tranxo: My only issue is whether any person close to the governor/government even sees these brilliant online think-tanks.
they know all this but there reasoning behind their own model is because it might not be favourable to the common citizens, purchasing power of people in the west is different for people in Nigeria, therefore certain policies no matter how good might not work in the current Nigeria setting
Cyberterror: As supposed gas capital, you should be showing the headquarters of gas companies in Owerri not hotels and private mansions dotting the pictures which is common in every city in Nigeria.
That's to tell you that even with the abundant gas reserves, Imo state indigenes dont rely on natural resources alone to survive. Business and entertainment is our daily bread
Racheal45: Stop all this abeg Waiting concern me and am Obi is a billionaire if he wish to attend he will prepare before the day Obi go talk the same if na him father Let be honest
Is Buhari his father? What's the issue if he decides not to attend the day of the burial but comes the next day?
Racheal45: Peter obi This is not an excuse abeg If u truly Mean to pay your last respect you can book a private jet same as rest politician did Peter Obi is a Billionaire
Obi has told you time without number that he hardly uses or owns a private jet. Are you guys really possessed with anything Obi?
WizardOfNG: You people have twisted recollection of history because you are biased, hateful of others, unobjective and unprincipled.
2007 was clearly the turn of the North , per the gentleman's agreement of political leaders to rotate power between North and sought, after OBJ became President in 1999.
Nigeria had only come out of fractious military rule , after decades of it, to set up a new democracy in 1999 many hoped would endure. It was very important for leaders to respect the rotation agreement for peace to reign and end the cycle of military rule, via coup takeover, forever.
OBJ completed 8 years on behalf of the South and even sought a third term that was defeated because of that same rotation principle many had sworn to defend, for the greater good, and not let any individual's personal ambition hijack to the endangerment of Nigerias peace and security.
2007, Yar Adua, a Northerner, became President in compliance with the power rotation agreement. He became gravely ill and died 2010. His VP, a Southerner, GEJ was sworn in as substantive President.
The North initially , through the Turai Yar Adua cabal, never wanted to relinquish power. Tinubu was one of the leaders in the South who insisted GEJ must be sworn in substantive President without delay.
Eventually local and internal pressure meant the Yar Adua cabal had to relinquish power to allow GEJ become substantive President.
At the next election cycle in 2011, the North felt GEJ should not contest, many Southerners, including Tinubu, tacitly backed Jonathan to contest to remain President beyond the 1 year he had spent in office.
The thinking was that providence had put GEJ in office, and not any treacherous act to cheat the North of power, so it is right to allow him contest with the acceptance that his unique position was an act of God no one could predict.
Jonathan won the 2011 election and gained 4 more years in office. During his tenure, the power-hungry North became restive. They did everything, include internal sabotage and deployment of terrorism, to ensure GEJ would be a lame Duck President come 2015.
Tinubu and many Southern Nigerian leaders, reading the mood in the room, decided to pragmatically support what is in the best interest of the peace and unity of Nigeria to forestall return to military rule, more terrorism chaos and insecurity.
They reasoned that GEJ had already used five years of the slot of the North and deemed it fitting , for the greater good, to assist North regain power from Jonathan who was seeing his own personal ambition alone without caring how Nigeria was imploding under him because of action Northerners were taking openly to dislodge the "dishonorable usurper" they felt was trying to stay beyond the five years period of grace (approaching two presidential terms) others had accorded him.
GEJ had to go. It was the right decision, in my opinion, for Southern leaders to put the best interest of Nigeria above GEJ's personal agenda.
Folowers like you may not understand the above but leaders do what must be done for the greater goods whereas you have the pleasure of making sentimental decisions in your life daily as it is mainly you an a few others alone who will be affected negatively and not 230 million people.
Fast forward 2023. Buhari had finished 8 years in power on behalf of the North that Tinubu and many Southern leaders facilitated.
Buhari's Presidency was far from the best and downright horrid in his second term.Yet Tinubu and the South did not come for him. They honorably allowed him complete his second term in hope that the principle of "one good turn deserves another" would mean the North would honourably reciprocate.
Atiku, dishonorably going against the rotation principle, contested to be President in 2023 and lost. Tinubu then became President. Only two year into his Presidency, the North are plotting to oust him and put Atiku in Aso Rock.
This accurate reminder of history is necessary to show two things.
(1) Pragmatically intelligent and critical thinking Southerners, to include even Ijaws who are GEJ's direct kinsmen, do not feel Tinubu betrayed GEJ and the South in 2015.
They know he spoke up for GEJ to be sworn in as substantive President in 2010 and tacitly supported his 2011 win to gain four more years in office, by not offering any grassroot mobilisation, funding or logistic support to his own ACN 2011 candidate in Nuhu Ribadu as he did for Buhari in 2015 leading to Buhari winning 5 out of six SW States in the election when he had never won a single SW state in three previous attempts to be President.
(2) Southerner leaders, Akpabio and many others from the SS like Eno etal, who realise the above today, because they are mature and prahmatic unlike you and others, are the very people now against the North's dishonourable effort to push Tinubu out of power.
They know Tinubu did what was Pragmatically best for Nigeria due to how GEJ had emerged and because the North was spiralling out of control crazily without power the region is intoxicated with and would surely ramp up insecurity another notch if GEJ stayed a day beyond 5 years in office in what the North believe is their usurped slot.
Contrast the situation of GEJ with what obtains today when Tinubu has not died nor gravely ill yet some Northerners wish to replace him after only one term by fire by force, when it is never the turn of the North, while misguided southerners like you support them myopically without seeing the big picture.
Do you people ever sit to think properly and then note we would not be having this 'impasse' issue today, whereby Southern leaders like Akpabio etal are amassing behind Tinubu, if the North honorably declare that "Tinubu is not performing so we unanimously support this Southerner to depose him in 2027"?
No. Instead they blackmail others, even though their brother Buhari left Nigeria in a mess that cannot be cleaned up in even 20 years, that Tinubu is worst President ever and they alone, not another fellow Southerner to Tinubu, must return to power.
What is obvious, tying all the above together, is that Southern leaders know precisely the game the North is playing in the attempt to grab power dishonarably and desperately from a Southern President who is giving them more money and support to work with than ever before.
In contrast, some Southern followers, like you, remain self-destructively focused on committinf political suicide because of ignorance, sentiments and bigoted hatred against others.
This is why I will always insist most Nigerians leaders, like Akpabio, deserve to be leaders, even if ordinary Nigerians curse them all day long, because they are the better version of those following them in a nation where leaders and followers are highly warped in comparison to others worldwide.
all this long epistle doesn't change the fact that it's was Tinubu, a Yoruba man from south that connived to remove another southerner. So if you like continue writing more epistles, that I won't even waste my time reading
Igbos have always been right all along by always voting against Buhari. They knew he was a failure and ended been a monumental failure for 8 years. Igbos have seen a man that will do the job, but because of hatred from other regions, they will rather vote in another Buhari.
Sharpsharp00123: I said it that u people will learn a very bitter lesson of your life in 2026
Shebi na 2023 b d first time wey Una vote abi?
This time u will know the meaning behind f delegates n understand that delegates aren't online noisemakers but career Politicians who need dollars.
U can see PDP collapsing it's structure into ADC n hope u know those same delegates of PDP will have a great say in ADC?
U people will learn d hard way
and so what? What next if Atiku wins after buying delegates? How does that relate to him winning Tinubu? You guys don't learn. Same thing that happened to Atiku in PDP in 2023 will happen to him again in 2027, if he likes he should continue wasting his money buying delegates, he will loose and continue to loose the general election and will never be president
kedeojo: Atiku is ADC and ADC is Atiku. You guys should tell your messaih to build a party and contest with it. Atiku will any day pick the ticket of the coalition.
Atiku with an established PDP with governors and structure got only 6.9 million votes, but you think with an ADC he will win Tinubu? . Obi with a less popular Labour party with no structure and governor got 6 million. some times make una use una brain they do calculations. Atiku stands a better chance in PDP, he will only get 4 million votes in ADC, mark my words
sleek214: That's very true. Only Atiku/Obi ticket can defeat Tinubu.... Apart from delusional obidients, the other people pushing Obi are all APC members/supporters... e.g. Festus Kayemo, saying Obi should not accept to be Atiku's VP, Datti, his brother left Tinubu govt, he (Datti) secretly joined and is pushing Obi to contest...Aisha Yesufu, a delusional obidient or perhaps she knows she won't get the cash and publicity she got at the last election..... Obi has already agreed with Atiku before the coalition was formed but am afraid some of these talk might get to his head and he will pull out.... seems obi is greatly influenced by his social media followers/ advisers
you want obidients votes but you don't want Obi to have the ticket. Lets see how that works 😂😂😂😂
DeLaRue: I.e - we know Mr Atiku will win the primaries
I.e - but let's pretend and claim that we will support Obi if he wins
I.e - so that when (not if) Mr Obi loses, he will not leave ADC
But we all know that, the northern owners of ADC planned Mr Atiku's victory long before Mr Obi was even brought into the picture.
The only person who doesn't know how the ADC primary will end is Mr Obi because the other people are politically much smarter than him.
The only person not aware of the plan is Mr Obi.
you guys must think Obi is stupid or ignorant like you guys. Do you know Obi left PDP because he saw the way the primaries will be heavily dollarized and went ahead to contest on a less popular labour party. You lots always think because Obi talks with a low voice means he isn't strong. I laugh
chrisxxx: Ikwerre Men don't pretend with their intentions. They are bold and go all.out.for what they desire with no atom of gear or intimidation. See Wike see Amaechi.
chrisxxx: Your smartest brother Rochas did more for North with Imo State money for whatever you claim Wike or any other Rivers governor did.
We no send Rochas message. Imo people didn't push him to run for president the way Wike was doing. Did you see Rochas buying 100 branded buses for just party primaries and paying delegates $50000 each to vote for him? Rivers people are too naive. Oil money is driving their politicians crazy
FYI, the north respects Wike for standing up for Rivers , SS and southern interests.
😂😂😂😂, the north respects Wike, and he was disappointed by his main man Tambuwal? Did you ask yourself why Tambuwal decided to support Atiku at the dying minute, same Tambuwal, Wike gave 500million after a market fire in Sokoto. .. Ask yourself critical questions. Rivers politicians think they are smart by spending billions for the north to support them but they keep running away from their own shadow.
DeLaRue: That first 30km is a challenging section cutting through some built up areas in Lagos. It was inevitable that that section will take longer.
The next section to Ondo State will be easier and I expect they'll do up to another 100km, and go past Ondo State within the next 2 years.
Remember construction has started from the Calabar end too.
I think this project has a good chance of being completed within the original 7 year time frame. Even if it takes 10 years, it will not be the end of the world.
Most big and complex projects around the world are often delivered later than expected, except your name is China.
if the Lagos section is hard, what about the Nigeria delta with a more rugged and daunting terrain needing sandfiiling, extensive earth works, pilling and bridges?? 😂😂😂
yyba: ATIKU, kwankwaso, OBI and El RUFAI must all contest for president in 2027 presidential election against president TINUBU they like it or not 😆
I asked again, where will Tinubu get votes if they all run? He won't get from the north like he got last time because of Atiku and Elrufai, he won't get from the south east because of Obi, the votes in south south because of Amaechi, Obi and Atiku. The north central will be divided by Tinubu and Obi, only the south west is showing for him except Osun, Lagos will be divided. So how will Tinubu win a free election without rigging? and fact that Nigerians are complaining, it won't be easy for an angry and hungry man to vote APC that made them 3x poorer
Front0lane: If you ask for the source of this obvious fraud na endemic wailing OP go result to.
that's my Alma mater, the preps, preparations, readings, studies, extension and you think it's fraud? They dont help students during waec. You must use your head.
Ttalk: Why do you like naming others for your inefficiency.
Tinubu conceived and birthed Free Trade Zone In Lagos today the place is filled with industries with Dangote Fertilizer and Dangote. Refinery as Nigeria industry yet you and your people abuse same man but Peter Obi you praised as the best governor didn't remember to establish one.
Now you claim it is marginalisation rather than admit your leaders have been sleeping
so you don't know Peter Obi also did something similar at Onitsha? Where do you think innoson, SAB miller, and so many other industries are located ?
mandax: You observed correctly - Orlu is supposed to be like Awka and Abakaliki. But Abacha refused to create Njaba state then. Instead, he created 7 states in his NW zone. Yet Orlu did not give up, it continued to develop despite that it has no institution with large population, unlike Owerri, Awka and Abakaliki with multiple institutions with large populations. Gov Hope is like he is bent on creating a second modern city for Imo state, given the way he has embarked on reconstruction of roads in Orlu and the surrounding local govt areas.
we don't need to divide Imo state further, the state is already small, we need to add another states like Anioma to make us six.
waternogatenemy: If Hope can place street light on all road in Orlu main town or city, that will go along way to help the second city in Imo state attract some local investors just like Nnewi or Onitsha in Anambra.
Aside Orlu is actually meant to be like Awka or Owerri as the capital of a State under review or proposed.
Orlu keeps producing Governors with nothing to show.
Can Hope turn the tide and is he currently righting that wrong?
Time will tell but this video of Orlu looks promising.
