ObiORBiafra: Buhari and Tinubu are really good men. Obi or OBJ would not have done anything in the SE if they were president and there were constantly bombarded the way you guys have been bombarding Buhari and Tinubu. Buhari delivered the Second Niger Bridge regardless and now Tinubu is giving you guys SEDC among other things but guess what. He's still the favorite thing for a SE'sterner to hate. IBB started and completed the 3rd mainland bridge ( the longest bridge in africa) with no noise, And buhari in his 8 years could only complete the 2nd Niger bridge (that he stopped the project as soon as he came to power) connecting the south east and south south geopolitical zone, with Federal government money wey no be him father own, and you expect igbos to worship him,
What happens to rail and other infrastructure, abi those region no deserve am, but instead he chose Niger republic, shouting 5 percent and dot in the circle like it will break the spirit, but how far?
As for your tinubu let's not even go there, Currently SW has 10 ministers, while SE and SS combined has 11 minus beta edu is 10 ministers for the two geopolitical zone. |

Ofunaofu: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been commended for continuing the reconstruction of the road that linked Abia State with Imo State, including the component bridge that was destroyed during the civil war.
Hon, Sam Onuigbo made the commendation on Sunday in a press conference in Umuahia following “positive reports” he received on the state of works on the federal road linking Abia to Imo and the one linking it to Akwa Ibom State.
The Ubakala-Umunwanwa-Udo Adobi-Achingalli Road has been in a state of disrepair since the civil war ended in 1970.
With the destroyed bridge left unattended to, it has been a herculean task to access Imo State from the south-eastern end of Umuahia South Local Government.
But Onuigbo said that he was happy that things were changing for better as the progress of work on the road was satisfactory while a section of the bridge has been completed.
He said: “Electioneering has come and gone and this (Tinubu) administration should be commended for maintaining admirable momentum to complete the road projects awarded by the last administration.
Onuigbo stated that the interstate road was very strategic it would reduce the journey from Umuahia to Imo Airport to less than an hour.
The former federal lawmaker, who represented Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, noted that the road project was inherited by the Tinubu’s administration from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
According to him, it was heartwarming that the link road with Imo was not abandoned by the new administration, just as it has also sustained work on Umuahia-Ikwuano-Ikot Ekpene Road linking Abia State and Akwa Ibom State.
On the skill acquisition centre at Ubakala and the federal secretariat projects that he championed as a federal lawmaker, Onuigbo noted that the skill centre has reached 85 percent completion.
He stated that work on the federal secretariat project, which had been eluding Abia for over three decades, would soon start as land has been secured within the state’s capital territory.
The two-term federal lawmaker hinged his optimism on the fact that the present Abia State Governor, Mr.Alex Otti, unlike his predecessor, has “shown willingness” to cooperate with the federal government to realise the project.
Onuigbo, who represented the South-east on the board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), said that the agency is working hard to achieve its mandate.
He said that the North-east, which constituted one-third of Nigeria’s land mass, was devastated by insurgency, adding that a master plan has been adopted to rebuild the zone, comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States.
The NEDC’s board member explained that the benefits of the interventionist activities of NEDC would not be enjoyed by only the indigenes of the six states that make up the North-east zone but all Nigerians resident in the area.
He said: “Devastation of North-east was not selective. Other Nigerians living in the area were also affected,” adding that whatever the NEDC was doing to rebuild the zone is for the benefit of all Nigerians.

Politics › Re: The Real Reasons Why Niger Delta Ports Won't Work Optimally Like Lagos Ports by YourRealFather: 10:56am On Mar 10, 2024 |
IkeOnyia: For many years, there has been clamour for the reactivation of ports in other parts of the country especially the south south region in order to relieve the congested ports in Lagos state. Some have accused omo yorubas of delebrately stiffling the growth of other ports so that Lagos remains the primary port of call in the country. But is this allegation true?
For two reasons, I argue that it is not.
First, geography. A look at the map of Nigeria and Africa indeed shows that Lagos is strategically located at the closest point to the European and American shipping routes ie, it is the very first port in Nigeria that ships coming from these two continents can reach. It is not rocket science then to expect ships to offload their cargoes in Lagos instead of incurring extra costs for additional nautical miles to other downstream ports in the country. Besides, the vast majority of their clients are also in the Lagos area.
Second, the insecurity and other "cultural" factors in the Niger delta. "All their clients are in lagos" give other ports thesame privilege and see what will happen If americans dey reason like una na only New York port for dey work, but they still have ports in california and washington (seattle) on the west, down south Texas, louisiana, and Florida (Miami) ports are still active, Una pack everything put for one place and expect the whole country to develop. "Insecurities and cultural factors" but e no stop oil drilling for Niger delta, Make una dep play What are the Navy doing, if they really make am priority for the ports to be functional, that one no be reason, if insecurities and cultural factors cannot stop oil drilling, it should not stop the ports from functioning, Sometimes I blame our senators, and governors weda dem dey buy All this propaganda wey una dey dish out I no know. |

TundeBricklayer: I saw a thread some APC supporters are claiming Ebonyi state have best infastructures in Southeast, some ignorant minds will come on social media and typing nonsense how can you compare Anambra that's second urbanized state in Nigeria after Lagos to Ebonyi that only Abakalike the state capital is city in the state, Imagine if other infastructures in Onitsha are were in Awka or vise versa, Awka alone is more viable than Ebonyi state, how can a reasonable person compare Ebonyi to Anambra, go and see the massive industrial layout in Ogbaru the biggest in Southeast, go and see the business park in Onitsha, super high way with flyovers and pedestal bridges, Onitsha and enviro host more than 35 standard markets, good hospitals, best schools, just Onitsha, how can you compare Anambra to Ebonyi if not stupidity that exist here, currently Anambra is developing 4th city in Ekwulobia, while under focus on one city.
C.c Ebubu Afamed Bro all this comparison is not necessary, Some years back you were against this igbo inter state bashing, I don't know how you let this people get to you, You don't need a soothsayer to tell you that the guy you quoted, Ebubu is not an igbo guy, I'm from Delta state but you won't see me antagonising the south east, talk more of somebody who claims to be from the region, Bro just learn to wave this clowns over, don't let them get under your skin, They just want to see us tear each other into pieces, just understand their games.
