Millerz: I'm Urhobo but we can obviously see that this man isn't entirely condemning the actions of the militants. He is only doing so sentimentally. At the very least He subtly wants the federal government to replicate anything done for the ijaws in other parts of the Delta or risk the up spring of many other terrorist groups.
Whether or not the militants are fighting for their selfish interest is not my business because some of their demands are sensible and no one can deny.
The ND should be the most developed part of this country but it has been largely neglected by the FG. Oil companies that should have their headquarters in the ND have them at Lagos and Abuja, generating more revenue to those states while the communities where the crude is drilled are left devastated and its inhabitants living in penury.
Its quite obvious that negiotiating with the NDA won't stop the agitations, only True Federalism will and that's what every Niger Deltan wants. why wount they locate there headquaters in lagos and abuja, have u checked d level of insecurity. Even 70percent of oil spills are done by miscreants and thats d truth they wount let u know. |

malton: The FG is setting a bad precedence there.
Like Idiovwa rightly pointed out, it will only serve to encourage criminality and instill a kind of, "yeah, that's how to grab them by the balls!" Feeling.
That was a sign of weakness on the part of the government.
A smarter move would have been to allow them carry out a couple more bombings, and then declare a state of emergency as a result. It would have made those nitwits sympathetic-to-their-cause government of theirs sit up. That's if they aren't even the instigators.
The government gave up way too soon. Sad thing is, they did in a cowardly manner while they were so close to achieving results! bros how do u want them to do now? Any harsh move now, u hear people shouting of human right abuse and also it could result in collateral damage. |

Any body who is selling now to re enter on monday are probably high networth people who can convert to dollar today and re enter next week at a bigger value. |

Politics › Re: Brass Liquefied Natural Gas Project Will End Militancy – Bayelsa Elders by yom2(m): 10:09am On Jun 13, 2016 |
Chibuzoc: Elders and traditional rulers of Bayelsa East Senatorial District of Bayelsa State have said that the permanent solution to end sea piracy, kidnapping and new militancy in the region is the take-off of the Brass Liquefied Natural Gas Project (Brass LNG).
The elders, made up of two local government councils of Brass and Nembe, said although the local and state governments have done much in the area of providing employment, initiating security and peace along the waterways and creeks of the state and the region, the delay in the takeoff of the Brass LNG project has left many youths jobless, restive and involved in the renewed violence in the region.
The Concerned Bayelsa Elders, in a statement issued yesterday in Yenagoa and signed by Chief Newton Ayibatare, said though a position paper have been sent to the Chairman of the Brass Local Government, Hon. Bello Bina and the State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, the takeoff of the Brass LNG will employ over 16,000 restive youths and improve revenue to the local councils, state and federal governments.
According to the Elders, “We have watched with keen interest the recent development in the oil and gas sector and the renewed violence along the creeks including militancy in the region. We condemn the series of attacks on pipelines and the people of the state by sea pirates, militabts in Bayelsa state. We commend the state and federal governments for actions taken so far. While we agree that there should be dialogue, the need to engage the youths with gainful employment is critical.”
“In Bayelsa State, the need to speed up the takeoff of the Brass LNG is critical to support any form of dialogue between new militants and the Federal Government. We are aware that the Brass local council chairman, Bello Bina has tried to provide enabling enviroment for security and peace in the host communities. The Federal Government should prevail on Brass LNG to commence work and absorb over 16,000 youths in the council, state and federal governments.”
The people of the area have condemned and called on the members of the renegade militant groups to embrace dialogue and the youths of Bayelsa to desist from sea piracy and kidnapping adding that the practical solution to restiveness in Bayelsa and other Niger Delta states is economic empowerment and engagement and would encourage the Federal Government to ensure the takeoff of the Brass Liquefied Natural Gas Project located in the state

Let's also be objective nobody has license to insult somebody's religion (believe) in any way, freedom of speech does not give somebody write to insult other people believe. Let's look at it from the perspective any normal human being will get upset if you abuse his parents, or mentor or his deity or his prophet. The peaceful co existence in a community is the ability to respect ones belief and culture. Any believer of a certain religion believes that, that religion is the only way to salvation and u have more than 1000 of such. If all of the different religion members start insulting one another, then there would be no peace. I condemned also in strongest words careless people that insult others... am a christian.for me u have spoken well. |

codedguy1: people asking the FG to negotiate with these guys are missing the point.
they are ready to cripple this govt no matter what simply because when you talk of dialogue things like pipeline contracts and amnesty schemes are proposed, this is not what these guys want as they have demonstrated.
Dialoguing with them when their major demand is basically decentralisation of the country which will reduce the powers at the center and make the region manage their resources to pay a certain amount to the center will not be easy.
The issue now will be IS THE FG READY TO DO THAT?
If the FG announces today that it will sponsor a bill to the house for the adoption of true federalism/regionalis as contained in the 2014 confab report, i bet the bombings will stop and further negotiations can take place.
justice and fairness demands that every region should be productive and contribute to the center, This will even make us more united as a country and the slogan united in diversity will make more sense.
my two cents guy thats where i blame d useless governments we ve been having over d years but is nt enough for me to suport reckless, eccentric, myopic, rash and greedy disposition of some actors |

Did Buhari not know that some sections of Nigeria believe that Boko Haram was used to sack Jonathan for Buhari to become president, after all, Buhari had been rejected thrice before in the polls? but they always forget that they have been agitating before jonathan became president and that there founder was killed in detention during yaradua unlike what d bigoted tribalist will have u believe. |
