qtguru:You see ? That means B2B won't fly too for the average builder |
Alphabyte1:this one won't fly at all, they'll need to buy AR kits to even get started |
qtguru:You see what I said ? Even B2B are hard because you will need to have a strong connection to make partnerships or spend big money on ads |
qtguru:That is why I asked you, what kind of service ? Since you say you know |
Deasegun19:AI for what exactly ? |
qtguru:CODM is for entertainment, I mean an actual service like a SAAS |
LikeAking:Yes, many things dey to build but how many can generate a reasonable amount of revenue to sustain a startup in Nigeria ? Last time I checked, Nigerians don't like paying for software or any form of online service no matter how small the fee is |

I spent a while building this forum software but it turns out I won't be having time to run it myself, it's going to be a busy year for me so, I have decided to give it out to anyone who has interest in it. This forum software is written using PHP/laravel and has many features like user wallet with paystack integration, paid ads manager, digital products marketplace, VTU portal with an API integration to a very cheap airtime and SME data provider, referral/affiliate program, loyalty program, voucher codes, premium membership e.t.c Price is just 10k (because people don't value free things) though if I'm convinced with your words, I might give it to you for less the amount or free. |
Felixitie:Lol! We are cool, man. Sure, it can work on every page, it depends on how much time you are willing to invest in coding it, there are selenium libraries for some languages which you can integrate with a crawler you build and use regex pattern matching to determine which page is which, that's why I was against tagging it simple as you did since we both don't know OP 's full intention |
bedfordng:You get my point ! OP needs to pay for the job. Whether it is complex or not, the time the developer spent in acquiring the skill demands a befitting payment, if we keep emphasizing on it being simple, OP will want to underpay for the job or demand for it to be free. That's why you should never tag any job simple when you bid, it's like demarketing yourself, just highlight your experience and let them decide if they want it or not |
Felixitie:if it's not that complex, why don't you just paste the source code here for him or the full instruction on how to do it ? admit it, it's something that demands quality attention not just something you can run over. |
Her life, her business ! BTW! If you would like to create a forum like nair aland hit me up |
Felixitie:It's not even the infinite scrolling alone, you have to click on some data to unhide them, beautiful soup is not the right tool, even with selenium, it won't be an easy task because you either go category by category or build a mini js enabled crawler to index the site I laughed when I saw someone comment he can show OP how to do it with beautiful soup, |
adaperry25:Wow ! How do you intend to achieve this ? Do you write weekly or in bulk ? |
chim14:just because there is a python library that eases the job a little doesn't mean my time should be always free, don't you agree ? OP is clearly scraping the site for his personal business or intends to resell it, he should be willing to foot the bill if he really wants a professional job |
Devaro:why do you want to scrape data from the site ? if you are willing to pay for my time, I can cookup a solution for you |
LearnedsConcept:Which of the colors ? The background or the text color ? NOTE: I only used 4 colors on the whole site 1. Black for background 2. Emerald for links 3. White for text 4. Grey to highlight less important text All the above colors flow very well and we see them everyday, in fact, they are the default colors used on Mac OS, Windows and Linux terminals so, I'm really surprised you are complaining, almost everyone loved the color combination and commended me for it, maybe you are allergic to dark mode. |
olak3:I'm actually running a forum similar to nairaland not a blog. Though, you can buy premium wordpress themes online or hire someone to customize your blog for you however you want |
Bigajeff:The funny part is that he keeps calling the sites a nairaland copy and paste, meanwhile both naijafans and nairaboard distinguish themselves in terms of design and features. Nairaboard for example uses dark mode and has a publisher program feature that let's users earn cash by responding to reply requests on their threads by other members, nairaboard even has a marketplace with an affiliate system where you can sell digital products or help others sell their products to earn commission. You can even block people on nairaboard from mentioning you and you have send a message request to PM anyone on the site, no need for emails If he took time to go through the site, he would have known before jumping into conclusion. My method of building is even based on member suggestion, it's clearly stated here nairaboard.com/about-us |
Bigajeff:Don't mind him, he is just out to discredit people's work. |
Goldmynemaniac:Your problem is that you lack the ability to comprehend things clearly. I already specified that I wanted to build a forum that loads as fast as wikipedia to serve as a source of information to anyone in distress, anyone can just query it directly or discover it from google search, I never said I wanted it to be the next facebook where you and your family members can clutter it with personal pictures and stories that nobody will ever find useful. You are really clueless in this, I will advice you swallow your pride and admit it. A lot of people discover nairaland from google, they get forced to register when it's finally time for them to inquire more about a topic they see and then end up engaging with other members or continue visiting the forum to source new content. Rest, I have been in this game for a very longtime and I know more than you. |
Goldmynemaniac:yeah! off you go kid, bye |
Goldmynemaniac:Lmao ! I built Nairaboard entirely from scratch myself. If you had created an account and explored some of the additional features added, you will know that I am capable of building something else entirely, the choice to keep it similar to nairaland was intentional, I didn't set out to build something completely different from what people were used to. My goal was to create a forum that loads as fast as wikipedia and provides quality information for anyone searching from google. In the end, I can monetize the traffic or use it as a medium to promote my next line of apps Rest and stop feeling like Mr. I too know, nobody searching for information on google checks the site design as long as he or she can read the content there, I'm even willing to sell the site script to anyone who needs it to create his or her own forum. It's not a do or die for me, it was just a side project ! |
Goldmynemaniac:Okay, kiddo ! Off you go. And FYI ! That forum nairaboard will continue to exist with that same design, the goal was to create a spin off of nairaland, your opinion won't count ![]() |
Goldmynemaniac:I disagree, the site distinguish itself from Nairaland in design and internal features, besides, the current design Nairaland is using was based on babylon theme of simple machines forum so, nairaland itself is a copycat for your information ! We wey old know the story And BTW! There are lots of foreign forum sites that use the same design and thrive, what matters is content. It's why people visit facebook, twitter and tiktok on daily basis even when they can just stick to one app. You are just looking for a new design to see, people like you still get tired after few days, Your problem is boredom not a platform design issue. If Nairaland was that bad, why are you still on it ? It's all about content |
Goldmynemaniac:how do you mean ? Like in terms of design ? |
Shakitibob0:good move. I'm using a customized script |
