LOW commission can bring a beast of a trader out of anybody.

Today, I have placed my bets on the table. I trust my indicators and quality of my purchases. Where did we put our money today: YINN, COIN, TSLA etc. If I don't have time to monitor stock movement too closely, I need only quality stocks in my portfolio.

IN A DULL/BEARISH MARKET WE NEED TO REDUCE OUR BUY/SELL REQUENCY-EXTRACT OF WHAT WE SHARED WITH OUR PRIVATE FORUM MEMBERS

This global market is not easy, attempt to trade frequently when market is dull/bearish is likely to drain our portfolio. So in a time like this we want to focus on the medium timeframe at least and reduce our buy sell frequency. Therefore, we want to buy only strong stocks (strong in terms of trend and price, any stock below $1.00 is out of our consideration and we want dividend paying stocks. So it is as if we are going back to the drawing board, with the above ideas in mind. Look forward to see the above in our stock watchlist.

MARKET LOOKS FULL TODAY - BUT LATER PART IS LOOKING BETTER

Today we bought PLTR as planned.

ENERGY AND BITCOIN SECTORS LOOKING GOOD THIS MORNING
Energy sector is showing some energy to the uptrend. For the likes of Bitcoin stocks, using BTC/USD as our guide, Bitcoin is in a low risk buying zone at the moment.

Secondly, we do not like bear market, however, if the bear has come, there is nothing we can do but to acknowledge it. But, if we are opportuned to have spare cash at a time when the bear is tired in some stocks, then we can buy oversold stocks that are about to turn back to the bullish side. Among the list of stocks we are eyeing is PLTR, talk of any technical parameter that tell us a stock is in reversal zone, PLTR has it. So, we are looking to enter PLTR again, after the CPI report today.

Our indicator is telling us that this PLTR is high probability set up.

BIG MONEY IS TELLING US TO CASH SOME OF OUR PROFITS AHEAD OF THE HIGH IMPACT CPI REPORT

That is what is currently going on. So for tommorrow, expect the bear?

But after the news, we can then start planning what to do.

LET US ALLIGN OURSELF WITH THE BEST SECTORS OF THE MARKET!
One of the rule that protect you from taking a loss home the first day you buy a stock is buying in a sector that is performing.

If there is COVID we should see the effect in health/biotech sectors. But XLV/ LABU is not saying there is COVID. There has always been isolated cases here and there. Biotechs will only be moving high if this COVID is widespread. So we should not be running faster than the market.

Let us note that that there are fund Managers that are Doctors and they monitor biotech firms for their firms. So if fund Managers are neither buying XLV nor LABU, I wonder how one can be bullish on Covid stocks. Let us remember that this is what made somebody to loose a whole $5000 (may be bigger than this, but if you search this forum you will see it). You can search for the post in this forum.

For now good sectors are[b] TECH, ENERGY, CONSUMER STAPLES[/b] and I see Finance also coming up.

COMMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STOCKS

Market was down yesterday and may continue to the downside today on inflation fears. VIX/dollar rising is supporting the retracement, so we want to avoid buying breakouts and stick to only stock at support).

We should only be interested in the best opportunities. If we see no good stock, better to be in cash.

Tech sector still remain best. at this point we cannot ignore China, with most of the stocks in wave 2, while most US stocks are in wave 5, so there is better opportunities in Chinese stocks . We keep our main watchlist as: SOXL, NUGT etc

WHEN WILL I PICK A STOCK ON TECHNICAL GROUNDS OVER FUNDAMENTAL
Today I was in a dilemma as to which one to chose between XPEV and LI.

LI is a stock that has been beating earnings consistently, but expeng seems to be a bigger company and has better technical rating.

Looking at the situation, since it is market that determines which stock is better, so if the market says XPEV is better, technicallly. I chose XPEV, it seems emotional, but obeying the law of trading and my indicators is the best decision. So I bought XPEV, but will continue to monitor both to see if LI Will overtake XPEV in price appreciation.

And how do you thing I will feel about this decision? 8 am happy as I did not allow emotion to affect my decision. Also, China with all the Government support now in place, the Chinese stocks have a higher probability of performing better soonest.

Our indicators are super and we continue to improve on them.

BUY/SELL ON STOP ORDER TYPES
These are used to buy and sell automatically without the traders intervention once entered into the trading platform.

Sell stop: just simple stop order. You are telling the system to sell your stock once it falls below a particular price. This is for profit protection or limit our loss.

Buy stop: you are telling the plaform to buy a stock in the future when it break above a particular price (you as the trader don't need to sit in front of your computer, once the stock is above the stipulated price, the system will buy it for you without you as the trader doing anything) .

The commission rate is 1% to buy and 1% to sell. Looking at the fact that this is platform that has advance order capability (you can buy or sell on stop). The Commission is very very okay,[/b] especially looking at the operating business climate in Nigeria. I have no reason to complain.

Today, I forced myself or is it the fact that I have suffered losses before: I am obeying the rule of the gods of trading ( I think this is the 2nd time I will obey such rules, I decline to trade in front of big report, that is the inflation report tomorrow and also in front of the earnings report for GOTU. MARKET DIRECTION FOR 23 AUG 2023
Global market is looking bullish for stocks and mildly bullish for commodities too. So, today market is likely to end green. Friday is likely to be a scary day, so for buying, if we see a goid stock today, it is good. Friday is likely to be a goid day for selling.

Technology section is still good for hunting profitable opportunities. However, without a good indicator that us customized to the way you reason, navigating this market may be difficult. On our radar : AAOI, GCT etc.


Let us Learn the right way!!! For example, I look at TLRY and although some analyst are saying buy, but looking at our experience I want to avoid such stocks as they can be extremely risky due to lack of fundamentals

Has anybody tried to buy MLPs recently? I bought GEL sometimes ago, when I wanted to sell, drivewealth told me to send an authority to them telling them to place the selling instruction with drivewealth as they cannot trade such stock on their own and true they sold the shares (with my authorisation to sell passed to drivewealth) and credited my wallet. I had same issue with Chaka on BSM, chaka could not sell (but thank God the money is just peanut) and did not even give me any response.

Again just this week, I wanted to buy ET on both Chaka and drivewealth it was not going. Now same message was sent to both Sproutfi and Chaka asking if they can pass the order to drivewealth for execution, Chaka said not possible, and Sproufi said yes, it is possible.
So why are our local Apps so pompous and they are the losers at the end, as I will prefer to deal with a Sproutifi than these our mushroom local APPS (nobody should mention trove or Bamboo, as I know for true that trove is nearly totally useless).

Please whoever, is close to the se APPs should tell them that we re not poor. I saw on YouTube that anybody that can afford to spare $100 for investment is acceptable to most forex platforms. So, why are our local APP treating their Customers with disdain, if you cannot do this business, tell drivewealth and let them pass us to a foreign broker please.

WE SHOULD LEAN TO GO TO CASH OR START PLAYING THE INVERSE ETF
For the 1st time, I am comfortable being in cash. I am looking at the inverse ETFs, QLD may be my preferred candidate.

But main thing is that our trading must improve. There is no need posting any motivational message, let us cut our losses fast (I am giving myself 15 to 20% as cut off point on every trade, each trade is independent, will never look the fact that one big win from a stock will cover losses from another stock(s), every trade is an independent entity ).

Also, we cannot just be targeting earnings play, it is close to gambling (read all trading books and the experts, they cannot be wrong). Longevity will lead to profitability. If you loose all your capital capital before you become a good trader, it is not good enough. Just ask yourself, where are all the people that use to post here before (probably they have lost so much money and have been knocked out of the market).

So, let us preserve our capital, be ready to pay to get good knowledge. If you do not wish to pay to learn a proper system, you will pay with losses to the market.

Not yet buy time. Wait a little. I volunteer to let you know when our indicator says buy.

Today was for dividend hunting. We bought DHT (the set up for PSEC not okay as at trading time earlier today.

MARKET SEEMS TO BE IN A DANGEROUS ZONE (MORE RISK IN THE MARKET)

As market becomes more risky, it is time to load up our defence line. Some BDC stocks, seems to be good when market is bearish. Only caveat is that you only get constant dividends but very little capital appreciation. One I am watching is PSEC

Our AAOI stock did very well. Thanks to our indicators . Indicators give us capacity to take decisions fast and the mathetical basis, should give us rest of mind. I AM FEELING THE PAIN OF ALLOWING MY STOP LOSS TO GO ABOVE 25%
Again the market taught me not to allow my loss to go above 25% as much as possible.

I am in AAOI (be warned I can sell anytime my indicator tells me), again stock gained about 60% in one day recently (only for me to check that for that day my gain showed only 13%), for me it was like I have lost money, how can the market share Pallative of 64% and only 13% came to me (this is like cheating, at least the market is not run by Nigerians where they say they have Paid Pallative to some people, but the people you don't see), I went back and I remembered that for this stock I have allowed my loss to go over 34% some days before this 60 something % gain.

SO, I want to make a pledge to myself that I will start looking at stop loss from 10, 15, 20, and 25% depending on the stock. As posted before, any loss above 70% is as good as impossible to regain back

For bonus and good chart set up: UCTT, GCT are on our radar.

Going further, I may sell TSLA if it goes lower today. Why, our indicators said so, see below:

DESPITE MARKET BEIGN DOWN TODAY I FEEL HAPPY LOOKING AT THE QUALITY OF STOCKS IN MY PORTFOLIO

Let us see if Trove can come with a more attractive commission rate at least make it flat. Looking at turnover on my account, Chaka makes some money from me every month. While Trove gets zero income from me.

Pls explain the difference between the after market hour price and premarket price.

Pre-market trading in stocks occurs from 4 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. EST, and after-hours trading on a day with a normal session takes place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.3 ...

Simply like english- after market price is price after close of the trading day..... after 4pm EST time
after premarket price before opening of the trading day..... from 4am till market opens at 9.30am

We are playing this market with a strategy of full attack but making sure that our defence is not left empty. Today, we jumped back to the ticker AI (that is that AI c3). However, we sold a dividend paying stock (BCS) and we replace it back with QYLD.
