk of votes that Atiku has been getting since he's been trying to rule Nigeria has been from the south, majorly SE and SS votes plus votes of SE and SS folks in SW, majorly from Lagos.Atiku has always lost in the North,he's lost to both a Southerner (Jonathan) and Northerners (Yaradua, Buhari). He has always relied on southern votes.

Virtually all folks that are called Obidients today voted for PDP (Atiku) in 2019! You can try to confirm this,in fact in 2015,they voted PDP too. Many of them have been voting PDP since 1999!

Peter Obi has taken all that votes from Atiku! Those who would have voted Atiku are now with Peter Obi! Imagine if Peter Obi had not decamped, virtually all the Obidients will be campaigning for Atiku now! So,it's a split vote between Atiku and Obi,as Atiku will still get some marginal votes.

In 2015&2019,SE&SS voted PDP,But Buhari Still won with the votes he got majorly from the SW in fact,Atiku won in southern Nigeria in 2019 but still lost the election. So, Tinubu does not need SE and SS votes just like Buhari but interestingly,he will get more votes from the south than Buhari! He'll win overwhelmingly in the SW unlike Buhari. He'll get more votes in SS than Buhari,so he won't need as many votes in the North like Buhari,so what Atiku will get in the North will not hinder him.

What Peter Obi will get in the South will be a waste as he won't win a single Northern state! Can you tell me one Local Government that Peter Obi will in Kano,Sokoto, Bauchi,Adamawa,Yobe,Katsina,Niger states etc, mention one local Government you think he'll win in all these voter-heavy States!

So,if Peter Obi's combination with Atiku in 2019 cannot defeat APC,so how will they in different parties win the election? Imagine if Atiku and Peter Obi have combined together again? Atiku would have won this time around no doubt. Peter Obi has destroyed Atiku's chances!
And Tinubu is the beneficiary. Even in the North,SE&SS folks living there who would have voted PDP if Obi was with PDP will now vote for LP instead of Atiku!

Peter Obi has absolutely no chance of Winning, none at all! He can't get even get the constitutional 25% votes in 16 states. In SW,Peter Obi will perform well in Lagos! You see Osun,Oyo,Ekiti,Ondo states,he'll not get more than 15%."

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Leads Ahead Of Atiku & Tinubu On Google Trends by Ylink4sure: 2:04pm On Nov 06, 2022

You see Osun,Oyo,Ekiti,Ondo states,he'll not get more than 15%.

AcuraZDX:
We have a population of over 200 million, only 26 million voted in 2019.. that's not even up to 30% of the population. So what's your point?
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Leads Ahead Of Atiku & Tinubu On Google Trends by Ylink4sure: 11:58pm On Nov 05, 2022
Bro,if you had considered that just 36% of Nigerians are online, you would not build castles in the air about all these postulation. implications: If every Nigerian active online votes Peter Obi,he still can't win the election.

Have you guys forgotten your pain and Disapointment when Buhari won in 2019? You are acting exactly the way you did then!

And of course,it's still important for all candidates to engage with these 36% that are online.

AcuraZDX:
But your candidate is campaigning on the same social media.. clown

Of course we know you'd rather vote another Fulani (Atiku) after another Fulani man has spent 8 years than another southerner especially a Yoruba man. Of course we know all your vituperation about Fulani herdsmen etc are just the rants of a confused people. You guys do not stand for anything that's why you fall for anything. Did Peter Obi know 6 months ago he will campaigning under the labour Party! He decamped to a new party a few months to presidential election, that's because he couldn't see far ahead that PDP does not reckon with Igbo People. Because they've been getting Igbo votes for decades without pre-conditions! Very very myopic folks!

No wonder PDP Could not give any Ibo man the opportunity to rule Nigeria in-spite of voting for them since 1999! While within that period a Yoruba man was president for 8 years and another is about spending 8 years, making 16 years out of 22 in and around corridor of power. You folks play politics of attrition. You are non strategic and petty with a high dose of superiority complex!

At this rate,an Ibo man will never rule this country as Nigeria is presently constituted. Continue living in fools paradise about Obi winning the presidency. We will be here to mock you.

Innocentman86:
Every one knows these and is the truth.
Ss/se we vote obi massively and our second choice is atiku.
I personally even prefer a northerner than the two faced yoru bad people.
Moreover atiku has so many friend,Ally, love and political interest in ss/se.

You can go ahead and upload it endorsed. Just be aware that 'IF' your application is approved, you will be asked to bring again your guarantors statement of networth and evidence(Property Title documents photocopy etc), endorsed in court with reference to the Approval date of your application.

Ustec:
How bro?
I am a bit confused here,
How will upload it if it's not endorse,
I don't think my application will be approve if I get it endorse before uploading.
Or how do I go about uploading it without getting endorsed?

Do not get it endorsed at the court yet. You will do this after your loan has been approved and you have been reached by the BOI office at your state of residence.

You will asked to produce hard copies of your documents at that stage and then asked to proceed for the court endorsement with the date of your loan approval noted on it. You are still a long way off.

And the success of your application depends on how well informed you are about the nitty gritty of the application process

About to apply,
The guarantors form is given me issue,
Do I need to take the affidavit form to the magistrate court for signing?
PoliticsFitch Global Has Confirmed Peter Obi Is The Reason Tinubu Will Win by Ylink4sure(op):
We have been saying this for Months that Obi will not only come a distant third in the election but that his participation and his performance in the election is the reason Tinubu is the next president.

All Peter Obi will achieve is doom Atiku's chances by taking the votes that have since 1999 gone to PDP. Ask those that label themselves Obidients who they voted for in 2015 and 2019 ,you will realise they voted for PDP! And despite this Buhari still won! There votes is inconsequential. Fitch reiterated the fact that just 36% of Nigerians are online!

So, Tinubu doesn't need these votes and thankfully the votes will now be split between Atiku and Obi,with Obi being very weak in the North and Atiku weakened in the South by Obi, Tinubu will win with his more 'balanced' performance.A vote for Obi is not only a waste it's actually a vote for Tinubu!

Fitch has also speculated that violence will ensue after the election! I have been echoing this! The Obedient will claim that were rigged out rather than unemotionally reasoning the facts we have been tabling before them.

Read the report below:

Fitch, the global rating company has tipped Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress to win the 2023 election.

The statement said “comments or data are solely derived from Fitch Solutions Country Risk & Industry Research and independent sources”.

“At Fitch Solutions, we believe that recent polls are significantly overstating support for Peter Obi, the Labour Party candidate running in Nigeria’s February 2023 presidential election. Indeed, we maintain our view that the ruling party’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the candidate most likely to win the presidential election as a split opposition vote will favour the All Progressives Congress.

“Surveys showing that Obi is ahead of his opponents Bola Tinubu (All Progressives Congress; APC) and Atiku Abubakar (People’s Democratic Party; PDP) were mostly based on responses gathered online. Since only 36.0% of Nigerians use the Internet (World Bank, 2020), we believe that these results are skewed towards urban, affluent voters who are most likely to support Obi. We also highlight that these polls suggest that a large share of voters remain undecided.

“Even if these surveys were accurate at a national level, Obi’s lack of support in Nigeria’s Muslim-majority North would make it difficult for him to win next year’s election. Indeed, the North is home to the majority of all voters and turnout in this part of the country tends to be relatively high, underscoring the importance of the Northern electorate.

“According to Nigeria's 1999 constitution, a candidate can only be elected if they both receive the majority of overall votes and over 25.0% of votes in at least 24 of the country's 36 states. Given that Obi’s Labour Party has limited infrastructure in the North, he will struggle to meet this second voting requirement.

“Indeed, the Labour Party is not even running candidates for the Senate and House of Representatives in many northern constituencies. Furthermore, the northern electorate historically tends to vote for presidential candidates from their region. With Obi being a Christian from the South (Anambra State), increasing his voter share in the North will prove challenging.”

Fitch added that Peter Obi is unlikely to win the presidential election.

It said, “While we believe Obi is unlikely to win the election, he will probably do well for a third-party candidate. Indeed, a third-party candidate has never reached more than 7.5% of votes in Nigeria. However, due to his frugal reputation and large social media following, we expect Obi to get a higher share of the vote than previous third-party candidates.
“As such, we believe that Obi’s popularity will most likely split the opposition vote, at the expense of the PDP. The PDP’s candidate (Atiku Abubakar) is a Northerner and we believe that the party’s only route to victory is expanding its vote in the South West and North Central states, while retaining large majorities in the South South and South East.

“However, given Obi’s popularity in the south – especially the South South and South East – we believe it is unlikely the main opposition party will be able to gain more votes in these parts of the country.

“Indeed, we maintain our view that the APC’s Tinubu is best placed to win the presidential election. We expect that the party, which has nominated a Muslim-Muslim ticket, will repeat its strong performance in the North. Given that Tinubu is a former governor of Lagos, the party is also likely to improve on its performance in the South West. Furthermore, we expect Tinubu to benefit from incumbency advantages, with the APC having been in power since 2015.

“Protests and social discontent are likely to increase in the aftermath of a Tinubu win. Since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999, there has been an informal agreement that resulted in the presidency alternating between Northern and Southern states as well as between Christians and Muslims.
