On masks, if it were possible to chart and pictorially represent the character of man, in other words...if you go beneath the skin surface and its underlying tissues and fibers to reveal the man underneath, what you call disgusting in these cultural art is far more beautiful than the ugliness that will greet you.

Politics / Re: Onslaught Against Boko Haram Is Part 1 Of Nigeria's Eventual Break Up by GEJ!! by YorubaFirst: 1:13pm On May 23, 2013
Onome,

Good analysis! Allow me to add that;

1. By admitting that his army is infiltrated by bokoharam, COAS commits the same blunder that the CiC was guilty of when he admitted his goverment is infiltrated with elements of bokoharam.

2. Such lamentations of helplessness and vulnerability should issue from Shekau and not from the man who heads the highest security apparatus of our sovereingty.

3. Nobody likes the deployment of boots and guns on their soil. It heightens risks, threats, mistrusts and reprisals.

4. When Jaji was attacked by bokoharam a senior Northern Army Officer was fired for the security lapse. Northerners were upset with that outcome. Few weeks after that COAS reshuffled the ranks and promotions and got hammered for playing tribalism card.

5. COAS also gave a public press release, linking fuel tanker from the North with covert operations by boko to bomb Lagos. This revelation was not only untruthful and unprofessional, it created risks to the lives of fuel tankers, most of whom were Northerners..

6. When the State of Emergency was declared, Northern Elders became surrogates and the issue of terrorism thinned out. They see it as an attack on the Northern values, bokoharam or no bokoharam.

7. People who take their grievances to the UN or ICJ with charges of rights abuse often end up also demanding a separation or a autonomous recognition. They position themselves as victims and therefore erect an umbrella of international support to disarm their oppresor, from under which they craftly unleash a devastating attack on their monitored opponent.

A point of correction on something i noticed in your opening, "fulaniland". There is no fulaniland in Nigeria. There is a fulani province and thats Adamawa, part of which used to be Kanuriland.

tomakint: There is one thing you can't take away from this man (Ihejirika), and that is BRAVERY! He is indeed a gallant soldier!

grin grin

Bokoharam is notorious for hunting down people that tell lie about them. Thats why Thisday lost its media hous. Its why Sagir Musa, head of JTF has not been heard from after they warned him about peddling lies and revealed to him is footseps around Maiduguri.

The last time Ihejirika made a public announcement was when he told lies about boko shipping ied in fuel tanker to Lagos.

The Chief of Defense has been the one since coordinating Army deployment and public relations.

Ihejirika is the BRAVEST soldier in Africa. grin

The story was that the lady had already been to Abuja and she was directed to come to Lagos. I think this is just synonymous to let's say doing your biometrics in the state you live in but when you want to do your national passport you have to travel to wherever the embassy is located.

Maybe the branch to help this woman is located in Lagos.
Maybe now they will take her seriously now that she has exposed her boobs.

Could that branch have been the Lagos State Secretariat?

Mods,

Another divisive thread. You guys want to eradicate tribalism in politics section, why then do you allow highly tribalistic topics and news contents to stay in here? Posters of tribalistic topics and news article deserve a ban just as you will ban someone for making tribal comments in a post. Don't you think?

Thank you all .

Mods,

The content of the following thread is tribalistic and divisive. Please move to sectarian section. Anything that divides Nigerians should not be in our politics section at all. One Nigeria! No war, No division!!

Thanks

mikeansy: As we plan to rehabilitate incacerated suspects

is there any plans to rehabilitate families of victims who lost their loved one?

I believe amnesty to bokoharam should be given in reduced penalty and sentences and not monetary. Monetary compensantion should be paid to families and businesses to compensate injuries, lost lives, lost businesses and properties.

Its a monumental challenge and dissapointing that not everyone will be settled.

It will be nice if you can prove to me that with your oil you are self sufficient but i know you cant. So prove to yourself now that you have the social support to aid the welfare and wellbeing of your own. This girl came out of you, rescue her.

The Presidency should work harder to capture Shekau so that they dont have to negotiate with him. That man has overseen too many attrocities to walk free.

I dont this the release is intended to placate BH. But rather to say to North that the Presidency is not at war with Islam or people of Hausa Fulani descent. Trust me this perception will go a long way to enhance the defeat of BH.

I also wish BH continue their stubbornness and refuse amnesty because such muderous terrorsist deserve no amnesty.

Has the North made their incarceration an issue? No! While the bottom line is about carrots and sticks, the President must not handout free carrots before its demanded. What is he getting in return for this gesture?

This action betrays the rumor that the State of Emergency is a success. If the SoE is a success then GEJ has earned political and military advantage to force bokoharam into tight-end negotiation. He should not be in a hurry to yield grounds to them. That negotiation should include in the minimum the following top three demands:

1. that Shekau and the top leadership of boko must surrender, their field operations in Nigeria and command posts must be decommissioned and submitted to authorities

2. that a rehabilitation programme be setup and they must accept the guidelines of the programme

3. that their women and children will be released in exchange for investigation and prosecution of their active male members.

Yorubas will never travel to go beg in other regions. If a Yoruba is stranded in another region he/she knows to go find the Yoruba head in that place and get assistance. This is a true test of citizenship staring us in our face.

For those in SS and SE calling for separation so they can manage their oil.....this woman is your test. Prove your ability to stand on your own by resolving this problem without intervention fom Westerners.

AjanleKoko: The woman doesn't need Fashola or Uduaghan to give her 200k.
I recommend the NL E-Helpers get in touch with her, see what can be done to assist her. Not everything requires government intervention. It's not even about the money.

NL helpers! Are you serious Then three more will follow behind her to come beg in Lagos and what do you do for them?
