The flow of the river been dredged empties into the ocean as a result of flow gradient. So its only in cases of a tsunami that the ocean will flood the mangrove before heading inwards. Almost all flooding occuring in the niger delta is as a result of rivers over flowing their banks because of non dredging, desilting and increase in depth of the channel to accommodate increased water flow. The ocean surges into the coast line of lagos because it has little natural defences eg. Mangrove swamp. to serve as a buffer. Please go and study the atlas map of Nigeria, the flow directions of its major rivers, the vegetative zones before you come to nairaland and disgrace science.

Dredging a river means desilting, removing sediments and increasing the depth of a river channel. There are not creating aquaducts or artificial canals. The rivers been dredged already have a defined course

point of correction he did not set up beer company, he created the enabling environment that berthed SABmiller, orange drugs, sea man and other companies at harbour industrial estate. He only bought a stake for the state government. Same way federal government and Lagos government invest in PPP and buy stakes. Same thing FG is planning doing with the Nigeria air by having 5% stake
