There is a vast contrast between the two aforementioned players. Omeruo is strong and fast but lacks the technical knowledge needed for today’s game as a defender while Fikayo Tomori on the other hand has a good understanding of the game has better techniques and even better posture on the ball. Maybe the super eagles can use the two players but one thing for sure, Tomori will be a better addition to the Eagles line up compared to Omeruo. What’s your thoughts?

The Nigerian Air Force destroyed barges it said were carrying caches of oil in Rivers State on November 10, as part of an ongoing military campaign against the theft of crude oil from pipelines in the Niger Delta. This footage shows a Nigerian Air Force helicopter opening fire at barges and canoes, which were stationed around the towns of Isaka, Bille, Alakiri and Kidney Island. “The latest operations showed that illegal bunkering activities have resumed around Bille and environs,” an official statement on the Nigerian Air Force’s Facebook page reads. “Nevertheless, the NAF will not relent in its pursuit to put an end to these acts of economic sabotage by ridding the region of these criminal elements.” Watch here: http://www.nigerianews360.com/2016/11/15/nigerian-air-force-destroys-barges-it-says-were-carrying-stolen-oil/

The Blues wing-back is finally having his breakthrough at Stamford Bridge, but his talent was unearthed in the most remarkable circumstances by a youth-team manager EXCLUSIVE PICTURES INSIDE Victor Moses’s early years in England were not easy, according to his first manager. At 13, he was attacked on the field by a woman for humiliating her son and accused of cheating while playing for “the worst team in the league”. Despite his struggles, though, Tony Loizi was convinced he had found a special player when he welcomed him to Cosmos 90. Loizi met Moses when the youngster approached the Tandridge Youth Football League team looking for a game after he had been resettled in England following the religiously-motivated murder of his parents in Nigeria. The 25-year-old has enjoyed a fantastic rise to become Antonio Conte’s first-choice right wing-back at Chelsea. But it was Loizi who introduced him to the English game after getting the permission of his foster parents to sign him up to play in the youth league just outside of London. The manager was so impressed by him that he still has the documentation of his former player to prove that he discovered the former Wigan winger. http://www.nigerianews360.com/2016/11/15/the-rise-of-victor-mosesfrom-being-attacked-by-angry-mums-to-chelseas-first-team/

Nigeria beat Sweden 1-0 to earn six points from its two matches. In the first match of Group B play on Match Day 2, Nigeria defeated Sweden 1-0. Nigeria started on the front foot, holding possession and putting pressure on Sweden’s defense. Nigeria almost took the lead as forward Sadiq Umar gotin on goal against Swedish goalkeeper Andreas Linde, but the keeper was up to the challenge. In the 23rd minute Sweden had its best scoring opportunities of the first half as Mikael Ishak made a run behind Nigeria’s backline, but his volley attempt went wide of the goal. Sweden had few chances the rest of the half as Nigeria established control in the match. Nigeria’s Oghenekaro Etebo, who had four goals in his team’s first Olympic match, had a golden opportunity in the 36th minute. Imoh Ezekiel found Etebo wide open in the box, but he sent his header just over the crossbar. Just a few minutes later Umar put Nigeria in front. Stanley Amuzie sent in a curling cross to Umar who placed his header past Linde. Early on in the second half Sweden’s Linde was forced into multiple diving saves to prevent Nigeria from building on its lead. First, Nigerian captain John Obi Mikel sent a hard strike toward the goal. Then, minutes later, Linde got his fingertips to an Etebo shot that was heading for goal. Despite the small margin of victory, Nigeria dominated Sweden throughout. Nigeria had 10 shots on goal compared to Sweden’s one and held 56 percent of the possession. Nigeria now has six points and is in a great position to advance to the quarterfinals. Sweden remains at one point. Next up for Nigeria is its final group stage match against Colombia on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. ET. Sweden plays its next match on the same day and time against Japan. http://afrivid.net/index.php/2016/08/08/nigeria-tops-sweden-1-0-group/

– One of the Niger Delta militant groups takes responsibility for the attack on pipeline in Rivers state – The militants threatened to continue their attacks if President Buhari won’t address their demands Niger Delta Justice Defence Group (NDJDG) has attacked oil pipelines in Bera, Gokana local government area of the Rivers state on early hours of August 4, Thursday. The group revealed about this in a statement made available to NAIJ.com. The militants said that this is in continuation of their warning to the government of Muhammadu Buhari to immediately look into their demand and attend to them. The statement reads: “We are responsible for the vandalization of oil pipelines in Bera, Gokana local government area of Rivers state last night, by 1.30am. “Previously we blew up pipelines in Gio-Tai L.G.A and B-Dere in Gokana L.G.A and issued warning to oil companies to vacate our region and suspend all oil explorations in the region until our demands are met. “Till now, the FG is still playing politics with the Ogoni cleanup while the people continue to suffer every day from environmental degradation. We will continue our actions until the welfare and plight of our people are given utmost attention by the Muhamadu Buhari led FG. “This time around we shall spread our tentacles and expand the scope of our operation to Onne Wharf in Rivers state and other parts of the country.” The NDJDG earlier listed five demands to the government of President Buhari. The militants asked to be allowed to control the oil output in the region and to immortalize activists who died during the struggle for better life for the Niger Delta region among others. Earlier today, August 4, the Niger Delta Avengers, challenged the Nigerian army to share the photos of the killed militants. The Avengers claimed that Buhari can’t intimidate them. Legendary heavyweight champion and social icon Muhammad Ali has died, a family spokesman said late Friday in a statement. He was 74. Ali had been hospitalized in the Phoenix area this week with respiratory issues. The Paradise Valley Police Department told ABC News that an emergency medical services call was made from Ali's address in the Phoenix area on Tuesday, and the Phoenix Fire Department confirmed it responded to a call for mutual aid for a 74-year-old male with respiratory issues at that time. He had been fighting a respiratory illness, a condition that has been further complicated by Parkinson's disease. The funeral will take place in Ali's hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, his family said. Born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Ali shot to fame by winning light-heavyweight gold at the 1960 Rome Olympics. Nicknamed "The Greatest", the American beat Sonny Liston in 1964 to win his first world title and became the first boxer to capture a world heavyweight title on three separate occasions. He eventually retired in 1981, having won 56 of his 61 fights. Crowned "Sportsman of the Century" by Sports Illustrated and "Sports Personality of the Century" by the BBC, Ali was noted for his pre- and post-fight talk and bold fight predictions just as much as his boxing skills inside the ring. But he was also a civil rights campaigner and poet who transcended the bounds of sport, race and nationality. Asked how he would like to be remembered, he once said: "As a man who never sold out his people. But if that's too much, then just a good boxer. I won't even mind if you don't mention how pretty I was." Ali turned professional immediately after the Rome Olympics and rose through the heavyweight ranks, delighting crowds with his showboating, shuffling feet and lightning reflexes. British champion Henry Cooper came close to stopping Clay, as he was still known, when they met in a non-title bout in London in 1963. Cooper floored the American with a left hook, but Clay picked himself up off the canvas and won the fight in the next round when a severe cut around Cooper's left eye forced the Englishman to retire. Ali's boxing career ■ Won Olympic light-heavyweight gold in 1960 ■ Turned professional that year and was world heavyweight champion from 1964 to 1967, 1974 to 1978 and 1978 to 1979 ■ Had 61 professional bouts, winning 56 (37 knockouts, 19 decisions), and losing five (4 decisions, 1 retirement) In February the following year, Clay stunned the boxing world by winning his first world heavyweight title at the age of 22. He predicted he would beat Liston, who had never lost, but few believed he could do it. Yet, after six stunning rounds, Liston quit on his stool, unable to cope with his brash, young opponent. At the time of his first fight with Liston, Clay was already involved with the Nation of Islam, a religious movement whose stated goals were to improve the spiritual, mental, social, and economic condition of African Americans in the United States. But in contrast to the inclusive approach favoured by civil rights leaders like Dr Martin Luther King, the Nation of Islam called for separate black development and was treated by suspicion by the American public. Ali eventually converted to Islam, ditching what he perceived was his "slave name" and becoming Cassius X and then Muhammad Ali. In 1967, Ali took the momentous decision of opposing the US war in Vietnam, a move that was widely criticised by his fellow Americans. He refused to be drafted into the US military and was subsequently stripped of his world title and boxing licence. He would not fight again for nearly four years. After his conviction for refusing the draft was overturned in 1971, Ali returned to the ring and fought in three of the most iconic contests in boxing history, helping restore his reputation with the public. He was handed his first professional defeat by Joe Frazier in the "Fight of the Century" in New York on 8 March 1971, only to regain his title with an eighth-round knockout of George Foreman in the "Rumble in the Jungle" in Kinshasa, Zaire (now Democratic Republic of Congo) on 30 October 1974. Ali fought Frazier for a third and final time in the Philippines on 1 October 1975, coming out on top in the "Thrilla in Manila" when Frazier failed to emerge for the 15th and final round. Six defences of his title followed before Ali lost on points to Leon Spinks in February 1978, although he regained the world title by the end of the year, avenging his defeat at the hands of the 1976 Olympic light-heavyweight champion. Ali's career ended with one-sided defeats by Larry Holmes in 1980 and Trevor Berbick in 1981, many thinking he should have retired long before. He fought a total of 61 times as a professional, losing five times and winning 37 bouts by knockout. Soon after retiring, rumours began to circulate about the state of Ali's health. His speech had become slurred, he shuffled and he was often drowsy. Parkinson's Syndrome was eventually diagnosed but Ali continued to make public appearances, receiving warm welcomes wherever he travelled. He lit the Olympic cauldron at the 1996 Games in Atlanta and carried the Olympic flag at the opening ceremony for the 2012 Games in London. www.bbcnews.com/sports

How to shop online safely in 2016 Safe Internet Use Technology is now the go to thing today. So it’s easy to shop online but you have to be very careful when shopping online. Here are some expert tips on conducting your transactions online today. Some valuable tips on using the internet safely. • Fraud resulting from making payments over unsecured web pages. • Fraud resulting from making payments using an unsecured Wi-Fi connection. • Bogus online stores/shops – fake websites and email offers for goods and services that do not exist. • Buying fake goods intentionally or unintentionally – finding they are of inferior quality and also possibly funding more serious crimes in the process. • Losing your money when you make direct bank payments, only to find that the goods are inferior, or do not exist at all. • Receiving goods or services which do not match the advertiser’s description. • Being offered tailored prices based on information gathered by the retailer about your online shopping habits and websites visited. Safe Shopping • Ensure that any online retailer unfamiliar to you is reputable by researching them. Establish a physical address and telephone contact details. Remember that the best way to find a reputable retailer is via recommendation from a trusted source. • Remember that paying by credit card offers greater protection than with other methods in terms of fraud, guarantees and non-delivery. • Double check all details of your purchase before confirming payment. • Do not reply to unsolicited emails from companies you don’t recognise. • Before entering payment card details on a website, ensure that the link is secure, in three ways: • There should be a padlock symbol in the browser window frame, which appears when you attempt to log in or register. Be sure that the padlock is not on the page itself … this will probably indicate a fraudulent site. • The web address should begin with ‘https://’. The ‘s’ stands for ‘secure’. • If using the latest version of your browser, the address bar or the name of the site owner will turn green. • Some websites will redirect you to a third-party payment service (such as WorldPay). Ensure that these sites are secure before you make your payment. • Do not pay for goods when using an unsecured Wi-Fi connection. • Safeguard and remember the password you have chosen for the extra verification services used on some websites, such as Verified by Visa. • When making a payment to an individual, never transfer the money directly into their bank account but use a secure payment site such as PayPal, where money is transferred between two electronic accounts. • Check sellers’ privacy policy and returns policy. • Always log out of sites into which you have logged in or registered details. Simply closing your browser is not enough to ensure privacy. • Keep receipts. • Check credit card and bank statements carefully after shopping to ensure that the correct amount has been debited, and also that no fraud has taken place as a result of the transaction. • Ensure you have effective and updated antivirus/antispyware software and firewall running before you go online. • Where possible, check that the price listed by the retailer on your browser is the same as that quoted on other people’s browswers, to ensure you are not being monitored and overcharged.

Africa’s Biggest Mall Opens In South Africa and By 1.30pm, 70,000 people had walked into Mall of Africa. Mr Wilken said many customers were taking advantage of opening sales by large stores such as clothing retailers H&M and Cotton On and electronics group Dion Wired. Starbucks had also opened its second branch in the country and was “trading extremely well”. “We are really excited about what this mall can do. It is located in an extremely good position. Shopping mall culture is very much entrenched in South Africans. In Gauteng, we hang out at malls. Families go to malls. It’s what we do. We feel we have built a centre which has a strong choice of tenants, more space and more facilities than any other shopping centre in SA,” said https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymFhyW7RTRY&feature=youtu.be |
This is bound to be one of the greatest corruption cases in the world http://www.afrivid.net/2016/04/lionel-messi-vladimir-putin-and-top.html |
A massive leak of documents exposes the offshore holdings of 12 current and former world leaders and reveals how associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin secretly shuffled as much as $2 billion through banks and shadow companies. The leak also provides details of the hidden financial dealings of 128 more politicians and public officials around the world. The cache of 11.5 million records shows how a global industry of law firms and big banks sells financial secrecy to politicians, fraudsters and drug traffickers as well as billionaires, celebrities and sports stars. These are among the findings of a yearlong investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung and more than 100 other news organizations. The files expose offshore companies controlled by the prime ministers of Iceland and Pakistan, the king of Saudi Arabia and the children of the president of Azerbaijan. They also include at least 33 people and companies blacklisted by the U.S. government because of evidence that they’d been involved in wrongdoing, such as doing business with Mexican drug lords, terrorist organizations like Hezbollah or rogue nations like North Korea and Iran. One of those companies supplied fuel for the aircraft that the Syrian government used to bomb and kill thousands of its own citizens, U.S. authorities have charged. “These findings show how deeply ingrained harmful practices and criminality are in the offshore world,” said Gabriel Zucman, an economist at the University of California, Berkeley and author of “The Hidden Wealth of Nations: The Scourge of Tax Havens.” Zucman, who was briefed on the media partners’ investigation, said the release of the leaked documents should prompt governments to seek “concrete sanctions” against jurisdictions and institutions that peddle offshore secrecy.
