TravelRe: Have You Ever Had The Opportunity Of Living Nigeria Eventually Didn't Work Out? by Youonlyliveonce: 5:06pm On Jul 27, 2020
My family have being ready to sponsor and begging me to leave the country since I left sec school years ago but I refused mostly cos I believed I could do something great here in Nigeria. I still strongly believe I can do much in this country but after my business failed recently I'm willing to leave the country for exposure and the experience I really need it [tho the financial support is not available anymore lol]

My journey to leave this country is just a five year plan no place like home man [Maybe my village people just have a strong hold on me Sha]

have you sent money to your mother or siblings? Do you currently have any investment? Do you have landed properties?
Op answer this questions if your answer to the last two is No, then you have failed in Life. You are more worried about pleasing some dingbats than creating a future for yourself and family which is the initial reason you left the country.

Just don't make the mistake of coming to Nigeria cos those friends of yours are ready to kill you without giving it a thought.

By the special grace of God January 2021 will not pass me.
I've completed my TEFL course on-line and all other requirements are available now except the police and medical which I intend doing in December due to the 6 months validity after which I will authenticate.
I've started applying for jobs already and getting both negative and positive response. Most said I should get back to them when the boarders are open.
I am also looking at China to teach because they pay more than in Vietnam.
At Whyna inspired me to take this part in leaving this country and start globe trotting via teaching English abroad with lots of opportunities.

Thank to the merciful God for healing your mum.
Good progress bro, we are expecting your own thread in whichever country you land. January is not that far anymore

Someone is confused and He/she decided to ask the OP for further explanation, you jumped on the question as if he/she quoted you.

You all need to learn how to mind your business.

OP, Well-done. I have a degree, what other qualifications do I need to teach in Vietnam? Should I get IELT or TOEFL.
Lol it's funny cos the only reason you attacked me was cos you also wanted to ask an unnecessary question. You are even asking the same question the guy asked lol

God Bless Nigeria.

The morning I was to start the job, as early as 5am, dude replies and bombards me with calls and texts saying LEAVE NOW and telling me all sorts.

Ah! Leave bawo? Me that just packed load and moved about 40kms. How I wan take move? In my mind I said it's either it's not as bad as he's making it sound or if it's bad, I endure and work for two months, collect salary and japa. I was wrong

First day, after class, I saw half of what the guy warned me about.

Second day, same

I started dreading work, it wasn't funny. In my mind, I went from 2 months to 1 month but for where? Complain complain.

3 weeks later, I LEFT!

Thankfully, I still had my weekend job though far but again, thank God I have a motorbike!

The same day I stopped, I got my own apartment and with the 3 weeks salary and a little more, I paid 3 months rent and and deposit equivalent to 4 months rent!
Good to have you back, I guess it's not easy getting a perfect school to teach over there but I'm sure it will get better with time. Please keep updating us o and don't mind the thread derailers including me

PS - Your apartment looks really nice I'm sure it goes for $250 per month

Hey bru, I support immigration through finding decent jobs. But I don't support the marriage of foreigners to change a passport. It is awful and shameful.
Well you are just been close minded, I never asked him to marry her I only advised he will be better off going over there to her if he has the opportunity cos she can definitely help him settle down and probably get a good job over there than being here

In Vietnam marrying their citizen doesn't guarantee permanent Residence and it will take years to even get it cos they don't give it out easily.

My point is he is better off going there with is gf helping him start a better life over there and they can come together to Nigeria later.

Hey guys, I met a Vietnamese girl online few months ago & now we are madly in Love with each other.
She works at a Bank there in the Capital City & She always call me on Video call & even when she's at work and most of her friends already know me.
Vietnamese girls love is so out of this world, My girl is so obsessed with me.
She cries on Video call that she can't wait for International flights to kick-off so we can finally meet
I am also madly in Love with her, and we're making plans already on how to meet.

So my question now is, Should I go & meet her in Vietnam or I should tell her to come over to Nigeria?
Her parents & my parents are already aware of our relationship.

I await your advice.
Bro let me be real with you, if you have a good thing going on for you here in Nigeria then you can tell her to come over here but if you don't just jejeli pack your load and goan meet her, cos she might come here and be disappointed or your village people make her change her mind about you [Just saying a lot of things are in play and can go wrong]

And you said she works in a bank so I don't thing she can just make the decision of leaving her job then hop on a plane to Nigeria, don't lose this opportunity to japa unless I repeat you have something good going on for you here in Nigeria.

Am seriously in great pains now embarassed embarassed embarassed

I applied to a uni in vietnam for scholarship that closed June.

I drafted and composed sop for my brother and I for this scholarship, I applied for Bachelors degree program for my brother and i, even though I am a graduate.

Luckily after a week they dropped a mail to our different gmail accounts about being qualified for a half tuition scholarship with accommodation but will need to have an interview with us a date was given to me I declined going further for the Skype interview.

I told my bro to pick a date for his interview advised him on his preparation then he did the interview they just dropped a mail this morning about giving him update about the result of the scholarship or interview this week hopefully this week, after I stumbled on this thread I had to rush back to the school to book me for the interview till today bro no replies but laslas looks like I will focus on the work visa for migration since am a graduate.
From what I reasearched it's better to go to Vietnam on tourist visa then search for teaching jobs than searching from Nigeria they are more willing to take applicants on ground, you can even apply to schools when you get there and change status to student permit if you get a school that admits you.
Pls share your brother here the name of the uni you and your brother applied too o abed
